School as a Community Center - the Reality and Possibilities of Development of Community Education

This thesis deals with the community schools in the Czech Republic and the possibilities of their development. Firstly, it defines basic concepts like community education in an international context and the notion of community schools itself. Secondly, it discusses certain theoretical assumptions and presuppositions as well as current challenges of development of the community schools. The research is based on a multiple case study and it describes the current situation of selected community schools. The current situation of the schools is compared to their situation and conditions six years ago. Basing on the diachronic comparison using the academic document "Analysis of environment in the Czech Republic and the possibility of the development of community schools" of 2008, the research revealed that community concepts in schools are almost unchanged. Finally, the work challenges possible causes of this stagnation of development. Practise of helping profession and risks of beginning burnout

These days, with life comes complicated situations that one have to face every day. We all face stres, which in certain moments leeds to burnout. We are talking here about people working above their limits and don't know how to properly relax. Affected professions include especially helping proffesions, which means saniatrists, teachers, social workers and others. Actually, we can count any profession as affectable with burnout. To make sure our everyday stress situations will not lead to burnout, we need to precede it. Effective measures against burnout include healthy lifestyle, lots of human realitionships, upkeeping fair life environment, relaxation, etc.
Pedagogical view on the upbringing of children by homosexual couples

This Master's Thesis approaches the phenomen of upbringing of children by lesbian and gay couples. It deals with primary school teachers' attitude to the question of homosexuality and homoparentality. In the theoretical part, the issues such as family, gender, gender role and identity are introduced. Thereafter the work is focused on the concept of gay and lesbian families, the legal aspects of homoparentality and the possible approach to parenting by the same-sex couples. The thesis also presents some of the realized researches into homoparentality. Part of these studies covers a potentional influence of upbringing by same- sex parents on child's development. Second part comprises the researches focused on parental experience of gays and lesbian women. The last chapter of theoretical part deals with the conception of homosexuality and education at schools. The aim of the practical part is to find out what the attitude of primary school teachers to homosexuality and homoparentality is really like, whether and how these topics are taught and how the attitude of teachers is reflected in teaching/lessons. Sociopedagogic preparation of volunteers

Volunteering is a manner of helping people, usually provided within a framework of some organization. Diploma thesis "Sociopedagogic preparation of volunteers" is aimed at work with volunteers in Oblastní charita Žďár nad Sázavou. The thesis is focused on following topics: Volunteering in general, Volunteering and law, Volunteering within Diecézní charita Brno, Kambala - Volunteer centre, Methodology of work with volunteers, Volunteering and personal development, Manual of volunteering. This thesis also offers suggestions how to recruit, lead, develop and controll volunteers within an organization simile to Oblastní charita Žďár nad Sázavou. In its final results, the diploma thesis led to the creation of an organized picture of work with volunteers within our organization and to the creation of the manual of volunteering, which supports the systematic work with volunteers and comes out of their Leeds. The diploma thesis oves not only the sociopedagogic, but also the management point of view. The theory and findings included in this thesis, can help various organizations and associations, which start to work with volunteers and search for inspiration how to lead them.
Family as factor influencing socially - patological behaviour of the child

Diploma work "Family as factor influencing socially-patological behaviour of the child" is compiled teoretical ly and scienti fically. Teoretical part deal in fami ly and its relations concerned. Prel iminarily it describes some patological phenomenons which signi ficantly influnce the development of the family.Basic functions of family as well as its fail rures are desribed.Also some of undesi rable mani festations of behaviour of particular members of family are desribed.Teoretical part of diploma work shows the relation between disfunction of the family and inception of patological behaviour of individuals.Suicide,missuse of drugs,problems connected with deliquent behaviour and penitenciar t reatment are evaluated as the most dangerous for human and for the society as a whole. The telephone crisis intervention and its importance due to difficult life fituations solving

Graduation theses is composed as a theoretical paper and is divided into six chapters. First chapter is focused on concept of crisis. Beside the explication of the concept of crisis, it also describes types of crises according to Baldwin. Posibilities of help in crisis are mentioned at the end of the first chapter. Second chapter is concerned with crisis intervention and it begins with its brief history. It also describes its forms, principals and phases. Third chapter defines and analyses telephonical crisis intervention. As in the previous chapter, it also begins with both czech and world history of telephonical crisis intervention. Other paragraphs describe its advantages and disadvantages. Following paragraphs outline stages of telephonical crisis intervention and a dealing with emotions at helpline. Fourth chapter presents the personality of the telephonical crisis intervention worker and it also mentions problem of burnout. Fifth chapter contains the most common topics of helpline callings. Last, sixth chapter, is focused on analysis of real practical case.
Expectations of young men and women in partner relationships with an emphasis on meeting the emotional needs

The aim of this thesis is to provide the generationally authentic view of the issue of young men's and women's relationships with the focus on mapping their expectations and emotional needs satisfaction. The theoretical part describes the period of young adulthood that is specific exactly to a relationship build-up. The next part of the paper focuses on the phenomenon of love, problems of a partner choice and men's and women's specific expectations and emotional needs. The last chapter covers sexuality that is a natural part of relationships. The thematic areas are always accompanied by a pedagogical point of view because education has the significant impact in a partnerships formation. The practical part contains the survey of 60 respondents. The subject was young men's and women's expectations in a relationship. The main goal was to determine which expectations young men and women start a relationship with. The key result is the fact that men and women have different expectations in a relationship but they agree about the expectation of mutual love and understanding.
Internal and external determinants of the child's moral development

The main goal of this work is to describe both the internal and external determinants which influence a child's moral development. In the introductory chapter, the term morality is defined, as well as are other terms connected with the topic of this work: values and their classification, good character, selflessness and social behaviour. In the following parts important moral developmental theories are described. Special attention is given to Kohlberg's moral developmental theory. The chapter called Internal Determinants of Child's Moral Development deals with the psychological categories of intelligence, moral reasoning, moral action and motivation. Its subsection presents the various definitions of the term conscience. At the end of the chapter, the difference of moral reasoning between women and men is stated. The following chapter External Determinants of Child's Moral Development focuses on key social factors - the influence of family and school environment being the most important one. The role of non-profit organisations in determining leisure time activity of children and adolescent youth

In the first part, it discussess adolescence from the point of view of psychology and sociology. The next part attempts to define the key concepts: peer group, free time and non-profit sector and following comes an overview of organisations providing leisure time activities to adolescents, including the non-profit organisations. The empirical part presents results of a small enquiry, which was carried to find out how adolescents really spend their leisure time, what organisations assist them in that and how they learn about these possibilities. Last but not least, it also investigated whether and to what extent are they satisfied with the currently available options.
Bullying in elementary school

This Masters Thesis attempts to link theoretical questions about agressiveness and bullying with practical mapping of the current situation and to present possible solutions. The theoretical part concerning agressiveness starts with various experts' theories of human behavior and progresses to describe contemporary problematic social phenomena such as pornography, media violence, addictive substances and virtual reality, which have been understood as factors increasing agressive behavior. Bullying, as a specific type of agressive behavior, is further described in the context of elementary schools. Theoretical framework of bullying is complemented with mapping of specific institutions involved in finding solutions to bullying in the Czech Republic. The last chapter presents information resources available to pedagogical staff within the Czech educational system who are interested in this socio-pathological phenomenon or must deal with it.
