A laboratory task to verify the properties of audio devices
Staňková, Karolína ; Marcoň, Petr (referee) ; Mikulka, Jan (advisor)
The aim of this thesis is familiarization with the parameters of an audio device and their measurements according to the standards (AES17-2018 and ČSN EN 60268-3). A laboratory task for the Measurement in Audio Engineering course is designed, based on the study of the standards. The first part of the thesis deals with detailed analysis of the measurements of different parameters of audio device. The described procedures are consequently employed to design the laboratory task. The second part of this thesis is dedicated to design the laboratory task. The automatized system based on HP VEE platform was developed to provide the multiple measurement. The attachments of this thesis contain the student’s manual for the laboratory task, the sample protocol, the testing measurement manual and the sample protocol for the testing measurement.
Using GPGPU in MR Data Processing
Mikulka, J. ; Slíž, J. ; Bartušek, Karel
The main tissue parameters targeted by MR tomography include, among others, relaxation times T-1 and T-2. This paper focuses on the computation of the relaxation time T-2 measured with the Spin Echo method. The maxima of measured echoes must be interleaved with an exponential function to compute the T2 relaxation. As this procedure needs to be repeated for each pixel of the scanned tissue, the processing of large images then becomes very intensive. This paper introduces the results provided by accelerated computation based on parallelization and carried out with a graphics card. By using the simple method of linear regression, we obtain a processing time of less than 36 ms. In the case of the Levenberg-Marquardt algorithm, the reconstruction was done in 96 ms. This period is at least 900 times shorter than that achievable with professional software.

Detection algorithms of moving objects
Novotný, Josef ; Mikulka, Jan (referee) ; Marcoň, Petr (advisor)
This work deals with detection methods of moving objects. This thesis contains a research of available solutions for further implementation on the Raspberry Pi using the OpenCV library. The aim of the thesis is to realize a module that is capable of detecting and recognizing moving objects in the sky. Required objects can be detected in static or dynamic mode. In the theoretical part of the thesis are methods divided into motion detection, object detection and object recognition. In the practical part were for detection of undesired objects selected a background subtraction method and the localization of significant ORB points. Haar feature-based cascade classifiers was for recognition of learned objects chosen. In the practical part, methods were of computational difficulty and detection success tested. The result is an automatic detection device that allows to watch and distinguish unwanted objects in the sky.
THD Analyzer
Ha, Tuan ; Drexler, Petr (referee) ; Mikulka, Jan (advisor)
This thesis deals with design of a THD analyzer for audio frequency. In the interduction, there is a description of methods of THD calculation and realization of THD analyzer. Suitable computing platform must be chosen with capability to process audio data. The expansion board is designed for audio acquisition. Part of this design is complete program that is capable of displaying spectrum and computing THD.
Laser source with fiber-optic output
Roupec, Tomáš ; Mikulka, Jan (referee) ; Drexler, Petr (advisor)
This term project deals with the semiconductor laser components, and how it works. Additionally, there is an optical fiber ant networking with laser. It is written of power and cooling laser diodes and such information suggested the possible involvement of the laser diode. At the end of this work is designed laser´s exciter with charging and adjacent circuits.
Persuasive Communication of Food Companies in Educative Sphere
Mikulka, Jan ; Klabíková Rábová, Tereza (advisor) ; Klimeš, David (referee)
This bachelor thesis Persuasive Communication of Food Companies in Educative Sphere presents communication activities, which food companies exert on students of culinary schools, the future professionals of gastronomy. The aim is to describe persuasive techniques, which food companies use to influence students. The project contains descriptive analysis of language form used in commercials in textbooks for students. The issue of commercials in textbook is also included and described in general. The project contains statement of a Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports employee, author of one of the textbooks, and professional chefs.
A System for Eye Movement Tracking
Práce rovněž posuzuje vlastnosti systému a nabízí připadná rozšíření.
3D Slicer Extension for Tomographic Images Segmentation
Chalupa, Daniel ; Jakubíček, Roman (referee) ; Mikulka, Jan (advisor)
This work explores machine learning as a tool for medical images' classification. A literary research is contained concerning both classical and modern approaches to image segmentation. The main purpose of this work is to design and implement an extension for the 3D Slicer platform. The extension uses machine learning to classify images using set parameters. The extension is tested on tomographic images obtained by nuclear magnetic resonance and observes the accuracy of the classification and usability in practice.
Ultrasonic Directional Speaker
Sedlák, Jiří ; Michalec, Jaroslav (referee) ; Mikulka, Jan (advisor)
The master´s thesis deals with theoretical research and practical application of the principle of spreading acoustic waves through nonlinear medium. The theoretical part describes five different types of amplitude modulation and their mathematic representation, which were verified by the program Matlab. Next, the impedance characteristic of ultrasound PZT transducer was measured and the design of PWM modulator and class D amplifier was described. The practical part of the master´s thesis contains the realization of the parametric loudspeaker assembled from the class D amplifier and the PWM modulator. In conclusion, the designed parametric loudspeaker was measured and the individual types of amplitude modulation were compared with respect to the total harmonic distortion of transmitted useful signal.
