Possibilities and Limits of the Didactic Games Use in Chemistry Education at Grammar School: Redox reactions
Prokšová, Monika ; Bílek, Martin (advisor) ; Kuhnová, Marta (referee)
The thesis deals with the possibilities and limits in the activation of students when teaching chemistry as a general educational subject in grammar schools through didactic games in the thematic unit Redox Reactions. The use of didactic games in teaching should help students to acquire and better understand the relatively abstract subject matter, which undoubtedly includes redox reactions. Using didactic games, we also aim to improve students' attitudes towards the subject of chemistry. In the theoretical part the thesis describes the issue en-countered in the activation of students and their motivation to learn through didactic games. Furthermore, various activation methods are also presented here, where the main emphasis is mainly on didactic games. The practical part of the thesis in the introduction contains an analysis of the school education programs of selected gymnasiums, which focuses on the development of the thematic unit Redox reactions. In the next part, it is devoted to a set of 5 created didactic games on the selected topic (Redox reaction) inspiredby televisioncompe- titions or other well-known games that the relevant age group of students knows and uses. The set of didactic games will be created using so-called design research, i.e. in iterations from the prototype to the final...
The use of Augmented Reality in Chemistry Education at Lower Secondary School
Pospíšilová, Kristýna ; Bílek, Martin (advisor) ; Kuhnová, Marta (referee)
This diploma thesis deals with the use of elements of augmented reality in the teaching of chemistry at lower secondary school. We chose to use augmented reality in teaching because of the constant development of digital technologies and the effort to involve them more in education. In the theoretical part, we deal with the phenomenon of augmented reality and its use in education. We present several augmented reality applications that can be used in the teaching of chemistry, of which we focus more closely on the VividBooks applications, with which we work in the practical part. Furthermore, the theoretical part presents the topics of chemistry teaching in the framework educational programmes for lower secondary education (RVP ZV) and in the school educational programme (ŠVP) of the Velvary Elementary School, in which the AR VividBooks application was used and examined. We also describe the principles of the case study, which we used as a research method in the practical part. In the practical part, we started implementing a case study with introductory interviews with pupils and teaching assistants of the eighth grade of Velvary Elementary school. This was followed by six lessons using AR VividBooks applications in all three classes, during which we described the activity and reactions of the...
Packaging Technologies as a Topic of Integrated Thematic Instruction at Secondary School
Brožová, Simona ; Bílek, Martin (advisor) ; Kuhnová, Marta (referee)
Bachelor thesis focuses on packaging materials as a widely discussed environmental topic. The theoretical part of this thesis deals with basic information about packaging materials of different types, especially plastics. It includes information on the history, production, use, recycling, as well as the high presence of packaging materials in nature. In the second section of the theoritical part, the thesis focuses on the characteristics of Integrated Thematic Lessons, on the analysis of the Framework Educational Programmes for elementary education and gymnasiums and, last but not least, on the analysis of School Educational Programmes of selected schools. The part of the practical part of the bachelor thesis is a learning module based on Integrated Thematic Lessons called "Packaging Materials". It contains a summary of information on individual packaging materials and a proposal of activities aimed at ensuring the activation of pupils to obtain knowledge, skills and attitudes in the area. The developed learning module was reviewed by five teachers with different educational backgrounds, years of teaching experience and experience with project weeks. Their review shows that the learning module is suitable for the education of students in elementary school and gymnasium. However, despite this fact,...
