Development of electrochemical flow-through detectors based on carbon nanotubes
Pavlíčková, Eva ; Dejmková, Hana (advisor) ; Kubíčková, Anna (referee)
This work deals with the development of a flow through detection cell using carbon nanotubes deposited on a membrane as the working electrode. 3D printing was used to obtain prototypes of the detection cells. Uric acid and dopamine were used as analytes to verify the functionality of the cells. Three prototype cells were prepared during the work, differing in the location of the reference electrode and in the method of inserting the working electrode. Four cells with different internal dimensions are compared in this work, the best cell is the one with a length of 3 mm and a diameter of 3 mm. This membrane has to be lined with a non-woven fabric and another membrane for lower deformation of the nanotube membrane. The optimum conditions for the determination of the dopamine-urea acid mixture are: mobile phase 90 % phosphate acetate buffer pH 6 and 10 % methanol, input potential 0,5 V and flow rate 0,5 ml/min. The concentration of the nanotubes on the membrane is 0,05 mg/ml, higher concentration does not improve the degree of conversion, which is 0,6. Different types of nanotubes are also compared in this work. The short and wide nanotubes appear to be the best ones, which have the best repeatability and are closest to the theoretical charge exchange value of the measured substances.
Problematics of second feature film analyzed after year 2000
Pavlíčková, Eva ; OUKROPEC, Petr (advisor) ; BOROVAN, Pavel (referee)
Legal regime of land fulfilling the function of a forest
Pavlíčková, Eva ; Franková, Martina (advisor) ; Drobník, Jaroslav (referee)
This diploma thesis deals with the current legal regulation and the issues related to the land intended to fulfill the functions of a forest. The aim of the thesis is to evaluate the legal regulations and to provide proposals how to solve the deficiencies. The legal framework of this topic - the basis of this thesis is represented mainly by the individual act in this area - the so called Forest Law. In addition, other legal regulations are also presented. Particular terms are gradually introduced and forests are characterized from the point of categorization. The most extensive part of this thesis is the third chapter which focuses on the protection of the land intended to fulfill the functions of a forest and related institutions. The forest is defined as a significant landscape element and a part of natural protected areas. Furthermore, the principle of sustainable development is mentioned and the instruments used for forest's protection are also defined. Moreover, the principles of land revocation and restriction, the institution of public use of forest so as forest guard and other authorities are presented. The last chapter addresses the issue of property and lease relations of the land intended to fulfill the functions of a forest. Also the re-established institution of tenancy is interpreted....
Remarks on raw material distribution in western LbK Culture region during the Neolithic
Pavlíčková, Eva ; Popelka, Miroslav (advisor) ; Stolz, Daniel (referee)
This diploma thesis deals with the distribution of lithic raw materials in the Neolithic, whereas the main interest was focused on the area of Germany. The dispersion of chipped and polished stone artefacts in time and space was studied on the basis of available literature. The first part of this work presents existing knowledge about spreading specific types of lithic raw materials. The second part introduces sites from different federal states with finds of chipped and polished stone industry from which was it possible to determine the composition of lithic raw materials collections. The database is part of this work and includes catalogue of sites.
The Culture of Hand Hygiene
PAVLÍČKOVÁ, Eva
Basic theoretical premises:Nursing personnel presents the most numerous professional group in the health care sector. They spend 24 hours a day and seven days a week with patients. The nursing personnel's inadequate hand hygiene may result in hospital-acquired infection with all its negative consequences. The knowledge and application of proper hand hygiene techniques as well as aseptic procedures play a key role in the prevention of nosocomial infection theoretical part of the thesis consists of two sections. The former section focuses on a detailed definition of hospital-acquired infection, its categorization, origin, and prevention. The latter section discusses hand hygiene, including its development since 1847. Particular attention is paid to WHO's "Five Moments for Hand Hygiene," the various techniques, obstacles, and improvement strategies.Goals of the thesis, research questions and hypotheses:The primary aim of the research was to establish whether the measures recommended in the "Five Moments for Hand Hygiene" were followed in selected hospitals in the Czech Republic. To reach this objective, three sub-goals were defined: Sub-goal no. 1: To establish, by means of the direct observation technique, whether proper hand hygiene was performed. Sub-goal no. 2: To map the application of proper hand hygiene in particular situations. Sub-goal no. 3: To test the proper hand disinfection by means of a fluorescent lotion and a UV lamp. Five hypotheses were postulated to reach the objectives. Hypothesis no. 1: The recommended hand hygiene techniques are adopted to the same degree in all hospitals under investigation. Hypothesis no. 2: The recommended hand hygiene measures are applied to the same degree in the five particular situations. Hypothesis no. 3: The hospital provider influences the attitude toward proper hand hygiene. Hypothesis no. 4: The level of education impacts the attitude toward proper hand hygiene. Hypothesis no. 5: The number of years of personnel's work experience affects proper hand hygiene compliance. Methodology:The practice-based research section of the present thesis contains quantitative results gathered from the field research in selected hospitals in the Capital City of Prague and the Central Bohemian Region. The direct observation involved a test of the actual application of hand hygiene measures by means of a fluorescent lotion and a UV lamp. The results of the direct observation were recorded in the observation notes and subsequently processed by means of the Excel application from the Microsoft Office software suite. The Anova method was employed to test the set hypotheses. Graphics was used to interpret the outcome of the direct observation.Research batch: The research batch was presented by 104 non-physician staff members working in 7 hospitals administrated by 3 different providers and involving 3 different types of wards, all located in the Capital City of Prague and the Central Bohemian Region.Results:.As based on the results, the initial hypotheses were assessed as follows: Hypothesis no. 1: The recommended hand hygiene techniques are adopted to the same degree in all hospitals under investigation. The hypothesis was not confirmed. Hypothesis no. 2: The recommended hand-hygiene measures are applied to the same degree in the five particular situations/diagnoses. The hypothesis was not confirmed. Hypothesis no. 3: The hospital provider influences the attitude toward proper hand hygiene. The hypothesis was confirmed. Hypothesis no. 4: The level of education impacts the attitude toward proper hand hygiene. The hypothesis was not confirmed. Hypothesis no. 5: The number of years of personnel's work experience affects proper hand hygiene compliance. The hypothesis was not confirmed..Conclusion:The present thesis offers an insight into the issue of proper hand hygiene of non-physician health care workers..
The market of contemporary fine art
Pavlíčková, Eva ; Černá, Jitka (advisor) ; Dvořáková, Olga (referee)
This thesis "The market of contemporary fine art" explores the arts marketing processes of comparable commercial galleries, aimed at young Czech art. The theoretical part focuses on arts marketing and its application in the art scene. The practical part focuses on the analysis of individual marketing activities with the help of expert interviews, and then uses a competitive analysis to contrast the marketing methods of the Dvorak sec contemporary art galleries. The aim of this work is to compare and to consider the individual marketing processes of competitive galleries in the marketplace of contemporary art.
