Meeting the Needs of Female Clients of Shelters for Mothers and Children in the Czech Republic

(in English) The rigorous thesis is devoted to the topic of meeting the needs of users of shelter homes for mothers with children in the Czech Republic. It defines the form of residential social services for mothers with children in Czech legislation. It approaches the target audience of the institution and addresses the causes that may have led to the need to find a service. It specifies the most frequently solved needs, problems, deficits of shelter-seekers. The general part deals with social work methods that can be used in direct work with clients during their stay. The empirical part examines the needs of shelter clients from the perspective of social workers. Based on the assessment of the nationwide questionnaire survey, the results are compared with the views of the clients in the form of structured interviews to verify the reality of the data. The research part of the thesis is closed by an analysis of methodical tools for the identification of client needs used in several selected shelters for mothers and children. The results of the work bring the identification of the areas and the specific needs with which the social workers of the shelters all over the Czech Republic meet. The specifics of violence against women without shelter

The diploma thesis is focused on the specifics of violence against the homeless women. The thesis is divided in theoretical and empirical part. Theoretical part is further divided into three chapters, structured from the general description of homelessness to the specifics of violence that is happening on the homeless women. The goal of the empirical part is also to identify barriers and preconditions for the solution of violence and recommendations for optimization of help with violence. The empirical part is based on two data sets, one of them is social workers/curators, second is homeless women. The research is qualitative and is conducted in the form of semi-structured interviews. In the final part of empirical research, a comparative analysis of both data sets is performed. From the analysis are derived the conclusions and recommendations on how to contribute to setting more effective means of solving violence against the homeless women.

Analysis of social services provided to the families of imprisoned person

This paper analyses social services provided to the families of imprisoned person. Services for the families of imprisoned person are provided by non-state organisations. The providers of social services established by the state do not provide specific services for families of imprisoned person. The providers of social services cooperate with such families on the basis of other social problems which occur in the families. On this level there are not any specific services provided to the families of imprisoned person corresponding to their specific needs such as dealing with the absence of a family member and maintaining in contact with them. For imprisoned person is maintaining the family relationship the main motivation to change his behaviour and to engage in society without committing any other crime. Family provides to the released prisoner home and condition necessary for their resettlement.

The idea of home of homeless and its reality on area of town Pilsen

(in English): The diploma thesis is focusing on reality of homelessnes. It is supposed to be some kind of a probe into the life of homeless people. The main goal of this thesis is to chart the reality and idea of home of the homeless. Also to find out how they live, what relations they have with their families and with each other and last but not least, what are their hopes for future. The thesis is divided into theorethical and practical parts. In the theoretical part of it the main concepts are desribed. The reader is presented with evolution, typology, main causes of homelessnes and also with problems which homless people are facing daily. The last part is focused mainly on help for homeless. Practical part is focused on research itself, which implemented with semistructured interviews answered by 15 homeless people. The facts concerning mainly the idea of stable accomodations were determined within the research survey.
Social risk phenomena and their esponse to the approach of working with clients Shelter Speramus

The presented bachelor thesis analyzes a social phenomenon named the homelessness. The thesis focus on the problem as a whole and subsequently describes a social service, which tries to deal with this social problem. The thesis also describes the process in composition of users of the homeless shelter named Speramus in the city Liberec. The quantitive research explores the development of social pathologic occurrence, which brings new ways of dealing with homelessness in the shelter. Attitudes of the Public and Students of Helping Profession towards Homeless People

This bacherol thesis is devided into two parts, theoretical and practical. The work is focused on public attitudes towards homeless people. The theoretical part deals with the definition of homeless and homelessness, causes of homelessness, its forms. The thesis also deals with homelessness in the Czech Republic, prevention of homelessness, social work with homeless and attitudes towards the homeless. The practical part includes research in the form of questionnaire. This questionnaire was given to students of helping professions. The results of this survey are also stated. Possibilities of reduction of a risk of reoffending via probation activities

An Abstract The dissertation is devoted to criminal recidivism terms of probation officers who work daily with offenders, who were imposed an alternative punishment. The theoretical part is focused on explanation of restorative and retributive justice and probation and mediation service in the Czech Republic but also in England and Germany. Furthermore, the theoretical part includes a description of the factors that influence the criminal behavior of the offender with an emphasis on social - cultural factors. In the last part of the theoretical work is defined criminal recidivism itself, its basic layout, types, and also statistics of recidivism in the Czech Republic and penitentiary and post-penitentiary care. The practical part contains qualitative research made with the help of interviews with probation officers. The aim of the research part of the thesis is to find out what Probation and Mediation Service employees themselves think about the possibilities of reducing recidivism through probation work with criminals and also what is the probation employees opinion of the actual criminal recidivism.
