Švejda, Roman ; Horčic, Josef (advisor) ; Kovářová, Lenka (referee)
Title: Evaluation of force presumptions for swimming triathletes from Czech team in training cycle 2010-2011 Intention of work: Evaluation of specific force presumptions for swimming and ability maximal utilit force efficiency in long time stress, wide spektrum of triatlonist from beginners to elite czech competitors. For evaluation we used 3 indikators: 1. average Power Output - PO - [W] 2. average power output on kg body weight - PO.kg-1 - [W.kg-1 ] 3. complete work - W - [Nm] Method: Testing on swim trainer Biokinetic by tests which simulated free style strokes and butterfly strokes. 10 strokes by free style and butterfly styl, 50 and 100 strokes by butterfly style. Results: Some people lives in mistake about their directionality. Someone think, that he is better for long distance, and oposit eis true. Lot of people, in our test, made more work [Nm] in free style strokes, than butterfly strokes. More offen people made more work [Nm] in butterfly strokes. Our people swim butterfly just especialy and that's the reason, why they have more force in crowl. Keywords: Biokinetic, triathlon, swimming, testing, swim force.

Title: Evaluation of efficiency at the level of anaerobic threshold in swimming and runnin of young thriathlonists in phase 2000 - 2009 Aim: To evaluate changes in individual efficiency at the level of anaerobic threshold in swimming and running of junior triathlonists in phase 2001 - 2009 and to compare the average efficiency at the level of anaerobic threshold in running and swimming of junior triathlonists 1994 - 2000 and 2001 - 2009. Methods: Lactate anaerobic threshold has been set for swimming and running in cross- country conditions by the help of evaluation of the lactate curve. Cross-coutry tests 5 x 2km run and 4 x 300m swimming have been used for finding of anaerobic threshold. The results of anaerobic threshold measurement in swimming are processed by Laboratory of sport FTVS at the Charles University in personal computer software Laktat - Test Ver. 6.0 + by ETB - SOFT use. Its author is Mr. Ernst Böck from Austria. The parameters at the level of anaerobic threshold have been statistically processed. Results: Results of the thesis should contribute to the extension of the knowledge about the effeciency changes at the level of anaerobic threshold of thriatlonists in running and swimming. All this during specialized sport preparation. Recognized results and findings will be useful especially for...

Svatoš, Václav ; Kovářová, Lenka (advisor) ; Horčic, Josef (referee)
Tittle: Biomechanics of pedaling as a determinant for the performance in the cycling part in the triathlon Objective: Prove that mastering pedaling technique, means higher performance in triathlon. Method: For the analysis of measured data use software SPSS, in which we use the test for two independent (paired) files. Due to the characteristics of the file, we used the Mann- Whitney test, we set the significance level at 0.05. Then we set standards for the selected test using T-points. Results: On the basis of the hypotheses, we conclude that there satisticky significant difference between groups (selection, other) the test results in the men's category (sig. 0.019). The opposite results were observed in the women's category (sig. 0.683). Performance comparison groups of men and women were different and statistically highly significant (sig. 0.000). Another result of this work is to establish standards by T - points for members of the youth sports center (YSC) in the triathlon for the assessment test at maximum cadence bicycle ergometer test in Cyclus 2. Keywords: pedaling cadence, YSC, diagnostics, maximum pedaling cadence test, Mann- Whitney test

The historical evolution of the modern pentathlon at the Olympic Games (1912 - 2012)
Svoboda, David ; Kovářová, Lenka (advisor) ; Horčic, Josef (referee)
Title: The historical evolution of the modern pentathlon at the Olympic Games (1912 - 2012) Objectives: The main aim of this work is to map the development of the modern pentathlon at the Olympic Games and determine and explain the latest trends in the sport in the past and try to guess which direction is likely to take over the next few years. Another aim will be to capture the dynamic developmental period and key moments in the history of the pentathlon. Methods: Thesis has descriptive-analytical character. To meet the goal, we used a qualitative method - collecting documents. We used mostly public documents available at the Olympic study and information center, as well as materials available on the official website of the Olympic Games. Results: We have created a detailed analysis of the complex development of the modern pentathlon, also for the first time in the Czech language. Furthermore, on the basis of acquired and processed data highlighted the crucial period that fundamentally influenced the shape and course pentathlon competitions and estimated direction of development of this sector in the future. Environment for Master Orienteering Ranking Analysis
Kovářová, Lenka ; Forst, Libor (advisor) ; Schlesinger, Pavel (referee)
I accomplished analyse of potential formula schemes for veteran competitors ranking evaluation and I suggested their parameterisation. Next, I created an environment for the evaluation of veteran ranking that enables the competitors ranking calculation in accordance with the variables formulae that supports the proposed parameterisation and I, therefore, collected the results of orienteering races that were held in the last 4 years to get some data for the ranking evaluation. To display the calculated ranking I constructed a website. I computed the ranking of veteran orienteering competitors by use of selected formulae and then I suggested a modification of the Spearman correlation coefficient to prove the accuracy of each formula.
God Týr in the Germanic Religion
Kovářová, Lenka ; Hruška, Blahoslav (advisor) ; Jiroušková, Jana (referee)
The work concerns god Tyr, Germanic myth and the religion. It is based on original sources, which is presented mainly Poetic Edda, Snorra Edda and writings of Tacitus. The other possible names of Tyr are discussed here. It is Irmin, Saxnôt and Mars, as he was called by Romans. Then the work concerns the functions of the god Tyr. His possible functions of god of war, the assembly called thing, right and sky are discussed here. Last part of the work speaks about Tyr position in the pantheon. The theories of Georges Dumézil and Lotte Motz are discussed here.
Comparison of heart rate and external performance at selected field tests for determining maximum heart rate for bicyclists and triathletes when cycling.
Podrazil, Tomáš ; Horčic, Josef (advisor) ; Kovářová, Lenka (referee)
Title: Comparison of the heart rate values and external performance is based on selected field tests determining maximal heart rate in cycling of cyclist and triathletes Objectives: Objective of thesis is to determine the values of maximal heart rate and external performance from selected field tests in cycling and compare them with one another. Methods: Three cyclist were measured in field tests and acquired results were used to create the graphs and tables. Data were obtained by cycling performance meter Powertap and cycle computer Garmin Edge 500. For the analysis of the measured data was used software TrainigsPeaks.com Results: Based on the results of thesis it can be stated, that the measurement turn out as we expected. The difference of maximal heart rate between test-A and test-B is differed by 3-5 beats, which is not decisive. Both tests can be used for determine maximal heart rate. These tests are suitable for measuring the performance of athletes. Maximal heart rate is not in present an important indicator for training of fitness of individual. For training I would suggest to take a test of lactate curve in the laboratory. Keywords: cycling, external performance, heart rate, terrain test, Powertap
Comparison of selected anthropometric parameters of competitive quadrathletes and racing kayakers.
Gerčáková, Daniela ; Bílý, Milan (advisor) ; Kovářová, Lenka (referee)
Title: Comparison of selected anthropometric parameters of competitive quadrathletes and racing kayakers. Objectives: The aim of this work is to assess the somatotype and anthropometric characteristics in elite athletes in marathon kayakers and quadrathletes. Methods: This research included the analysis and comparison of two groups of athletes. Using the Heath-Carter system of measurement, somatotypes were calculated using the computer formula, 'Somatotype - Calculation and Analysis'. Body composition was determined through the use of skinfold calipers SK in conjunction with noninvasive bioelectrical impedance analysis (BIA). Specifically, the Tanita 980 MS and BIA 2000 measurement units. Results: Two research samples were developed (speed kayakers as one, quadrathletes as the other), whose results (set average) were compared. On the basis of anthropometric data and calculations, it was found that both research samples corresponded in their somatotype category, ectomorphic mesomorph. According to this research, the speed kayakers (with a focus on marathon distances), are generally taller and heavier than the quadrathlete sample, yet had relatively less body fat. Keywords: Somatotype, body composition, BIA, skinfold, quadrathlon, flatwater kayaking
