Analysis of intranet in the company and conditions for successful migration

The thesis focuses on enterprise content management via intranet. The work introduces one company and describes its intranet from the information perspective. A satisfaction survey with intranet among a selected group of employees was developed, executed and evaluated. The following chapter deals with description of Microsoft SharePoint 2013, a technology that was chosen to migrate to in the company described in this work. Its positives as compared to current solution are presented. Finally, the thesis discusses topics to concentrate on in case the enterprise seeks successful migration to a new solution. They are introduced from the internal perspective of a company that might undertake individual steps independently, without and third party support. The thesis includes attachments with illustrations relevant to the selected technology, i.e. SharePoint 2013, and example of the survey form distributed among employees.
Analysis of threats and risks related with document management in the telecommunications company

Diploma thesis is dedicated to the analysis of threats and risks related with document management in a real enterprise -- big telco company. For document management company utilizes a complex solution called application DMS which is implemented on IBM FileNet P8 platform. In my work I will concentrate on risks linked with operation of DMS application. Along with the description of DMS application and document management I will mention problems perceived from the external supplier's point of view. These problems will be the basis for identification of the risks for the company emerging from the operation of DMS application. Subsequently I will evaluate risks and propose solutions to handle or avoid these risks. I will put proposed solutions into the sequence, in which they should be implemented while considering nature of the risk and financial demands of the proposed solution. Contributions of my work are list of identified risks and list of solutions which both can be used for assigning priorities of the change requests carried out in 2013 and possibly during discussions about budget increase for the DMS application operation.
Motivation of small and medium businesses for cloud solutions adoption

Focus of this diploma thesis is on cloud computing topic. Cloud computing is current trend that changes the method of IT services providing. The concept of cloud computing model is based on a provision of IT resources through services. This model offers companies many advantages. The aim of this diploma thesis is to provide an overview of the motivational forces, barriers and their solution in the transition of small and medium businesses to products in the cloud. The theoretical part deals with economic and technological aspects arising from the use of cloud computing model. The next stage is provided with an overview of adoption of cloud computing services in the Czech Republic and current trends. The practical part is focused on the research of motivation aspects and barriers resulting from adoption services built on the cloud computing concept. The main contribution of this thesis is primarily in providing an overview of motivational aspects and research-based barriers in the environment of Czech companies. This overview could help to these company representatives, who are considering deployment of cloud based services, but are struggling with the barriers that this model brings.
Document management in market research company

This thesis deals with document management in market research agency. The aim of the thesis is to propose solution for document management based on considering the current situation of IS/ICT in such agency and analyzed requests. The thesis consists of three parts. The first part describes agency, current situation of IS/ICT and original requests and constraints taken into consideration for new solution proposal. The second part covers description of final solution and its components. The third part follows implementation of complete solution into production environment and data migration plan.
The implementation of Microsoft SharePoint in an advertising company

This work deals with the implementation of Microsoft SharePoint in an advertising company CreativeDreams Ltd. especially for the purpose of projects and contacts documentation. An important part of this work is an analysis of the current state of company in order to design a solution tailored to the needs of the company. Besides documentation of projects and contracts, the application servers also as a support for internal administrative processes and simplifies or automatizes certain activities associated with the workload. It enables planning of activities throughtout duration of the project. Finally, the application facilitates the cooperation of all employees and simplifies access to information. The conclusion summarizes advantages and disadvantages of changes associated with the implementation of the application.
Portal based management of documents and their workflow

The thesis deals with the management of documents and their workflow. The aims of the thesis is to analyze the current situation of enterprise content management at a private university and to plan a portal solution for managing documents and their workflow based on the analysis and to implement its pilot version. The work is divided into three parts. The first part describes the university environment and provides an incentive for project preparation. The second part describes the information system architecture and the current state of the enterprise content management at the university. The third, final section describes the architecture and implementation of the portal solution.
Deploying Microsoft SharePoint in the enterprise

This bachelor paper is aimed at administration of business contents by the help of the technology created by Microsoft Company. Using the technology MS SharePoint in new version 2010 is solved in the paper. It is not related to the version SharePoint Server 2010, but its free available analogy SharePoint Foundation 2010 which is provided free of charge. The selected company, its branch of business, staff hierarchy and its departments are introduced in the paper. It also makes readers familiar with software and hardware currently used in the company. The architecture of the technology SharePoint is described in the work as well as its main areas, building components, possibilities of authorization and web parts. Some applications supporting better administration and configuration of the whole technology are also presented. This is followed by hardware and software requirements and important aspects concerning the technology. The next part of the paper describes what the version SharePoint offers in comparison with previous version. A concept of particular web parts is created. The conclusion is dedicated to estimations of benefits for selected company when using this technology. Solution for administration of business contents by the help of the technology SharePoint Foundation 2010 is suggested. There are also few supplements as a part of the work, where pictures related to the topic are shown.
Change management for e-commerce IS

This thesis is an useful resource for small-sized and medium-sized companies struggling with the problem of out-dated information systems. Every rapidly-growing company will, sooner or later, reach a point where its information system no longer suits its requirements. In the thesis I analyze the case of a small outfit trying to expand to foreign markets, showing the uneven development of the individual parts of its information system. In this particular case, rapid partial changes in the functionality of the system were always preferred over a more systematic and thorough development. Eventually, the company found itself in a situation where it was no longer possible to further develop its system, and did not know what to do next. In accordance with the primary goal of improving the effectiveness of distribution processes, the thesis describes the project of unification of two different e-commerce solutions and their integration into other applications. In the second part, the thesis discusses the problem of choosing a suitable application that would bring all optimized distribution processes under one umbrella, describing various ways how to approach the problem.
Analysis of financial module of ERP software in use

The aim of this thesis is to analyze financial module of ERP software Microsoft Dynamics AX 4.0 in use. With working experience and question survey among the users it's exploring functionality of the program in an existing company and analyzes functionality of it's financial module. After first introductory chapter follows chapter which describes ERP softwares in general, their history and development. The third chapter describes software implementation, application architecture of the company and implemented Axapta modules. The fourth chapter begins to examine the usage of Axapta financial module with question survey among it's users in the company. Then the fifth chapter discusses the existing problems and limitations. The sixth chapter is looking for solutions of problems from fifth chapter and for possible improvements of the Axapta financial module. Conclusion is summarizing all the thesis and evaluating the usage and functionality of Axapta financial module in the company.
Records Management in SAP

The purpose of this thesis is to verify the SAP RM configuration's possibility to fulfill the requirements of MoReq2 standards. The theoretical part revealed the characteristics of Records Management, MoReq2 standard and SAP Records Management software. Records Management is introduced in the connection with Enterprise Content Management and Document Management. There are other standards mentioned, but Moreq2 due to its importance for the practical part of the thesis is being described closely. SAP Records Management component is explored from its conceptual and technological aspects. The practical part is composed of analysis of MoReq2 requirements in SAP RM environment and of the description of the system configuration, which enables MoReq2 requirements' fulfillment. The configuration is described in details only if SAP RM fulfills MoReq2 requirements.
