I also asked about their attitude to saving life. In the theoretical part, I focused on the history of first aid, defined terms and also described cardiopulmonary resuscitation procedures according to 2005 Guidelines. The practical part brings data obtained from questionnaire survey about willingness and ability of participants to provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation. I found that despite the majority of responders would want to help, much less can do so, probably because of insufficient teaching and practicing of first aid skills.

I would like to find the problems in this matter and suggest possible solutions. For finding the level of knowledge I decided to use a questionnaire. I formed the questions using the specialized literature providing non-professional first aid by the public. The results showed that both enquired groups need to boost their theoretical knowledge and that they need to get more information. Also the right motivation should be used to encourage a moral duty for helping others. Translate : Petra Hokešová
