Semantic preference and prosody of adjective eri and its derivatives in Finnish

This master's thesis deals with the semantic preference and prosody of the eri adjective and its derivatives in Finnish. The thesis focuses on a group of adjectives with the same root and almost synonymous or very close meanings. The first part of this thesis is dedicated to the theory of semantics and meaning, syntagmatic and paradigmatic relations (especially synonymy and collocations), to the definition of the class of adjectives and the definition of semantic preference and prosody. The second part focuses on the collocational analysis and the analysis of the semantic preference and prosody of adjectives erikoinen and erityinen which are nearly synonymous. The last part of this thesis provides the semantic profiles of these two adjectives which are based on the results of the collocational analysis. Diagnostics of children in pre-school age with different mother language

Thesis entitled Diagnosis of children with different mother tongue in preschool age deals with the issue of diagnosis of children with different mother tongue in preschool age, specifically deals with approaches, methods and possibilities of diagnosing children with different mother tongue in preschool age. Thesis focuses on the diagnosis of the development of a child of preschool age, outlines the diagnosis of a child in kindergarten, and especially describes and charts the methods and procedures for diagnosing these children in pedagogical-psychological counseling. The aim of this thesis is to clarify these issues, describe the legislative basis for the education and support of children with different mother tongue in preschool age and the specifics of these children. The aim of the empirical part is to chart the process of diagnosing children with different mother tongue in preschool age by workers of pedagogical-psychological counseling in the capital city of Prague using semi- structured interviews. The Use of Local Postpositions in Contemporary Finnish

This bachelor thesis deals with the use of local postpositions in contemporary Finnish. Postpositions are words without inflection or only partly inflected words which lay in-between several parts of speech. They are divided into groups according to their semantic meaning. The biggest group is local postpositions which are also subject of this thesis. The first part examines the definition of postpositions, their origin, and function with emphasis on local postpositions. The second part of this thesis focuses on the occurrence of selected local postpositions with all six local cases in the InterCorp corpus.
