Information Service Delivery - IT Service Continuity Managment

This thesis deals with the aspects of managing the business continuity by the methodologies of ITIL and Cobit. The main thesis objective is to find out if there exists one general aplicable solution of the business continuity managment process based on the relative approach comparison and integration of both methodologies and afterwards to define this general solution. The secondary thesis objective is to try to specify the problem issue, which is not covered neither one of those methodologies and then integrate it into this general solution. The purpose of first chapter is to analyze and generally describe the business continuity managment area, its relation with IT Service Managment, to define all key issue terms and to give a best practice review dealing with this field. In the following chapters there is a detailed look at the concrete individual approaches of metodics ITIL and Cobit to the area of business continuity managment. The final chapter deals with approach comparison of both methodologies based on by author defined key fields as target group, enterprise type, terminology, mature models, metrics, concept and relative mapping of relevant points. The chapter provides the general complex solution guideline of this issue by simultaneous implementation of both methodologies as well. This is the main contribution of this work. The next contribution consists in the definition of irrational employee behaviour problem during disaster and its integration to this general guidelines.
Software instruments for modeling business processes

The main objective of this thesis is to present and describe software tools for modelling of business processes. The first part is focused on questions about process modelling, where you can find detailed definition of terms like business process, re-engineering and modelling of business processes. In the second part I put brain to concrete tools, which are available on the market. There is a detailed description of functionality of each tool. In the last part I was dealt with creation of business process with those tools and consequently compare them according to created models and other criteria.
The issue of RTO and RPO in business continuity management

This thesis is concerned about Business Continuity Management with the focus on determination of the RTO and RPO parameters. The work is divided into two main parts. The first section briefly describes theoretical issues of Business Continuity Management in conjunction with IT Service Continuity Management. Then there are described various technologies that are currently used to ensure continuity and recovery of IT systems. In conclusion of the theoretical part, the work focuses on the process of Business Impact Analysis. This thesis thus offers a comprehensive view of main principles and benefits that these concepts have for company and how they should be integrated with each other. It provides an overview of various technologies, their link to RTO and RPO parameters and also the definition of steps of disaster recovery procedure. The work also briefly defines the basic procedure for determination of the RTO and RPO parameters, subsequent steps needed to design recovery solutions and analyzes various aspects which need to be considered when defining the parameters of continuity. The second practical part is based on the previous theoretically defined procedure and its aim is to analyze the data acquired during the questionnaire investigation in chosen company to determine the parameters of continuity for the applications in use and then suggest appropriate ways of addressing their backup and recovery. The result of this thesis is therefore a description of the analysis and practical application of methods for setting the parameters for continuity of information systems and the subsequent establishment of necessary measures.
Business Continuity Management and IT

The aim of this thesis executes a service continuity analysis in a real company. To achieve this we must lay certain theoretical bases, first of all in Business Continuity Management area and that in comprehending its significance for the organisation, understanding its implementing and its consequent operative management. The following part sums up theoretical knowledge in Business Continuity Management branch called IT Service Continuity Management. IT Service Continuity Management is specifically focused on continuity in providing IT services, which play a key role in continuity preserving nowadays. It is even more so as the majority of business processes are supported by information and communication technologies today. Understanding the basic terms creates only a theoretical basis for the next part, which focuses on strategy analysis of preserving service continuity in a specific company. The greatest benefit of this thesis will be, based on the knowledge achievement, executing a practical IT Service Continuity Plan analysis in a real company located on the Czech market. The whole plan will be analysed and evaluated and recommendations for potential improvement in the plan's efficiency increase will be suggested where applicable. General conclusion shall be drawn based on this analysis.
Software tools for modeling business processes

Thesis focuses on comparing the two tools for modeling business processes -- Microsoft Visio and ARIS Express in aspect of their usability for students of the subject 4IT215 -- Information Systems Analysis and Design. Thesis contains a brief description of each tool and their application to the selected requirements of the subject 4IT215 -- Information Systems Analysis and Design that must students complete during the semester. The benefit of this thesis is establishment of criteria (according requirements of the course) for comparison of these tools. Result of comparison has been supplemented by expression of students, who chose in the questionnaire (among others) the most appropriate tool for fulfilling all the tasks and requirements of the course. Objectives of thesis were achieved through studying literature, subjective selecting and evaluating criteria and objective contribution of students of the subject 4IT215 -- Information Systems Analysis and Design.

Then is work focus on subject field personalities and acquaint with theories typology from known authors plus describes tests personalities, which there're: method MBTI, Hogan personality test , Belbin team roles. Next part is devoted to cognitive psychology, performance tests and illustration conception of intelligence. Are there circumscribed tests attention, creativity and intelligence. Follows presentation company providing software services and productions for profiling personalities. Project manager are advised preferable tools for his work.
Business continuity management and virtual machines

The aim of this work is to provide a basic overview of ways to improve business continuity management and planning using virtualization. First, the reader is briefly introduced to the concept of Business continuity management and the concept of virtualization. Then the relationship between these two areas is analyzed. Finally, I chose to analyze a set of utilities, which come with VMware vSphere product, which is the product of VMware Company. The aim of the practical part is to verify the functionality of some of these tools.
Analysis of business processes (concrete company of own choice)

The main aim of the work is to analyze business processes in a particular company. At the beginning of the work, there is briefly described the introduction to the theory of the process modelling. Next there is a narration of the specific methodology chosen and the process modelling tool. Finally, there is the process model of a concrete company. The benefits of the work should encompass the connection in the theoretical knowledge of the modelling process with the practical experience of the modelling process directly in a real business. Another benefit should be presented by the usage of the actual process model in the company mentioned.
Business Process Management as management method

The goal of the paper is to find suitable management method for a small service-oriented company. This management method is using business process management approach and is compared with other chosen management methods. The management method is used for implementing business process management into this small company. Benefit of this paper is to compare chosen management methods by defined criteria with business process management and especially to implement business process management into small company which is looking for solution to get out of its crisis due to external and internal factors. The paper is divided into three parts. First part summarises principles of business process management and methods of its implementation. In the second part there is specification of business process management compared with other management methods. Practical third part of this paper contains description of implementation method in this particular company.
Standards and methodics of Business Process Modelling

This thesis is a recherché of some significant standards and methodics of Business Process Modeling. The importance of Business Processes, Process Management and Process Modeling has significantly increased over the past years and is thus becoming one of the key competitiveness factors of an organization. Business Process Modeling is not only used on the field of analysis and optimization of Business Processes and Business Process Reengineering, but also in the areas of inter-company cooperation, Business Information Systems and Web services. The thesis describes following standards and methodics: IDEF, UML, BPMN, BPML, BPEL, EPC, ARIS, MMABP. It also suggests a procedure, which the company can follow while selecting a suitable standard and a general classification of standards.
