Quality of life of patient with cranial spinal lesion in spinal unit

17 Abstract Title: Quality of life of patients with transverse lesions of the cervical spinal cord at spinal unit. Aims: This thesis aims to evaluate the quality of life of patients with transverse cervical spinal injury treated with an elaborate system of comprehensive rehabilitation in the Spinal Unit, Regional Hospital in Liberec. Methods: In 10 men aged 24-65 years (average age was 47,5 years), with incomplete transverse lesions of traumatic cervical spinal cord, hospitalized at the spinal unit have been established neurological level and extent of spinal cord injury by ASIA scores, were evaluated using the functional level of independence SCIM scores and the questionnaire on quality of life using a standardized questionnaire SF 36 with additional questions. The objective methods were used walking tests. Examination and questionnaire survey was carried out on admission at the spinal unit, and upon discharge after completion of a comprehensive rehabilitation program. It was watched the change in subjective quality of life of patients who underwent a comprehensive rehabilitation program. Results: In 9 patients (90 %) occurred during hospitalization, to improve the level of neurological lesions in 2 of which (20 %) men were full treatment of neurological disability. Title of the thesis: The status of sport in primary drug prevention for students in upper primary school. Aim of the thesis: The aim of the thesis is to map the relation of drugs and students of upper primary school and to evaluate the role of sport in drug prevention. Methodology: The project was conceived as a questionnaire survey in which 161 students from 6th to 9th grade of a primary school participated. Data were obtained once in a particular primary school during a special lesson, which took place in all classes at the same time. Conclusion: The results show that there is inclination and the number of opportunities to experiment increasing with the age of students. Despite all the worries of the society about the setup of the young generation, it is possible to state that there is a minimum of really threatened individuals. The bid of drugs is almost unlimited in these days, yet the young people do not get hooked as it could look on the very first sight. The inclination to experience something new is and always has been one of the main characters of adolescence and the role of older generations is to offer alternatives that are more interesting than mere chemically induced changes of consciousness. Title ofthesis : Cryotherapy is oppurtunity for the regeneration ofsportsmen Goal of the project : To map and compare information of c:ryotherapy center and places that provide c:ryotherapy application in the Czech Republic. Ifthere is a regulary and properly train information of cold effect for body and prove to provide. On the basis ofthis is determination the quality of information giving to clients and experience ofsportsmen clients at information about influence of cold and this procedure. To find out how the method is used and whether are conditions an fulfiled. The getting dates of particular items was evaluated by qualitative method. Results : This reseach charted cryotherapy centres in the Czech Republic. There was established professional skill specialists served in each of all questionnairy cryotherapy centres. However safety ofthe clients is provided in part only. Regeneration - possibilities and utilisation at assault police units

Goals: Goals of this thesis was to determine informedness and exploitation of the regeneration procedures at the assault police units in Czech Republic and eventually in foreign special units. Next goal was deeper and more comprehensive review about possible regeneration procedures. With aim to document these newly obtained informations and present them to the police units as trustworthy for next use. This part was aimed to ease the access to the policemen to the informations in this area, to outline the advantages and encourage them to the use of the regeneration procedures, to protection of health and for increase the effectiviness of the preparation for their demanding work. Method: For determination of the use of regeneration procedures at police assault units we have used questionare method. Questionare has been sent to the seven assault police units in Czech republic and to the four foreign special units in European Union countries. Results: Results shows that most demanding activity is physical training, most frequent injuries are injuries of the extremities and joints. Mostly used regenaration procedures are sauna and massage. 5 Abstract Title: Evaluation of changes in the locomotor apparatus of soldiers after applying the elements of health and physical education during a three-month intervention Aim of the Thesis: To emphasize the meaning of health and physical education conduct (hereinafter referred to as health and PE), to apply a set of common health and PE elements during the three-month intervention, to assess the changes in the locomotor apparatus of experimental groups and control groups, and according to the results obtained, to recommend health and physical education as an integral part included in the system of military physical education and training. Methods Used: Empirical approach and research methods were used in this thesis. The concept of a quasi-experiment was used in the research too. The research had three phases: introductive muscle examination, intervention and final muscle examination, followed by a questionnaire. The examined package comprising 60 soldiers was divided into two experimental groups (2 x 20 soldiers) and one control group (20 soldiers). The testing method assessed the locomotor apparatus state of the examined group. Motional activity of people with elephantiasis

T~pic: Motional activity of people with elephantiasis. Goal of the thesis: To evaluate and compare the impact of motional activity on elephantiasis ofarms and legs. Methods: The thesis was worked out as a case study. Sixteen patients participating at lymphodrainage filled the generic questionnaire SF-36. Six people with physical problems were observed during their regular motional activity during six months. The source ofadditional data were taken from the standard medical documentation. The data were evaluated through defmed evaluation criteria and through standard statistical methods. Rusults: The motional activity has positive impact on reduction of elephantiasis and is a part of complex treatment. The active approach of the patient is essential for the success of the whole therapy. The motional activity in a group had a very positive psychical impact on the patients. Heterogeneity of the group - with regards to the intensity and seriousness ofthe disease- stimulated itself and other people's cognition and gave impuls and motivation for the motional activity.
