Practice Enterprise as a Way of Acquiring Foreign Languages

TITLE: Practice Enterprise as a Way of Acquiring Foreign Languages AUTHOR: Simona Pecková DEPARTMENT: Department of the French Language and Literature SUPERVISOR: Dr.PhDr. Renáta Listíková, MCF ABSTRACT: The thesis deals with the potential that the subject called practice enterprise represents for acquisition of foreign languages. The aim of the work is to carry out a survey of the present situation, to find about the pupils' level of business language and also to discover what their attitude to the practice enterprise and their motivation to study foreign languages are. By focussing the language instruction on working life, we want to enhance their competitiveness on the labour market. Quantitative research methods are combined here with qualitative ones. Concerning the tools of research, we used didactic test, questionnaire, interview and focus group. We have found out that the practice enterprise has a positive influence on students' level of foreign languages. However, no connection between practice enterprise and pupils' attitude to foreign languages and their motivation to study them has been proved. Destiny of French as a Language of Diplomacy: Situation in the Czech Republic

The Diploma thesis deals with the current status of French as a language of diplomacy and with the role and the position of French in the Czech Republic. The goal of the theoretical part is to define the term diplomacy, to summarize significant periods of French language in the history of diplomacy, to deal with the factors which influence language status and to observe competitors of French. It focuses on six selected languages: English, Spanish, Russian, German, Arabic and Chinese. It is trying to show the particularities of French as a diplomatic language. In the practical part, its goal is firstly to outline diplomatic organizations in our country and to describe their function. On the basis of the latest statistics and other collected data by means of interviews, the thesis illustrates the changes which can be traced in the language recently. Concerning the Czech Republic, it shows the changes caused by the accession to the EU and by the introduction of the CEFRL. In the end, it suggests three possible hypotheses of subsequent development of the French language in the world. Abstract: Louis Leger, french Slavophile, Slavicist and promoter of Czech issues in France in the second half of the 19th century, led correspondence with leading figures of the French nation as well as with the personalities of the Slavic word. Leger's correspondence with the Czech national elite is evidence of his interest in the Czech issue. Correspondence written in Czech and French is stored in the Literary Archive of the Museum of Czech Literature in Prague. The aim of this thesis is to discuss the Leger's written correspondence and present its contents to readers with regard to the historical context.
Painting off imperial court in France at 19th century

The objective of this bachelor thesis is to outline the creation of paintings in the 19th century during the reign of Napoleon I. as emperor and try to understand it in the historical context. Before we will characterize the era of empire, we mention in the first part the previous period - the monarchy and as well the period since revolution to the empire with theirs aesthetics ideas. This way we can to understand better the new established aesthetic of painting of empire called the Empire style. The Empire style we define in the second part and at the same time we present its concretes painters. We will compare the style of painting at the court of emperor Napoleon I. and the monarch Louis XIV. Because the personality of Napoleon wasn't always associated with ta popularity, we will introduce in the last section of theory the caricaturists of emperor. In the practical part we will deal first the concretes motifs of empire style by show them in the creation of painters the empire style. We will compare the portrait style of Napoleon I. with the portrait of Louis XIV. Finally we will introduce some off concretes works off caricaturists. Linguistic and didactic interpretation of translation

This thesis is focused on the linguistic and didactic interpretation of translation. Its objective is to introduce the reader to the issues of language-focused findings, which are reflected in translators' work and besides, to describe the situation of didactic contribution of translation in second language teaching. The work is divided ino two main parts. In the first one, there is translators' work and his competences being presented on the ground of chosen linguistic theories. These are further extended by a practical part of description and analysis of translation methods. The whole thesis is being closed by the second part which mediates the didactic point of view of the given issue. The basic overview facts of actual situation of the use of translation in modern language classes are summarized in here.

The aim of this thesis is to explain the circumstances of his life and political career, which remain unknown to many and to find the causes of his fall out of favour with Louis XIV. This work is structured chronologically and divided in accordance with Nicolas Fouquet's life stages. After introducing the historical context of the era, the focus will be on the beginning of the rapid growth of Fouquet's career and the circumstances due to which he became one of the major figures of 17th century France. Further chapters describe Fouquet's influential position as a leader, who inspired many artists and their work. The conclusion is devoted to his arrest and subsequent process, which is now being questioned on suspicion of falsifying evidence and corruption of the jury.
Claude Monet's collection of artwork in museum Marmottan

Title of the thesis: Claude Monet's collection of artwork in museum Marmottan Key words: Marmottan museum, Claude Monet, painting analysis, impressionism Abstract: This thesis offers a complete reconstruction of Claude Monet's artworks in the Parisian Marmottan museum. The first part of the thesis introduces the museum and the donators, thanks to whom the collection was established. In the following parts, we are paying attention to the life of Claude Monet, a French impressionist painter, and on the basis of individual life phases we present paintings from the artwork collection followed by their analysis. The chapters are mainly composed of the influences and inspirations of Monet's work and the development of his style. The artwork collection is chronologically ordered and maps the painter's work from its beginning all the way to its peak. We are starting from the childhood of Claude Monet and the discovery of his painting talent, followed by a chapter that focuses on impressionism, its technical aspects and beginnings and then we return back to Monet's first impressions up to its peak works.
