The prevention od sexually risk behavior of yough: The Role of NGO'S and State in Czech Republic

Diploma thesis "Prevention of sexually risk behaviour of youth: role of the State and Non-Governmental Organizations" deals with the functions and roles of State and Non- Governmental Organizations in area of research. The first task of this diploma thesis is the analysis and description of the sexually risk behaviour of youth on the state horizontal level. Another objective is to create a list of Non-Governmental Organizations active in this area. Research is about roles, provision, activities and forms of cooperation between State and Non-Governmental Organizations. Description is created on the based of the qualitative research with thorough data secondary analysis and partly-structured interviews with the representatives of organizations dedicated to prevention of this socio-pathological phenomenon. Based on achieved surveys there are conclusions and recommendations for improvement prevention of sexually risk behaviour of youth in Czech Republic in the last part of the dissertation. The evolution of the informal education in the Czech Republic since 1989 up to the present days, and its situation today

The aim of this paper is to describe a topic which is difficult to define, i. e. the evolution of the informal education in the Czech Republic since 1989 up to the present days, and its present situation. The paper concentrates on the organizations working with children and youth and tries to identify the important moments of the evolution of the informal education and the aspects in which this type of education may be irreplaceable. The theoretical part of the paper deals with the evolution of the citizen society, the change of the position of people in its framework and the influence of the education and leisure time on the personality of present people. The quantitative, empirical part of the paper presents the results of a survey via questionnaires among organizations working with children and youth in the region of central Bohemia. The Relationship Between Local Administration and Non-Governmental Organizations: An Example of Three Local Administrations in Prague

The aim of this thesis is to describe the relationship between local government and NGOs in the area of provision of social services. First chapter of the theoretical part defines the key participants of this relationship and presents theories, which consider the government or rather self-governments as the guarantor of institutional and financal framework, whereas NGOs are considered to be service providers. Second and third chapter focuses on theoretical framework of public administration and NGOs with a respect to the context of Czech republic. The empirical part presents outcomes of the research that took place at three self-governments in Prague and explores relationships between these municipalities and NGOs.
The support of czech nonprofit sector by dutch foundations and organizations

Diploma thesis "The support of Czech nonprofit sector by Dutch foundations and organizations" deals with a help and support of transforming society in 1989. It describes the civil sector in 1989, forms of financing non-profit organizations and deals with the role of foreign aid. Theoretical part contains a chapter about the Netherlands, the history of relations with this country as well as a focus on Dutch development assistance and its evaluation. The list of Dutch foundations and organizations that supported Czech civil sector is included. The research focuses on the MATRA/KAP program. The aim of research was to find out, which organizations were supported and what criteria have been established for obtaining support. I was also interested about experiences of donor and supported organizations.
Ex-prisoner's Resocialization in Czech Republic and the United States of America : Different Approach of Civil Sector and the Role of Volunteers

This master thesis is aimed at comparison of two different non-profit organizations which are using grassroot, respectively professionalize model. These models were examined on the example of two non-profit organizations which deal with re-socialization of ex- offenders. One is located in the Czech Republic, the other one in the United States of America. The aim of this thesis is to describe the differences between these organization with special aim at the differ role of volunteers, different services that are provided and the relationship with the community while using techniques such as interviews, stadium of the available documents and case study methods. In the end, the result is that both organizations are following the rules that are set up within community or professional model and as such they also treat the volunteers.
Civic Society Organizations Supporting Employment of Parents in Prague and Central Region (2010 - 2012)

Diploma thesis "Civil Society Organizations supporting employment of parents in Prague and Central Bohemian Region (2010 - 2012)" deals with the mapping of supply of civil society organizations in the area of Prague and Central Bohemia in the years 2010 - 2012, which aim to promote employment of parents. In the empirical research are included programs of personal and professional development of clients, help with their orientation in the labour market, advice on a finding new work (including setting up own business) and programs that are focused on working with employers and reconciling family and working life. In view of the fact that these organizations offers, of course, to some extent dependent on the characteristics of the Czech Republic, family and employment policies of the state and the European Union, the thesis contains also a summary of key facts that are related to this area. In conclusion, this thesis contains not only an analysis of research outputs, but as well as a draft recommendations, which could lead to improvement of the situation.
The Sudetenland trough the ages - the state of civil society in the Sudetenland (Mařenice village)

This thesis deals with the status of civil society in the Sudetenland. The issue of living in the borderlands is examined in the context of historical events and is related with political, cultural and social transformations. Theoretical work is focused both on defining the problem of the Sudetenland and the traditions of thought to grasp the concept of civil society on the basis of which is derived the current definition of civil society and its other prerequisites. The first part of the theoretical work maps the development of civil sector and the importance of community life in the context of Czech historical events, the second discusses the development of Czech-German coexistence with emphasis on the interwar and postwar events and developement. The practical part, which carries a crucial part of field research, is based on interviews with local natives, new immigrants and cottagers. The work involves presentation of NGO's, which is operating in the lokality as an important indicator of the state of civil society. Conclusion of the work presents the results of the analysis of interviews that have interpretive value of the current state of civil society in the Sudetenland. The Role of the Kurdish Civic Association in the Integration of the Kurds into Czech Society

SYNOPSIS The principal objective of this thesis, entitled The Role of the Kurdish Civic Association in the Integration of the Kurds into Czech Society, focuses on defining the basic terms (integration, civic society, migrants' association), and briefly describes the legislative impact of migration on Czech civil society. The role of the established civic sector in the integration process is outlined, and types and functions of migrants' associations are defined. In addition, insight into the migration of the Kurds and their ways of associating within a host society is provided. Research data is based on analyzed questionnaire results: surveys completed by a research pool of 27 Kurds living in the Czech Republic, aged 15 and over. Participant observation at Kurdish meetings and events - both formal and informal, and individual interviews were the methods of choice for evaluating the importance and function of the Kurdish civic association. In conclusion, evaluated data has been summarized and recommendations given for further activities of the Kurdish civic association. Spanish development cooperation and development education implemented by nongovernmental nonprofit organizations in Valencia

The present thesis tries to Czech readers familiar with the concepts of development cooperation and development education in Spain, focusing on the practical implementation of development education by NGOs in Valencia. In the theoretical part are gradually presented the basic historical and political bases of both concepts and the reader is acquainted with the institutional prerequisites for their implementation in Spain. The empirical part contains the results of the analysis of interviews with representatives of NGOs in Valencia, which realize the practical development educational activities in elementary and secondary schools. The text is supplemented with illustrative graphs and tables, and includes examples of typical responses of respondents which contribute to the understanding and interpretation of the text. The final section includes a discussion of applied research methods and critical evaluation of the results that were presented in the empirical part.
