Possibilities and Limits of Care in Childern's Homes and a Model of a Possible Alternative

This thesis concerns the problems connected with the legal protection of children in the Czech Republic. In particular it focuses on possibilities of taking care of children who are forced to live out of the family. All contemporary possibilities how to care about such children as well as legislative of these amenities are surveyed and financial system of these is introduced. Based on background professional research, the most common reasons for placing children out of their own families are presented. Work and function of homes for children are described in further details. The theoretical part offers the view into historical development of taking care of Czech children without any stable and functioning family background, some good experience examples from France and samples of endeavour to remedy the situation in Slovakia are mentioned. The inner part of the thesis is the issue concerning not only wide variety of psychological theories but also the satisfaction of children development needs. Research part traces fulfilling children development needs in a particular children home taking into consideration the point of view of the staff, the parents whose children were placed there and the youngsters who were cared about. The effect of smoking and alcohol consumption on tooth decay and periodontitis in adults and the relationship between alcohol intake and visceral fat in the older adults

Title: The effect of cigarette smoking and alcohol consumption on dental caries and periodontitis in adults and the relationship between alcohol intake and visceral fat in the elderly. Objectives: The aim of my master thesis was to assess the influence of alcoholic beverages and cigarette smoking on the risk of dental caries and periodontitis in adults. Another aim was to assess the relationship between alcohol intake and visceral fat in the elderly. Methods: The thesis is carried out as two independent cross-sectional studies. In the first study, gender differences were tested using the non-parametric Kolmogorov- Smirnov test. Pearson's correlation coefficient was used to assess the relationship between the amount of alcohol consumed in kg and cigarettes smoked in pcs and the risk of dental caries or periodontitis. In the second study, body composition analysis was performed using the electrical bioimpedance method. Two-sample Kolmogorov-Smirnov test was used to test the hypotheses. Utilization of nutritional supplements at elite athletes

Title: Utilization of nutritional supplements at elite athletes Objectives: The aim of the bachelor's thesis was to determine the character and current trends in the use of nutritional supplements by the top athletes in various sports. The partial goal was to compare the results of the use of nutritional supplements and to develop feedback for individual companies selling sports supplements. Methods: A questionnaire survey was used to collect data, containing open and closed questions regarding the use of nutritional supplements. It also contained questions in what form athletes use supplements, the main reasons for use, at what frequency and what are the preferred brands of supplements. The survey was sent in electronic form to 33 respondents who practice top-level sports in the Czech Republic. Results: It was found that all the surveyed individuals take nutritional supplements. By the endurance athletes, the claim that they prefer supplements with an excitatory effect in combination with supplements leading to weight reduction has been confirmed. It was also proven that more than 50 % of respondents prefer a particular brand of nutritional supplements and do not plan to change it, and more than 50 % of athletes surveyed use supplementation daily. The use of food supplements by amateur athletes in the fitness

Title: The use of food supplements by amateur athletes in the fitness Objectives: The objective of this work is to find out the use of specific food supplements by amateur athletes in the fitness. Methods: Data were obtained through quantitative research, which was conducted through electronic questioning on the platform Survio.com. Subsequently, a statistical evaluation of collected information was performed. Results: The evaluation of the data obtained from the questionnaire survey showed, that 86 % (111) of respondents use food supplements, for up to 4 of them without any side effects. The use of food supplements is bigger by men than by women. Regeneration support, improving sports performance and building muscle mass are the most common motives for using food supplements. On the other hand, respondents who do not use food supplemets claim, that they do not need them. For respondents, the best sources for obtaining information are the professional literature and the internet. The internet is also the best source for acquisition of food supplements. The most commonly used food supplements are protein products, vitamins and minerals, primarily from the Extrifit brand. Key words: Nutritional supplementation, sport, fitness

Dynamics of Everyday Life in Dialogue with Emmanuel Lévinas

The main objective of this research is to look at the topic of everyday life from a dynamic perspective. The definition of everyday life that this thesis stands upon, i.e. the presence of a subject in the world with the other(s) outlines also two main sources of its dynamics: the world and the other. The essential aim of this thesis is to show that the different attitudes towards the world and the other in the works of Husserl and Lévinas consequently influence the understanding of the everyday life as such, as well as the requirements it imposes upon the subject. The chapter dedicated to Husserl presents his concept of the world as a horizon, the irreplaceable position of perception in our access to the world and the creation of the other within the subject itself. On the contrary, Lévinas stresses the separation of the subject and he understands the world and the other as inherently belonging to this never-ending process. The motive of dependence and responsibility of the subject for the other belongs to the most significant differences between the two philosophers. Whereas Husserl proposes us a subject in the world which he accesses via perception and in which he encounters the other, Lévinas shows us subject that is born to the pre-reflexive and intersubjective world from which he first has to...

Short-term cryotherapy effects to ankle proprioception

The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of short-time cold pack cryotherapy in thermoreceptors, therefore, proprioception via deep sensation receptors and sense of balance on ankle joint in healthy adults. In the subject, I refer to other studies using the word proprioception when measuring the cold effect in the balance of the ankle joint. Mainly, cold therapy is affecting to the thermoreceptors but there might be input also to change neuromuscular transmission. The aim of the experimental process is to identify if the cold application on the ankle joint for 20 minutes is decreasing dynamic postural stability and the sense of balance in laboratory environment. Short term cryotherapy effect is measured within 12 participants divided into two groups: control and study group. Both groups went through the first measurement, 20 minutes rest with or without cold application and second measurement directly after the rest period. The dynamic posturography machine SMART Balance Master System (NeuroCom) was used to evaluate somatosensory outcome in the experiment. Self-medication with alcohol among menopausal and postmenopauzal women

The bachelor thesis deals with the self-medication theory among menopausal and postmenopausal women. It is divided into a theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part presents self-medication theory and important studies exploring self-medication of mood and anxiety disorders, health effects of alcohol consumption on women, psychosocial aspects of menopause and higher prevalence of mood and anxiety disordes among menopausal and postmenopausal women. The practical part presents qualitative research with case studies exploring alcohol addiction in three perimenopausal women. Case studies are also focused on their psychological condition, drinking motives and perimenopausal symptoms. Questionnaire battery and semi-structured interview were used for data collection. The aim was to describe self-medication phenomenon among menopausal and postmenopausal women and start the debate for another research. More importantly it summarizes the results of significant studies fo- cused on risky behaviour during alcohol intoxication. Fundraising of non-profit organisation NIDAR

This thesis deals with fundraising of non-profit organisations. The scope of the thesis is to provide the reader with basic information about fundraising, and to apply this information in order to evaluate the fundraising of a selected non-profit organisation. First of all, this work defines the non-profit sector and its long-term sustainability, then the work deals with the fundraising itself. Issues connected with credibility of the organisation and its webpages are included in the part concerning fundraising.These factors establish a competitive advantage in activities that are focused on fundraising. These theoretical foundations are applied on a chosen non-profit organisation, and additionaly, the webpages of the organisation are also analysed, and an ASNO14 non-profit organisation reliability analysis is carried out. The data used in the practical part was collected through an analysis of annual reports of the organisation, webpage analysis and through a personal interview. The ending of this thesis includes an overall evaluation and improvement proposals.
