Engineering optimization of a bolted joint under cyclic load
Pavlíček, Tomáš ; Kubík, Petr (referee) ; Vosynek, Petr (advisor)
This bachelor’s thesis deals with improving the service life of a cyclically stressed screw connection. In order to correctly determine the tension amplitude in the screw, it is necessary to know exactly the stiffness constant of the connection C. In this work, a comparison of analytical approaches for its calculation was made for a connection with a screw-in head screw. Based on a comparison with the numerical solution, it was evaluated as the most accurate approach according to the VDI 2230 standard. Furthermore, the influence of the size of the preload value on the life of the screw was assessed. It was found that the optimal value of the preload corresponds to the state when the clamping of the connected parts is lost. The last part of this work was focused on structural modifications that will improve the service life of the joint. The following design modifications were assessed: flexible screw, large area and spacer washer. The most significant increase in service life was achieved using a spacer washer.
Design of the supporting structure of the dragon statue in Bojnice in Slovakia
Novotný, Radek ; Kubík, Petr (referee) ; Šebek, František (advisor)
The thesis deals with the design of a supporting structure which is a crucial element of a sculpture depicting a threeheaded fairy tale dragon. Like any construction this sculpture and its structure must be designed in such a way as to not cause any harm to health or human lives. The thesis includes the theory of strength of materials, including the theory of the finite element method. The first step is an iterative design of the supporting structure including suitable semifinished products for construction that were actually used. This is followed by a detailed strength analysis of the proposed solution using finite element method in the ANSYS Workbench. The last section describes the manufacturing process of the structure including the description of the sculpture's construction. The result is an evaluation of the proposed structure, its safety and a description of the creation of the artwork which fits perfectly into the local scenery near Bojnice Castle.
Economic and Financial Measurement and Evaluation of the Company Using the Balanced Scorecard Method
Kubík, Petr ; Pavláková Dočekalová, Marie (referee) ; Kocmanová, Alena (advisor)
This Master´s thesis deals with the design and implementation of the Balanced Scorecard concept in the company. The work was divided into four main sections. In the first part, the reader is acquainted with the main goal of the work, then the methods and procedures of work processing are introduced. The next part focuses on the theoretical basis needed to complete the work, which clarifies the concept of business performance, strategic analysis and focuses on financial analysis, but the greatest emphasis is placed on the Balanced Scorecard method. The third part is practically oriented, first the analyzed company, its history and field of business are introduced, followed by SWOT, PESTLE and financial analysis. The last part, the actual solutions are based on the information obtained and represents the implementation of the Balanced Scorecard concept in the company in order to increase its performance.
A verification of an approximation of the continuous double auction by a sequence of call auctions.
Kubík, Petr ; Šmíd, Martin (advisor) ; Branda, Martin (referee)
The thesis deals with two kinds of double auction - with the continuous auction and a sequence of call auctions. We explain their rules and we define their models. We present results of simulations of the both kinds of double auction - the aim is to look for the call auction with such parameters that the prices and the traded volume of the continuous auction are approximated best. Finally, in a theoretical part, we characterize the dis- tribution of the order book in the continuous auction and then we specify the joint distribution of the price and the traded volume in the call auction (the distribution of bid, ask and the traded volume given by the continuous auction may be immediately devised from the distribution of the order book).
Slovak-Italian relationships 1939-1945
Kubík, Petr ; Rychlík, Jan (advisor) ; Němeček, Jan (referee) ; Ďurica, Milan (referee)
Slovak-ltalian relationsbips between 1939 and 1945 Diplomatic relations between the fírst Slovak Republic and the Kingdom oOtaly began developing after Apri1 11, 1939, when tbe ltalian govemment acknowledged the independence of Slovakia. The first Slovak ambassador, 1M. Zvrškovec, served in Rome from the middle of May 1939 and was replaced in summer 1940 by B. Galvánek. The Italian consulate in Bratislava directed by F.Lo Faro was transformed Ínto an embassy in September 1939. Count G.Roncalli, the first ambassador, was succeeded by P. Cortese in March 1942. ln tbe years ]939 to 1943 tbe Slovak-ltalian relationships were very active and rapídly extended in many fields of diplomacy, business, culture, propaganda and sports. These activities are described in detail in several chapters. This period of contacts was very fruitful, but compilation of a cultural agreement was not fina1ized and the planned visits at tbe highest level never took place. Tbe above communication abruptly came to an end after the· ltalian miIitary and politica1 break down in summer of 1943. Slovak Republic tried to keep diplomatic contacts witb tbe ltalian Sodal Republic newly established in northem Italy by Mussoliní under German protectorate, but these relations could not be as íntensive as those in the ear1ier years. They functioned...
Computational analysis of a car axle arm opening
Procházka, Vojtěch ; Kubík, Petr (referee) ; Petruška, Jindřich (advisor)
This thesis is focused on behavior of control arm opening with bushing pressed in. The tested component is a part of control arm of a car. The parts were tested in tensile and compressive strength. Real experiments were measured by optical system Aramis during the testing to determine deformations of the part. These tests are also modeled by a finite element method using an Abaqus software. In GOM Correlate software is created full-field comparison of deformation results from Aramis and FEA. Based on this comparison computational model is calibrated. Sensitivity analysis is performed at the end of the thesis.
Influence of combination of simple beam loading on the safety with respect to the limit state of elasticity
Gális, Róbert ; Halabuk, Dávid (referee) ; Kubík, Petr (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the evaluation of the influence of the combined loading for beams with different types of cross-sections in terms of the limit state of elasticity. The first part of the thesis summarizes the theoretical knowledge about simple and combined loading, the limit state of elasticity and the finite element method. Then, the safety of the limit state of elasticity is evaluated for the beams of different cross-sections by analytical calculations and numerical calculations using the finite element method.

Design and analysis of the road bike made from composite material
Dvořáková, Barbora ; Kubík, Petr (referee) ; Šebek, František (advisor)
This diploma thesis is focused on the design and analysis of road bike frame made of composite material. The thesis is divided into two parts. In the first part, there is a research focused on the usage of composite materials in relation to making bike frames. The main emphasis is placed on fiber composites, which are most common in cycling. Manufacturing process and production technology are discussed. The aim of the second part is design and the numerical simulation of frame in relation to stand-ard, which is used for the testing of frames. Rigidity and strength are evaluated. The final frame is obtained from the initial design due to several iterations. In conclusion, results are evaluated and recommendations for future work are given.
