Cooperation berween selected secondary schools and memory institutions

The diploma thesis deals with the theme of the cooperation of selected secondary schools with memory institutions. In its theoretical part it defines memory institutions and sets them into legislative, historical and didactic context, as well as it concerns with organisational forms of teaching with the focus on the excursion, and teaching methods and methods used in programmes of memory institutions. The practical part familiarises with the research made by a questionnaire survey in selected secondary schools in Prague providing "maturita" graduation and with its results. The aim of this research was to realize if and how the cooperation with memory institutions is used at schools and how teachers and students perceive its benefit. The survey was accomplished in ten Prague schools. The sample was both in terms of quantity and course of study unrepresentative, but we can consider the research as beneficial. Almost half of participating teachers use the cooperation with memory institutions during lessons. Those, who not, often see the benefit of the cooperation for other courses than for their own courses. Effect of the Adaptation Course and Form Teacher Lessons on the Climate in the Sixth Class in Lower Secondary School

This thesis examines change of classroom climate in lower secondary school. In the theoretical part, issues of classroom climate, experiential pedagogy, adaptation courses and form teacher lessons are described from the perspective of different authors. The thesis introduces basic approaches for diagnosing classroom climate. It also gives instructions for management of form teacher lessons. B-3 questionnaire determines the current classroom climate and subsequent effects of the adaptation course among the respondents. Form teacher lessons are reported in this thesis, whose effect is also measured by the B-3 questionnaire in a longer period of the adaptation course. The results of the questionnaire investigation point to the need for regular form teacher lessons, in which the formation of a friendly climate in the classroom is realized.

Symptoms, Causes and Overcoming Burnout among Teaching Staff

This thesis deals with burnout among teaching staff, its symptoms, causes and possibilities of overcoming. The theoretical part describes the teaching profes- sion and shows its strenuousness. It also focuses on the personality of teachers and their ethical principles. It describes the required core competencies of tea- chers and, equally important, the need for professional self-realization, which, if fulfilled, can help prevent burnout. The author analyzes the symptomatology of burnout syndrome, its causes, risk factors, stages and ways of prevention. The practical part examines the main factors influencing teachers' professional fulfillment, their place on an imaginary scale of personal preferences, and if the teachers perceived them negatively or positively. It also tries to determine whether there is a link between the professional and personal satisfaction of teachers as a possible prevention of burnout.
