Analyzing the complexity of auxin-related processes and their regulation
Simon, Sibu ; Zažímalová, Eva (advisor) ; Stiborová, Marie (referee) ; Pavlíček, Jiří (referee)
Phytohormone auxin plays an important role in various aspects of plant growth and development. The necessary concentration maxima at the region of its action are achieved by auxin metabolism, passive diffusion of auxin molecules across plasma membrane and by the carrier-mediated auxin transport, as well as by modulation of these processes. In our study we used a group of compounds structurally related to major endogenous auxin indole-3-acetic acid, as well as synthetic auxins 2,4-dichlorophenoxy acetic acid (2,4- D) and naphthalene-1-acetic acid (NAA). We aimed to characterize the auxin specificity of developmentally important processes such as carrier-mediated auxin transport, and 'genomic' (transcriptional) and 'non-genomic' (transcriptional) auxin signaling. In addition to the characterization of these compounds we also hoped to get an insight into the complex regulatory mechanism of auxin-related processes and to possibly find a particular compound with distinct behavior towards particular processes. By making use of such compounds and other molecular tools we aimed to analyze the mechanism of 'non-genomic' auxin signaling, to understand the mode of action of FM (Fei Mao) styryl dyes on the dynamics of membrane- localized auxin transporters, and to study the involvement of other phytohormones...
Příprava a charakterisace rekombinantního dermcidinu jako potenciálního proteinového partnera glutamátkarboxypeptidasy II
Tužil, Jan ; Konvalinka, Jan (advisor) ; Pavlíček, Jiří (referee)
A process of forming new blood vessels is necessary for tumour viability and expansion. Without vasculature, tumour stops growing at a size of millimeters. Some tumours, however, undergo an angiogenic switch and start to build up their own vascular architecture. The rate of apoptosis then decreases and the tumour becomes invasive. There are many factors that control the process of physiological angiogenesis. These might or might not relate to tumour tissue as well. Glutamate carboxypeptidase II (GCPII; EC 3.4.17.21) is a type II transmembrane glycoprotein with two known enzymatic activities. GCPII expression is upregulated in prostate cancer and also highly expressed in tumour-associated neovasculature even though none of these enzymatic functions was observed on the endothelium. Although numerous researches suggested that GCPII might serve as a receptor, no natural ligand has been identified yet. Preliminary experiments performed in our laboratory indicated some proteins to be possible natural ligands of GCPII. Therefore, we chose one of them- dermcidin, cloned and expressed this protein in mammalian cells. We investigated its possible interaction with GCPII introducing new detection system utilizing FLAG-tag however, we were not able to approve neither disapprove its interaction in vitro.
Regulation options of renewable energy sources
Pavlíček, Jiří ; Morávek, Jan (referee) ; Pěcha, Jiří (advisor)
This bachelor's thesis deals with the regulation of renewable energy sources. It focuses on ways of managing and possibilities of regulation renewable energy resources. Indicates the proportion of various types of renewable energy sources in electricity production and their representation in the electrical load profile. Thesis describes the various storage systems, which can be used to stabilize the renewable energy sources. Evaluate the applicability of these storage systems in the energy sector.
Trophies
Pavlíček, Jiří ; Sobotka, Jiří (referee) ; Mikyta, Svätopluk (advisor)
18 metres long drawing on canvas, describing my own six years long live on high school and in my home town or my cottage. Trophies, the most important theme for my art, is growing in this drawing. The canvas is reeled in wooden machine and it is scrolling with the handle. In this installation there are some of my trophies and founded fragments of nature.
Visualization and remote control intelligent wiring Foxtrot with DALI interface
Pavlíček, Jiří ; Macháček, Jan (referee) ; Bátora, Branislav (advisor)
This master's thesis deals with intelligent wiring Foxtrot and use in the field of lighting. The theoretical part is comparsion of classical and intelligent wiring. This section provides an overview of the most widely used bus system for building control in our market. Thesis is devoted to the description of the Foxtrot system and development environment mosaic. In the development environment Mosaic is designed program for lighting control DALI interface. WebMaker enabled program visualization and his remote contorol. The result of practical part is a lab manual.
Importance of microfinance for development in Central Asia
Pavlíček, Jiří ; Šaroch, Stanislav (advisor) ; Kašpar, Václav (referee)
Diploma thesis aims at analysing impacts of microfinance on economimies of particular countries in Central Asia region. Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Kazakhstan were chosen for the analysis. First part of the thesis characterizes socioeconomic development and situation in selected countries. Second part of the thesis analyses specific form of microfinance and governments' attitude to this area of financial sector. The last part of the thesis compares impacts of microfinance on chosen economies with each other. It also deals with comparation of microfinance system in Central Asia and vision of Muhammad Yunus, pioneer of modern microfinance.
Role of commercial banks in support of small and medium sized enterprises' export in Czech republic
Pavlíček, Jiří ; Černohlávková, Eva (advisor) ; Nejedlý, Michal (referee)
Bachelor thesis aims at analysing services connected with support of small and medium sized enterprises' export, which are provided by commercial banks. The thesis do not focus just on description of services, but also analyses relation between state (or international) institutions and commercial banks. It beggins with description of banking in the Czech republic and definition of small and medium sized enterprises and shows reasons for the support. In second part, there is written about main state and international institutions providing support to small and medium sized enterprises. In the end, products provided by commercial banks are described.
Modelling of regional demand for housing in Czech Republic - teoretical principles and application
Pavlíček, Jiří ; Čadil, Jan (advisor) ; Toth, Petr (referee)
This thesis is focused on simulation of demand for housing and formation of prices on the real estate market in Czech Republic. Theorethic introduction discribes microeconomic demand theory and spatial demand based on localization theory. The basic theory advences in demand for housing, that is focused on heterogeneousness, price, localization and types of living. Principal aim of this thesis is the empirical analysis and simulation of regional demand on the real estate market. Empiric analysis consists of dynamic and static model of demand for housing in Czech Republic etc..
