Analysis of Employee Motivation System in Selected Non-profit Organization

The subject of the thesis is to analyse and evaluate the current motivation system of internal and external employees in the non-profit organization Rosice Leisure Center and then suggest measures to improve it. The thesis consists of theoretical, analytical and proposal part. The theoretical part deals with the definition of concepts of non-profit organizations, motivation and their selected forms. The second part includes an analysis of the current situation and evaluation of research focused on the opinion of selected employees. Based on the results, the proposal part includes measures to improve the motivation system.

The Bay of Pigs and its influence on U.S.-Cuba relations

This bachelor thesis focuses on the Bay of Pigs invasion which had been an important part of the U.S.-Cuba relations in the 1960s. The period between the Cuban revolution and the Cuban missile crisis was marked by rapid deterioration of those relations. The thesis is set exactly in this time frame. The invasion was the outcome of the previous deterioration and Castro's victory became the reason for further escalation of the hostilities between the United States and Cuba. This thesis answers the question what decision-making process led to the actual execution of the invasion, what mistakes caused the invasion to fail, who is to blame for this outcome and what consequences did the American failure have on further evolution of the U.S.-Cuba relations. It analyses steps of the planning process and the influence of all the interested parties on this process. It reaches conclusion that the aggressive approach was implemented because of cold war circumstances and the communist threat, the American fear of losing their influence in the western hemisphere and personal ambitions of involved participants. The responsibility for the failure cannot be assigned to just Kennedy's decision making, the CIA's planning or poorly organized Cuban opposition because the fiasco resulted from all these things together....

Russian international arms trade: Opportunism or strategy?

This master's thesis focuses on Russian international trade of conventional weapons. Arms trade had played an important role during the Cold War as a tool to gain influence. Currently, Russia is using it to regain the influence it had lost after the dissolution of the Soviet Union in various regions around the world. At the same time, Russia is the second largest arms exporter after the United States. The thesis briefly addresses past Russian arms trade, but the main focus is on the decade between 2010 and 2020. It answers the question whether Russia currently uses its arms trade opportunistically to only maximalise its economic profit or whether it serves as a part of a larger strategy to balance the influence of the United States. The work focuses on Asia, the MENA region, and Latin America. It analyses circumstances surrounding arms deliveries from Russia into the countries in these regions. The thesis consists of several case studies, which illustrate the evolution of Russian approach towards arms trade. It reaches the conclusion that, for Russia, international arms trade is an important tool to help reach its foreign policy goals. Literature search here to get familiar with the basic concepts, laws, regulations and valuation methods used in this work. Praktická část obsahuje analýzu výsledků výzkumného šetření, které bylo zaměřené na zjištění spokojenosti spotřebitelů s potahovými textiliemi ve vozidlech Škoda, jejich názorů a zkušeností.
