Food Supply of Düsseldorf Citizens and Supply Policy in the British Zone 1945-1948

Schon in den ersten Tagen nach dem Ausbruch des zweiten .Weltkrieges wurde das Rationierungssystem in Deutschland eingefuhrt. Eng verbunden mit der Kriegsentwicklung verschlechterte sich langsam auch die Situation der Zivilbevölkerung im Deutschen Reich. Die Menge der offiziell rationierten Nahrungsmittel sank im Zusammenhang mit wachsender Knappheit an Ressourcen und mit dem Verlust der besetzten Gebiete im Osten, die der brutalen nazistischen landwirtschaftlichen Exploitation unterstellt waren. Während des Krieges kam es aber nie zu einer steilen Senkung der Rationen. Erst im März 1945 kam es in Düsseldorf wegen der Annäherung der Front zum Zusammenbruch des Verwaltungs- und Versorgunssystems und zur Senkung der Rationen zum ersten Mal auf 1.000 Kalorien. Auch nach der Eroberung Düsseldorfs von der amerikanischen Armee verbesserte sich die Versorgungslage kaum. Der totale Zusammenbruch des Verkehrs- und Versorgungssystem verursachte langzeitige Mangel an rationierten Nahrungsmitteln. Bis Ende Sommer 1945 blieben die Rationen auf ungefähr 1.000 Kalorien und erst im Herbst kam es zu Verbesserung der Lage. Activities of American independent institutions in Germany illustrated on American academy in Berlin

The broad field of foundations and non - government, non - partisan, non - profit institutions offers a great amount of different approaches to this topic. The here submitted study stresses one of the key points of connections between foreign institution and home state net of independent organizations. Using the method of case study brings deep and detail look into the ties among many different state and non - profit institutions. This study analyses non - partisan, public charity institution, The American Academy in Berlin. Considering the sphere of foundations in Germany and the roots of founding and philanthropy in the United States, it shows how these different approaches meet and cooperate. Description of activities and study of program is framing the main analytical part, which is focused on almost all fellowships that are offered by the American Academy in Berlin. Different institution grants each fellowship, private company, independent foundation or state authorities. These connections are described and used for tracking of different interest groups that might be involved in the activities of the Academy. The aim of this diploma thesis is to understand how the Nazis used and subordinated art to their power. It was necessary to concentrate the focus of this study on a specific region of the Third Reich. The choice of Düsseldorf as a frame for cultural-political studies of the years 1933-1945 was made because the city had been a cultural centre since the 18. century and it was a home of many famous artists, such as Heinrich Heine, Robert and Clara Schumann and Felix Mendelsohn-Bartholdy. Russian Germans in the Nineties of 20. Century. Stay or Leave

The aim of this diploma thesis is to introduce the biggest German minority living within the East Europe: so called "Russlanddeutsche". I tried to find an answer to the question why Germans living in Russia tend to return back to Germany. Germans have been setteling in Russia since 1763 when new colonists were invited by Catherine the Great. By the end of the 19th century there were about 1.8 milion of Germans living in Russia. Fryderyk Chopin's piano sonatas

The author in his work focuses on the piano sonatas of Polish music composer Fryderyk Chopin. Work contains a characteristic of composer's personality, his biography and mainly a chapter about Chopin's piano sonatas, which is divided to some sub chapters. The author mostly focuses on the interpretative problems of these compositions, where he derives benefit from his own experience. Relatively large is also the sub chapter "Form analysis". The main author's objective is to help beginning interpreters of Chopin's sonatas in study of these compositions. But this work might be interesting for all musicians who are interested in Chopin's piano sonatas.

Actual role of knowledge discovery in databases

The thesis "Actual role of knowledge discovery in databases˝ is concerned with churn prediction in mobile telecommunications. The issue is based on real data of a telecommunication company and it covers all steps of data mining process. In accord with the methodology CRISP-DM, the work looks thouroughly at the following stages: business understanding, data understanding, data preparation, modeling, evaluation and deployment. As far as a system for knowledge discovery in databases is concerned, the tool IBM SPSS Modeler was selected. The introductory chapter of the theoretical part familiarises the reader with the issue of so called churn management, which comprises the given assignment; the basic concepts related to data mining are defined in the chapter as well. The attention is also given to the basic types of tasks of knowledge discovery of databasis and algorithms that are pertinent to the selected assignment (decision trees, regression, neural network, bayesian network and SVM). The methodology describing phases of knowledge discovery in databases is included in a separate chapter, wherein the methodology of CRIPS-DM is examined in greater detail, since it represents the foundation for the solution of our practical assignment. The conclusion of the theoretical part also observes comercial or freely available systems for knowledge discovery in databases.

One of the main objectives of this work is to help beginning interpreters of Chopin´s Sonate b flat minor and this work might be useful also for all musicians who are interested in Chopin´s piano work.

Návrh zavedení - Identity Management systému pro společnost Tesco stores a.s.

V této diplomové práci se zabývám právě návrhem zavedení takového komplexního informačního systému, konkrétně Identity management systému. Toto téma jsem si zvolil z mnoha důvodů. Tím hlavním je možnost praktického užití závěrů této práce pro samotnou společnost Tesco, i když připouštím, že některé oblasti nejsou postiženy v takové detailnosti, jaká by byla pro společnost potřebná pro finální rozhodnutí ze strany managementu. Zaměřil jsem se především na oblast možných rizik, na nedostatky stávajícího systému a na analýzu nového navrhovaného systému.

The activity of emergency management authorities in provision of preparedness for resolution of extraordinary ebeny and funding of preparation.

The thesis deals with analysis of current security system in the Czech Republic and, in particular, with the legal framework for the training of state authorities and local governments to manage non-military events. The study and analysis of legislation and the subsequent synthesis of the findings enabled to arrange the chapters into a clearly structured whole. The rights and obligations of the emergency management authorities at the emergency response training and management, the system of security councils and crisis headquarters, activities and the scope of competencies of individual entities providing the emergency response training and management, focusing on the scope and powers of the regional and local administrative bodies, are described. The level of financial security spent by individual institutions on preparation for emergencies management is clearly surveyed. For municipal authorities, a model of a call for the provision of material support and resources at the time of an emergency situation has been suggested, since the large majority of mayors perform this activity voluntarily and without a refund of their salaries (besides their jobs) and they are not fully familiar with the issue. The current security system in the Czech Republic is functioning, and its settings and functionality have been verified in recent years in various emergency situations, without finding significant deficiencies. Yet it is still necessary to optimize the scope, methodology and actions of its components at different levels and in different areas and to consolidate the relevant legislation
