How to invite men? Project Patron - the case study of engaging men in the areas of civic, public and private life which needs their deeper participation Abstract The support of engagement of men in the areas of civic, private and public life which showing the lack of their involvement becomes a topic in the last decade on the level of EU and some national states. But there is just little social research focused on the practical ways how to support the engagement of men in these areas. This paper offers the view from perspective of the studies of civil society - which is especially focused on the motivations to volunteering - combined with the perspective of the studies of men and masculinities. The core of this paper is a case study of the project Patron in which the adult men creates friendly-based relationships with the young men from the institutional care and help them to manage the leaving of this care to the "real life". Adéla Zelenda Kupcová Abstract: Dissertation Narrative identity in biographical narratives of extremist scene leaders in Central Europe deals with analysis of biographical narratives of the extremist scene's prominent leaders in select Central European countries (the former German Democratic Republic, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary). It is based on the theory of social constructivism, and its aim is to analyze how and under what experience the leading representatives of the extremist scene construct their narrative identities, what life events have influenced their attitudes and worldviews, how they present themselves and how they understand themselves and their roles in life. Organizations of Citizen Participation in Broumov

Following study is dedicated to level of development of participation in rural area of Broumov region and cooperation between representatives of civil society and local authorithies (local politicans and officials). The key part is the analysis of participation in selected area of Nachod district (Hradec Kralové region). Data for the analysis were obtained partly through studying of the materials, the available statistical data and scientific literature, partly through analysis of semi-structured interviews with representatives of town halls, local government institutions and non-profit organizations who are the key actors of participation at the local level. The basic intention to describe the situaction in city Broumov was extended to the entire Broumov region because the city Broumov is an integral part of this area. It will also better grasp the issue of participation in the entire area. The aim of the analysis is to determine the factors that affect this cooperation, the strengths and weaknesses that help or inhibit or even threaten the continued development of the nonprofit sector and cooperation with representatives of government and public administration in the area and find out how the cooperation in the region looks from point of view of local key actors. The Involvement of Young Russian-Speaking Immigrants into Civil Society in Prague

Russian-speaking immigrant`s community in the Czech Republic is quite extensive and quite closed. A large proportion of this group includes university students whose civic engagement is an excellent indicator for assessing the level of integration into Czech society. The aim of this thesis is to find out how the young Russian-speaking immigrants participate in civil society in Prague and what potential obstacles to participation they have already had or may have. In addition, the large role is played by personal background and motivation of migrants. The history of the Russian migration in Czechoslovakia, integration theory and the theory of civic engagement are included in theoretical background. Design of the thesis is a qualitative research.
Civic Engagement of Female Dissident

The theme of this diploma thesis is the civic engagement of women in dissent world from 70's to 90's of the 20th century. I am focusing on women who were engaged in movement of Charta 77. The goal of this work is to show how the female dissidents engaged, how the fact that they are women influented their engagement. I am also analyzing reasons which led women around Charta 77 to civic engagement. In the theoretical part of diploma thesis are presented different perspectives on civic engagement and the world of dissent is more described. The empirical part presents the conclusions and findings that were obtained from qualitative research method specifically through interviews with selected dissidents. The Issue of Domestic Violence and Its Solutions in Practice from the Perspective of Public and Civil Sector in Hradec Kralove

The work is dedicated to solving the problem of domestic violence in Hradec Králové. The issue is seen from the practice in social work and provides insight into the stakeholders, namely the staff of the organizations or institutions of civil and public sector. The main focus is generally not only effective solution, but also specific assumptions success, and convenient tools, motivation and attitudes. Generally, all facts and factors affecting appropriate solution to the social problem in that region are examined. The approach of Hradec Králové appears to be an example of good practice, while the research seeks to clarify what is really involved. The view of the main involved actors, their motives and ways to engage themselves is also relevant. The first part describes the theoretical background, current approaches and solutions to institutional preconditions in terms of field research. The second part of the thesis based on research answers to research questions explains what exactly is behind the successful resolution of the issues. Fundraising is one of the most critical disciplines regarding the nongovernmental organization's market nowadays. Those who will master it are going to win the competition for the sustainability and freedom through the partnerships with the (major) donors. This thesis defines core of this process, it means the relationship between the NGO and it's fundraiser, and subsequently, between the fundraiser and any potential donor. Moreover, we are going to talk about the behavioral economy and couple of ways how we can use it in terms of Fundraising. Then the last part describes a bit from the Guerrilla marketing cuisine, as we can't do anything properly since we don't have any publicity about it.
Social Engagement in Two North-Bohemian Villages

In the Czech Republic little attention has been given to the research of civil society in rural areas. One of the fundamental preconditions for the development of civil society is engagement of citizens. The aim of this work is to explore social engagement, which is an important part of civic engagement, in two villages. The research was conducted in the north of the Czech republic, in the specific area of the former Sudetenland. Promoting social engagement may be one of the factors influencing the development of the Czech countryside, which is struggling with a long- term depopulation. Through in-depth interviews and document analysis the study argues about what are the main factors for social engagement and how social engagement contributes to the development of social capital.

The bachelor work writes about the Theater of the oppressed. Place this method to other paratheatrical systems, action research and techniques of social pedagogy. Trying to describe it, even with a summary of philosophical foundations. The aim of the research part is to map specific workshop of making theatre and experience of the participants. On them then describe processes that influenced an individual during the workshop in relation to oppression. Or reveal which elements are crucial in this work. Education of Seniors in Civil Society Organizations in the Czech Republic

Organisations of different type and legal status engage in senior education in the Czech Republic. Civil society organisations available online are not the dominant providers of educational courses and activities for seniors in the Czech Republic. Civil society organisations represent 17 % of all providers of educational courses available online. Six civil society organisations engaged in senior education were found in the region Vysočina. Participants of the educational courses consider all activities practised in these courses to be education because they learn new skills there. They appreciate these courses for the education itself, for meaningful free time spending and for the opportunity of active life even in the time of senescence. For nearly the most important point considered by the participants so as the organisators is connecting and broadening of social contacts of the participants and creating of social network. This can be considered for the most distinct manifestation of civil society concerning senior education.
