Selected methods of therapeutic rehabilitation in spinal muscular atrophy

The bachelor's thesis "Selected methods of therapeutic rehabilitation in spinal muscular atrophy - a research paper" deals with the issue of a progressive neurodegenerative disorder in spinal muscular atrophy (SMA) with the focus on therapeutic rehabilitation. Due to the lack of causal treatment in the present time, therapeutic rehabilitation holds a crucial position. The main part of the thesis consists of a brief overview of the existing knowledge of the SMA disorder, the principles of prevention and therapy of the most frequent musculoskeletal difficulties of patients, as well as an overview of selected methods of therapeutic rehabilitation, appropriate in this disorder. The most frequent musculoskeletal difficulties of the SMA patients include: development of scoliosis, contractures and luxation of hip joint. In the overview of methods and concepts appropriate in patients with SMA, selected methods and concepts based predominantly on neurophysiologic principle and options for respiratory rehabilitation were listed. The thesis is supplemented with the casuistry of a patient with the third type of SMA.

Petra Nosková Summary The bachelor's project called "The issue of pathological players focusing on the poker players" tells about the problematic of pathological gamblers while focusing on poker players. Gambling is surely one of the biggest worldwide problems in today's world, and that affects all demographics with no regards of sex, age or education. Pathological gambling today is regarded as an impulsive and addictive disorder which can provoke a very strong addiction in a particular human being to the object of its addiction. The term "gambling" today is not limited to just slot machines as before, but also to other things such as sports bets, dices or poker, the latter of which is increasing its popularity in these latest years. This paper describes pathological gambling as a disease, its development process and its possible healing. The healing of a pathological gambler is very long and it is a very costly process, thus it is very important to work on its prevention as well as to denounce it publicly in the media. This essay does not just speak in general about pathological gambling, but it also focuses on a particular story about a man who is a pathological gambler, called "Michal P.", who also talks about his view on playing poker and his lifestyle as a gambler.

Functional disorders of the locomotor system in patients with primary dysmenorrhea

The thesis deals with primary dysmenorrhea (PD) in relation to the locomotor system. The aim of the the sis was to compare the frequency of selected joint blocks and the incidence of constitutional hypermobility in PD patients in comparison with the control group. The patient group included 9 women with PD symptoms and the control group consisted of 10 women without these symptoms. The incidence of atlanto - occipital joint block within the patient group was significantly higher than within the control group (p < 0,05). The total number of stuck ribs was also considerably higher in PD patients (p < 0,01). Pain on palpation on the top of the coccygeum apex was significantly higher within the patient group (p < 0,001). Patients with PD did not show significantly different results in Beighton score test for constitutional hypermobility assessment when compared with the control group. Another aim of the thesis was to judge the effect of physical therapy on PD symptoms. For three months, the group of 9 patients had been encouraged to do regular exercises with the impact on postural stability and diagnosed functional disorders of the locomotor system by means of physical therapy. The swimming effect on the body condition at patients with transversal spinal cord lesions

The theory part contains information regarding spinal cord injuries, possible complications, therapy, influence of swimming and water environment on the physical constitution, muscle functions and respiratory functions. Information about the methods of water movement therapy for physically handicapped are a part of the theoretical part as well. The aim of the practical part was to evaluate the influence of regular swimming on the physical condition and respiratory functions of spinal lesion impaired patients.

Diplomová práce je rozdělena na teoretickou a praktickou část. Teoretická část obsahuje vymezení pojmů a popis metodologických prostředků a ukazatelů užívaných při finanční analýze. Praktická část se nejprve zaměřuje na charakteristiku podniku Vodohospodářské strojírny a slévárny, a.s. Písek a poté na rozbor účetních výkazů a provedení analýz (poměrová analýza, horizontální a vertikální analýza, čistého pracovní kapitál, Altmanův index, Kralickův Quicktest atd.). V závěrečné části je provedeno shrnutí práce resp. vyvozeny závěry.
