Zikmunda, Jan ; Novotná, Jiřina (advisor) ; Kostelecká, Yvona (referee)
TITLE: Support for the development of children with learning disabilities - the voice of parents AUTHOR: Jan Zikmunda DEPARTMENT: Ústav profesního rozvoje pracovníků ve školství SUPERVISOR: PhDr. Jiřina Novotná ABSTRACT: The thesis deals with the support of children with learning disabilities and the family. The thesis consists of the theoretical part and the practical part. The theoretical part presents the problems of pupils with specific learning disability, how the disability develops, what the learning disabilities are, it also describes the child's family, leisure. The practical part analyse the experience of children with specific learning disability based on the interview with the parents, their most common problems. KEYWORDS: Specific learning disabilities: dyslexia, dysgfaphia, dysortographia, dyscalculia, dyspraxia, dysmúzie, dyspinxie, behavioral disorders, leisure, the family.
Financial education at the secondary school
Kazda, Martin ; Petrášková, Vladimíra (advisor) ; Novotná, Jarmila (referee)
The main goal of this diploma work is to create a concept of one-year two-hour seminars teaching financial literacy at high school. Its content is in accordance with the standards of financial literacy that were defined in the document " The system of establishment of financial literacy at primary and secondary schools ", and which have been implemented in the RVP of high school and secondary vocational education in 2009. In particular, constructivist approach is being applied in the teaching to whose implementation using appropriately chosen teaching methods that are designated in the methodological recommendations of Pedagogical Research Institute. Following teaching materials are drawn up for each thematic unit seminar (household management, prices and money, financial markets, interest and interest calculation, financial products, financial planning and consumer protection): the recommended sequence of intermediate tutorial, theme, tutorial, tutorial presentations, pupil outputs, input and output test. The other goal of this diploma work is a small research through a questionnaire with closed issues, whose main aim was to map out the teaching of financial literacy at secondary schools in the Czech Republic. Keywords Financial literacy, Financial education, Activating teaching methods
Indirect Proportion - Pupils' Strategies, Textbook Analysis and Teachers' Didactic Practices
Reichmann, David ; Vondrová, Naďa (advisor) ; Novotná, Jarmila (referee)
1 Abstract The goal of the diploma thesis was to identify and describe didactic practices of selected experienced mathematics teachers, used in the teaching of indirect proportion, to make an analysis of the most used textbooks from the point of view of teaching indirect proportion, to select suitable problems which diagnose pupils' knowledge of indirect proportion and to identify pupils' strategies and their mistakes in solving them. Indirect proportion is first described from the point of view of curricular documents and of Czech pupils' results in this area in both national and international surveys. The pupil's knowledge gaining process is characterised from the point of view of didactic constructivism. Next, ways and conceptions of teaching indirect proportion as provided by selected primary textbooks are given. The content analysis of textbooks was made and compared to results of similar studies. Next, the thesis deals with some results of international research on proportional thinking and solving strategies for problems on proportion which are then used as a starting point of my own research on pupils' strategies for problems on indirect proportion. The next part of research consists of semi-structured interviews with experienced teachers, observations of their lessons and analysis of their pupils'...
Parameter estimation of random variables distribution
Šimková, Barbora ; Mošna, František (advisor) ; Novotná, Jarmila (referee)
of the bachelor's thesis Title: Parameter estimation of random variables distribution Author: Bc. Barbora Šimková Department: Department of Mathematics and Mathematical Education Supervisor: RNDr. František Mošna, Dr. Abstract: The subject of this thesis is to compare basic methods by which it is possible to calculate point estimates of discrete and continuous probability distributions. The work deals with the analysis of the two methods - the method of moments and maximum like- lihood method. These methods are used for point estimates of probability distributions parameters. The method of moments studies the comparison between the theoretical and sample moments of a random variable. The method of maximum likelihood is an- other alternative for the calculation of point estimates, which uses the classical approach of finding the maximum of a function, using the properties of random selection. These methods of calculation are based on statistical methods and could be used as an inter- isting extencion of the basic course on probability and statistics at Charles University's Faculty of Education. The work is an overview of the estimated parameters of the basic distribution and compares the quality of two basic methods for their estimation. Keywords: parameter estimation, distribution of random...
A priori analysis as a part of teacher's lesson planning
Nováková, Hana ; Novotná, Jarmila (advisor) ; Vondrová, Naďa (referee) ; Coufalová, Jana (referee)
5 TITLE: A priori analysis as a part of teacher's lesson planning AUTHOR: Mgr. Hana Nováková DEPARTMENT: Department of Mathematics and Mathematical Education SUPERVISOR: Prof. RNDr. Jarmila Novotná, CSc. This thesis focuses on a priori analysis as a part of teacher's lesson planning. The theoretical background consists of the Theory of didactical situations in Mathematics (TDSM). In TDSM, the a priori analysis is seen as one of the teacher's tools that he/she has when planning a lesson. The goal of the thesis is to analyse differences between a priori analysis as described in TDSM and the reality in teacher's practice, to compare lesson plans of experienced teachers with those of students and demonstrate the significance and application of a priori analysis in teacher's and researcher's practice. The thesis consists of three parts, theoretical, experimental and applicational. In the theoretical part, the main concepts of TDSM linked with a priori analysis are explained and the issue of teacher's lesson planning is presented. The experimental part starts with a pre-experiment. Its results contributed to precise the structure of a priori analysis for further use. During the main experiment, the lesson plans of experienced teachers were compared with those of pre-service teachers. The differences and the...
