Systematic approach for medical waste-to-energy processing
Hanus, Jan ; Krejčí, Tomáš (referee) ; Krňávek, Martin (advisor)
This master thesis deals with the current situation of medical waste management in the Czech Republic and available medical waste treatment methods. The first part summarises the legislation of waste treatment and contains an analysis of the current situation of medical waste management in the Czech Republic and comparison to the situation in the European Union. The second part describes medical waste treatment methods and following technologies for energy utilization when thermal treatment method is applied. In the main part of this thesis, a complex medical waste-to-energy system in a model region is designed according to the input data. The design includes description of the collecting and transportation system of the waste, capacity of the unit and suitable thermal treatment and heat utilization technology choice. A calculation model is created for the proposed unit and based on this model, an analysis on energy utilization effectivity is made. As a result of the thesis, environmental, technical and economical assessment is created based on the estimation of the investment and operating costs.
Up-to-date off gas cleaning system for Medical Waste-to-Energy units
Kotas, Dan ; Krňávek, Martin (referee) ; Krejčí, Tomáš (advisor)
This master's thesis deals with current situation of medical waste management in the Czech Republic and it also analyzes the quality of existing units for thermal treatment of the medical waste. In the second part of the thesis, available off-gas cleaning methods were described as well as the emission limits for waste incineration, which correspond to the legislative regulations effective in the Czech Republic. These emission limits are considered as input data for off-gas cleaning system design. In the main part of this thesis, two technological solutions of off-gas cleaning methods for Up-to-Date medical waste incineration unit were designed. The unit is designed for energy utilization of 1400 tons of medical waste accumulated during one year in a regional hospital of model region. From given input parameters, two appropriate apparatus concepts were created. After that, both concepts were evaluated either form energetic point of view as well as from material one. From these evaluations, key apparatuses of both concepts were designed which provided necessary design dimensions for further investment price estimation of each individual key apparatus. In the conclusion of this thesis, the best solution of an off-gas cleaning method was picked according to the comparison of operating and investment costs.
Community area risk assessment for flash flood
Kolejka, Jaromír ; Rapant, P. ; Krejčí, Tomáš
The flash floods forecasting is struggling mainly with extraordinary irregularities in origin of causal precipitations. They only in conjunction with the territory water saturation caused by antecedent precipitations start effect of other local factors that can consequences of short-term extreme precipitation either worsen or mitigate vice versa. Other community area features represent a permanent potential for an adequate territory response after heavy rains. According to current knowledge, it is possible to assess the flash floods hazard of a particular territory in case of extreme precipitation in advance. If such precipitations are already on the ground, or if they are just coming up in the atmosphere, the local flood control headquarters has at least time enough to call alarm and issue a flood warning. In the ideal case, it is possible to incorporate such area assessment into the concept of decision-making of the disaster staff and to insert it into the master plan documentation. The aim of this text is to present above mentioned original method, which can be used in authomatic GIS environment by public administration as well as other users. Suggested procedure is based on automatic hydrologic modelling in ArcGIS platform in combination with advanced digital terrain model. Delimitation of partial catchment basins is also part of our proces, which enables to decide about the risk value of the area in more detail using weighted arithmetic mean. These methods result to detailed imagination about probably threatened localities - and it is essential tool for local authorities and their decision making process in case of early warning.
Lifelong localization of robots
Krejčí, Tomáš ; Barták, Roman (advisor) ; Obdržálek, David (referee)
This work presents a novel technique for lifelong localization of robots. It performs a tight fusion of GPS and Multi-State Constraint Kalman Filter, a visual-inertial odometry method for robot localization. It is shown in exper- iments that the proposed algorithm achieves better position accuracy than either GPS and Multi-State Constraint Kalman Filter alone. Additionally, the experiments demonstrate that the algorithm is able to reliably operate when the GPS signal is highly corrupted by noise or even in presence of substantial GPS outages. 1

Krejčí, Tomáš ; Řehák, Svatopluk (advisor) ; Krahulík, David (referee) ; Brichtová, Eva (referee)
Early diagnosis of the failure of endoscopic third ventricolostomy Aim of the study: The aim of the study is to determine the risk of ETV failure based on the presence or absence of radiological indications of third chamber deformation (bowing of the third chamber) on preoperative MR brain scans in patients with obstructive hydrocephalus. Additionally evaluating extend of the bowing, patients age, regression of bowing following successful ETV, etiology, degree of prematurity of newborns, persistence and character of clinical symptoms and other factors. Type of the study: Prospective clinical study. The data set and methodology: Data set comprised 157 patients with obstructive hydrocephalus operated on Neurosurgical clinic of University Hospital Ostrava between January 2008 and December 2016. The follow up duration was at least 3 months. From this cohort we were able to determine effect of bowing on ETV outcome in 135 patients. Of these patients, 70 were adults, 27 were children between 7 months and 16 years of age and 38 were infants under 6 months. From 38 infants under 6 months were 22 severe premature newborns, 9 moderately premature newborns and 7 mildly premature newborns. The extend of the bowing was determine in the range 3 - 14 mm. Results: ETV was noted as successful in 84 cases (62%). Statistical...
Reduction of nitrogen oxides in flue gas on special catalysts
Vávra, Jan ; Krejčí, Tomáš (referee) ; Jecha, David (advisor)
The diploma thesis is focused on experimental reduction of nitrogen oxides on special catalysts. The latest and state-of-the-art flue gas cleaning technologies are used. Selective catalytic reduction results in the desired level of pollution. It is necessary to meet the prescribed emission limit. A ceramic honeycomb filter based on vanadium and titanium is used as the catalyst. The entire measurement is carried out on the experimental INTEQ II unit, which is installed in the flue gas cleaning laboratory at NETME Center. It is shown which operating parameters achieve better efficiency of flue gas cleaning. Comparison of the BASF and CERAM catalysts is also performed. Finally, a material balance of the system is performed and a new external electric heater is designed to accelerate the heating process.

John Henry Newman - life and work in the context of the struggle for the universality of the Church ThDr. JUDr. Květoslav Tomáš Krejčí, M.Phil. (Oxon), Ph.D. In the absence of any Czech language monograph since 1939 (or 1947), the thesis presents a summary of the life and work of John Henry Newman (1801-1890). It also contains an original Czech translation of selected writings. Due to its character of a thesis in history of theology, the work also introduces Newman as a writer. A particular attention is given to the reception of Newman's thought in France and Germany, his relationship with Catholic modernism and liberal theology as well as to Newman's impact on the documents of Vatican II.
Dynamization of spatial data using location-based services: Tourist potential of industrial heritage
Malý, Jiří ; Krejčí, Tomáš ; Trojan, Jakub ; Chudáček, Stanislav ; Nováková, Eva
The paper deals with industrial heritage and its potential in tourism. Although the post-industrial landscape is an integral part of all the countries that went through a period of de-industrialization and economic transformation, presentation and publicity of valuable industrial monuments that are linked with post-industrial landscape in many cases are not fully utilized. This paper aims to acquaint readers with a possibility of transformation of data on industrial objects into augmented reality, while using location-based services. The final result is the web-based platform allowing easy data transformation. The paper has thus largely methodological-application character. The outcomes of the testing phase indicate that information about the objects do have their limits, but respecting them brings their effective performance in augmented reality.
