Acculturation strategies and negotiation of identity in individuals with migration experience

The diploma thesis focuses on the acculturation strategies which are used by young adults belonging to Vietnamese ethnic minority in long-term contact with majority. The main goal of the study is to analyze negotiation of identity in young adults from families with migration experience. The research question is how they reflect own previous and recent experiences and I strive to understand what meaning it has for them. In the theoretical part, I introduced the basic concepts and theories of acculturation psychology, acculturation strategies, development of identity, ethnic identity, context of ethnic communities, etc. Furthermore I deal with a number of significant links which have influence to formation of identity, for example family background, attitudes towards their own culture, possibilities for cultural transmission, language skills, context of majority. Thanks to autobiographical narratives we can see the way of daily negotiation of the identity at the young adult ethnic Vietnamese. By using the biographical design method, we will look at the strategies of acculturation, the view of actors and the subjective meanings of moments in their lives. This thesis deals with the institute of summary preliminary proceedings. The introduction of this work briefly outlines the evolution of the legislation, which was the impulse for conducting the summary preliminary proceedings, and the reason for the introduction of this institute. The author defines the concept of summary preliminary proceedings in relation to other forms of preliminary proceedings and proceedings taking place before court. Further on the author tries to capture the essence and meaning of the summary preliminary proceedings. The work introduces the current legislation of the institute and its use under other criminal laws. The work defines the basic principles of summary preliminary proceedings. The author discusses the statutory conditions for holding summary preliminary proceedings. At the same time she defines the subjects of summary preliminary proceedings, their status, specific rights and obligations. Within this work, the emphasis is placed on the issue of time-limits, especially the determination of commencement and completion of summary preliminary proceedings and its length. Homophobia among student groups from the teacher's perspective

This bachelor thesis focuses on how school teachers perceive the issue of homophobia among student groups. The aim of this work was to explore the thoughts and impressions of homophobia in school environment from the perspective of elementary school and grammar school teachers. The theoretical part is divided into three chapters. The first chapter describes the concept of sexuality and defines its particular components and basic information about homosexuality. I especially focused on the sociological-cultural concept of sexuality and its relation to homophobia. Second chapter discusses the changes in cognitive, affective and social development during adolescence. Last chapter focuses on the subject of sexuality and homophobia in school environment and addresses the issue of homophobic harassment and bullying. In the empirical part I described my research and analyzed semi-structured interviews with elementary and grammar school teachers. I mainly focused on exploring their experience with specific manifestations of homophobia in school environment, and on their attitudes towards that issue. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)
