A Comparison of the Incidence of Burnout Symptoms among High School Teachers in Traditional and Alternative Education

The bachelor's thesis focuses on the comparison of the incidence of burnout symptoms among teachers in traditional and alternative high schools and the identification of possible connections of any differences. The topic of work stress and burnout is introduced, including stress management and self-care strategies and the specifics of teacher burnout. Then, traditional and alternative schools are defined and selected alternative school conceptions existing in the Czech Republic at the high school level are presented. Based on the similarities between the individual conceptions, the specifics of the work of teachers at alternative schools compared to traditional schools are subsequently identified in the thesis. In the context of the differences between alternative schools and traditional ones, the thesis then returns to the topic of teacher burnout and focuses on current research. The thesis contains an empirical research project, the goal of which is to compare the incidence of burnout among teachers working in traditional and alternative high schools. Symptoms of burnout among teachers were assessed using the Copenhagen burnout inventory (CBI) questionnaire. The effectiveness of social cognitive training in adults with ADHD symptoms

1 Abstract This thesis deals with the topic of social cognition and the possibilities of its training in adults with ADHD symptoms. The specifics of ADHD in adulthood are presented, along with the concrete manifestations of ADHD in relation to psychosocial functioning and emotions. The thesis follows with the topic of social cognition in ADHD and describes the specific domains of social cognition in which people with ADHD show deficits. Then the possibilities of social cognition training are presented along with existing training programs, including related psychosocial interventions, and the current state of knowledge around social cognition training in people with ADHD is described. The empirical part of the thesis contains the proposal of a social cognition training program for adults with ADHD symptoms, including the proposal for confirming its effectiveness.
