Modification of clamping part of the test machine RUMUL Cracktronic 160
Beran, Pavel ; Hutař, Pavel (referee) ; Mazal, Pavel (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with the structural design of the chucking jaws for RUMUL Cracktronic 160 testing machine. This apparatus is used in the fatigue laboratory of Institute of Machine Design FME BUT. Simplification, speed improvement and better test sample griping are expected gains of the new clamping system. Solidworks system is used to create 3D model of the jaws. Stress analysis is created by Finite element method in ANSYS Workbench software.

The aim of the project is to create a list of test strojůpro mechanical tests, available on the FSI. List will include the technical parameters of machines or equipment, the place where the test machine is a possible contact persons who have the responsibility of equipment. The task of this work is to raise awareness of the instrumentation equipment within the FSI VUT
Eddy Current Probe Design and its Application on Aircraft Composite Structures
Boháčová, Marie ; Hájek, Karel (referee) ; Kopec, Bernard (referee) ; Mazal, Pavel (advisor)
This thesis deals with design of an eddy current transducer which enables non-destructive inspection of composite aircraft structures primarily carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP) in areas of manufacture and maintenance. The design of the transducer is based on analytical-experimental approach and its electrical and mechanical parameters were optimized to ensure a good signal to noise ratio at the six composite samples. These samples contain artificial discontinuities in the form of various types of defects. These defects are simulating the various types of damage created in the aircraft structure, especially delamination or thickness changes of composite materials. The experimental measurements, data collection and non-destructive evaluation were performed during the period. The result of this work is functional eddy current probe, which is reliably able to detect some damage of the carbon composite structures to the depth of 3,9 mm.
Ramps and other devices for the entrance of handicapped to the buses
Pavlo, Matej ; Nohál, Libor (referee) ; Mazal, Pavel (advisor)
The bachelor work brings the critical assessment of the construction solutions of the aids for boarding of the physically handicapped persons in the busses of the municipal mass transportation and at the same time it deals with design of some tipping ramp variants, which try to improve the faults of the present ramps. The first part contains the review of the present situation of the aids for boarding and entrance of the physically handicapped persons. The second part contains the designs of the construction solutions, which could be of use in the busses of the municipal mass transportation. And in the last part are these designs reviewed and compared each other.
Granulating machine of phosphate powder
Kománek, Jiří ; Mazal, Pavel (referee) ; Brandejs, Jan (advisor)
The aim of this project is to create a suitable machine for granulation of phosphate powders. Production requirements to this machine are 4.5 t/h with 1-2 mm granularity. The list of all possible machines is introduced in first part of this paper. Measurement results of five different phosphate powders were summarized in the second part of the paper. These results specify requirements to the selected machine. In the third and last section the list of all recent companies offering granular technologies was set up.
Identification of changes in surface texture of the selected materials by the method of acoustic emission
Eliáš, Jan ; Bumbálek, Bohumil (referee) ; Mazal, Pavel (advisor)
This Bachelor thesis deals with monitoring changes in surface roughness of moving metal objects rubbing each other on selected parameters of acoustic emissions. Parameters of the AE signal during the movement of bronze and cast iron bodies on the surface of a fixed steel rod were measured, recorded and analyzed. These results can serve for further research on assessment possibilites of the degree of wear of a surface using the AE method. Measuring was performed using a measuring product intended for AE and the Dakel sensors and measuring software.
Mechanical design of the supporting frame for a satellite antenna system
Hrdonka, Štěpán ; Mazal, Pavel (referee) ; Paloušek, David (advisor)
The aim of the Bachelor thesis is to create a structural drawing of a satellite dish supporting frame. The supporting frame will allow the dish to be mounted on a car. A part of the project is also to create a drawing of a rotating mount that will allow the satellite parabole to rotate around its vertical axis. Construction of the frame is designed to withstand required wind load and to prevent its sag from fundamentally influencing the signal quality. The stress-strain analysis has been carried out by using the Finite Element Method (FEM). Under the influence of the moment of 440 N.m around the –x axis and of gravitational force of 442 N the final maximal sag was 1.6 mm. The rotating mount is constructed in a way that requires only minimal maintenance and is able to withstand adverse weather conditions. That was accomplished by a suitible selection of materials. As the thesis is a part of mobile satellite prototype development, the project is designed in a way considering the final price and easy installation. Another part of the thesis is to create drawing documentation.
Basic reasons of bearings damage and their diagnostics
Schreier, Jan ; Vaverka, Michal (referee) ; Mazal, Pavel (advisor)
This bachelor`s thesis analyzes failures, that may occur on rolling bearings and their causes. In particular, it focuses on the source of the silure, as well as its type and mechanism. Furthermore, this thesis outlines the basic methods used for diagnostics of rolling bearings including their advantages, disadvantages and possible aplications.
Correlation of AE Signal Changes to Rolling Contact Damage Propagation
Nohál, Libor ; Čermák, Jan (referee) ; Hájek, Karel (referee) ; Hutař, Pavel (referee) ; Mazal, Pavel (advisor)
This PhD thesis deals with the experimental study of more precise rolling contact fatigue damage detection using acoustic emission method. A series of experiments was carried out on two representatives bearing steels and the analysis of sensitivity for the presence of contact damage was performed on selected parameters of acoustic emission. The extent of damage was classified into four classes and signal parameters the most characterizing the development of damage were correlated with the extent of damage. It was also verified the influence of lubricants on acoustic emission signals. The results have an impact on the implementation of more precise rolling contact fatigue tests and evaluation of parameters of acoustic emission signal. On the basis of experiments was established methodology for more precise RCF testing method using acoustic emission on test-rig AXMAT II.
Design of microscope positioning
Donabauer, Petr ; Mazal, Pavel (referee) ; Čudek, Vladimír (advisor)
This Bachelor thesis deals with design and realization of the industrial modular microscope positioning stand in two axis vertical at each other for providing vertical drop of units at measurement. In term of survey of present state are proposed possible solutions followed by selection of the most optimal one and then its construction process. Design documentation is part of this work.
