Egon Bondy and his atheism. The comparation of his academical and belletristic works.
Dundáčková, Petra ; Bartlová, Milena (advisor) ; Nešpor, Zdeněk (referee)
This study is based on comparative analysis of (un)faith in the literary and academic works of the writer and philosopher Egon Bondy. The aim of this research is to find out how much he was actually an avowed atheist and what differences are in the concept of transcendence in the philosophical and literary works. The study is divided into three sections. The first section is devoted to the theoretical framework, the second section pays attention to Bondy's biography and the third section concerns the analysis and comparison of his philosophical and literary works. The theoretical first section primarily deals with Ricœur's comparison of narrative in history and philosophy presented in a monograph Time and Narrative, which is analogously used for the comparison of literature and philosophy. An important fact is that Bondy's literary work is characterized by significant autobiographical features and stands on the border between literature and philosophy. The second section deals with the life of Egon Bondy and his work in the underground environment. The third section pays attention to the main lines of the selected works (Philosophical work I.-II., Nepovídka) and there is a comparison of texts based on a content analysis. The result is the finding of a high similarity of expressed ideas. Bondy...
In the Name of Christ-Selected Thoughts of the Members of the Lesser Czech Evangelical Churches in the Period 1890-1940
Mašek, Tomáš ; Horský, Jan (advisor) ; Nešpor, Zdeněk (referee)
The work focuses on the specification of the specificities of the thinking of some smaller evangelical churches in the territory of Bohemia in the period 1890-1940. Specifically, this is the Brethren Unity of Chelčický (Baptist), the Unity of Czech Brethren (formerly Reformed Free Church) and the Evangelical Methodist Church. The focus of the interpretation is to introduce the construction of confessional identity based on the relationship to the past and the specific interpretation of the personalities and events that shaped the tradition from which these churches were based. Another element forming the identity of the members of these churches was their attitude to the modern secularization tendencies against which they stood in opposition. Last but not least, their confessional consciousness determined their definition of other forms of piety. The aim of the work was to provide, based on the study of the published written sources left by the members of these three churches, a comparison and characterization of their way of viewing certain subjects through their religious beliefs.
The Semiotics of Han Tombs
Laštovková, Andrea ; Šafaříková, Radana (advisor) ; Nešpor, Zdeněk (referee)
The master thesis called "Semiotics Han Tombs" does not only deal with the semiotics view of space of Han dynasty tombs, when we are examining the number of structures, which are permeating Han graves, we find structures of the world of man living in China, but this process also points to problems of culture interpretation which cultural semiotics helps to eliminate. Problems associated with the sign plays an important role in shaping the very cultural and social identity. The issue of understanding and interpretation of cultures occurs at the time when we select certain features or characters from the structure of a culture to freely create a system without having analyzed the real culture. Always all these elements must be considered in the context of the overall system or structure, or we only deal with empty concepts or definitions. In other words, we do not see the whole picture. Han tomb as a text is polysemous and in many respects incomprehensible. However, the creation, reading and semiosis takes place in it and it is the statement of understanding of this world. So revealing the speaker's worldview depends on the process of interpretation, because the statement may involve a degree of ideological connotations which determined the interpretation independently on the previous coding. Key...
