The satisfaction evaluation of the drop-in centres clients within the area of Zlín region of pandemic COVID-19

ITRODUCTION: Worldwide pandemic COVID-19 and enforcement of restriction measurements necessary to limit the virus spreading in area of public health has affected entire aspects of modern life and impacted inter alia also the area of using drugs, the drug trade including social and medical reactions to the drug phenomenon. As a result of taking the measurements the pressure on addictology services, their operations, the employees and last but not least the clients was getting stronger and stronger. AIM: The purpose of the work was to determine the scale of satisfaction/ dissatisfaction of the clients within the area of Zlín region contact centers with the interventions and services offered during the period of time in context of pandemic COVID-19 and maintaining anti-pandemic measures in order to minimize the impact of pandemic upon the clients and the contact centers' employees and to check this way the ability of the Drop-in centers to react and adjust flexibly to the current situation. METHODS: The respondents were chosen by intentional selection via the institutions. The mean of feedback represented the satisfaction evaluation. Medical cannabis in the Czech Republic from the point of view of doctors- qualitative study

Background: Since 2010, medical professionals have been working to make cannabis available for medical use. In 2013 enter into force a public notice, which provides conditions for the handling of cannabis for medical use. In 2019 came into force a law, which regulates conditions for prescribing and reimbursing cannabis for medical use. In 2022 came into force an amendment of this law with minor changes. Aims: The aim of the bachelor is to map the situation regarding the prescribing of cannabis for medical use in the Czech Republic. The aim is also to describe the history of cannabis as a medicine, the therapeutic effects of substances contained in cannabis, the methods of applying cannabis and the legislation and competence of doctors regarding prescribing too. The aim is to find out whether the effects that are described in the literature are the same in practice. Methods: A qualitative study using a semi-structured interview was used for data collection. The respondents in the research became doctors who are authorized to prescribe medical cannabis and also actively prescribe it. Patterns of chewing tobacco and nicotine pouches usage among athletes: an online survey

BACKGROUND: Nicotine is one of the most commonly used addictive substances amongst the general population. Nonetheless, there is not much information on the use of chewing tobacco or nicotine pouches, even more so when it comes to studies concerning athletes. AIMS: The goal of this work was to map out the patterns of using chewing tobacco and nicotine pouches amongst athletes, specifically American football players and ice hockey players. METHODS: Quantitative questionnaire research was carried out with the help of the online tool Survio. The questionnaire was distributed through members of selected sports teams, American football and ice hockey, coaches, or team emails. RESULTS: 219 respondents took part in the study, of them, 114 were American football players and 105 were ice hockey players. Out of the 219 respondents, 65 of the 114 American football players (57%) and 53 of the ice hockey players (53%) have used chewing tobacco. While 49 American football players and 43 ice hockey players have used nicotine pouches. On average, respondents encountered chewing tobacco at the age of 19, and nicotine bags at the age of 21. Monitoring the effect of the primarily preventive program Unplugged in children whose mothers drink alcohol at a frequency higher than once a week.

BACKGROUND - Foreign studies submit parental, maternal substance abuse increase children's risk behavior such alcohol drinking. Czech studies submit school-based prevention program Unplugged has significant positive influence on marihuana children's smoking. AIMS - The research is needed to reveal the influence of school-based prevention program Unplugged on children's alcohol drinking. Children's difference is in mothers. Mothers who drink alcohol more than once a week and mothers who drink alcohol less once a week. METHODS - Research data were obtained by using czech version of European Family Empowerment Questionnaire in seven data mining waves between 2013 and 2017. Children's and parental questionnairies were paired. The final count of questionnairies is 8338 and we analyzed them with GEE (generalized estimation equation) in SPSS. RESULTS - School-based prevention program Unplugged has not significant influence on children 's drinking with mothers who drink alcohol more than once a week. The program increase likelihood of children's drunkeness in last 30 days in children with mothers who drink less than once a week. The odd of drunkeness is 52,2 %.
