Employment access of people with hearing disorder in the Pilsen region

My thesis deals with the employment opportunities of people with hearing impairment in the Plzen region job market. The theory part defines the term hearing impairment, also the communication forms of people with hearing impairment, as well as their professional employment and related restrictions issue. The practical part of my thesis is focused on the employment of people with hearing impairment in the Plzen region job market. The research objective focuses on finding out the situation on the labor market for people with hearing impairment, their applicability on the labor market, problems arising from their impairment and possible solutions that would lead to an improvement of the situation. For research survey was chosen mixed research design, the questionnaire survey method was used supplemented by a controlled interview with selected informants. The results of the survey pointed to the problems faced by the hearing impaired disability when looking for a job, as well as possible solutions and recommendations for practice. Shared care for children and pupils with autism spectrum disorders

Families that take care of children with autistic spectrum disorder contend with everyday mental strain while looking after their child. Situation is even more complicated for lack of social services suitable for autistic spectrum disorder. It forces families to rely on themselves. In response to lack of services in the Czech Republic a new shared care service called homesharing was established by initiative "Naděje pro děti úplňku". Homesharing is a voluntary service and works as follows. An instructed host family looks after a child with autistic spectrum disorder at their place at regular intervals. The service enables an essential time to a rest to primary family. The objective of my diploma thesis called Shared care for children and pupils with autism spectrum disorders is to investigate the experience of host and primary families within the homesharing service. Theoretical part of my diploma thesis describes issues (social services, shared care) linked to autistic spectrum disorders on the basis of reference books. Comparison of opportunities of university studies of sign language in the Czech Republic, Australia and New Zealand

The bachelor thesis deals with the comparison of the opportunities of university studies of sign language in the Czech Republic, Australia and New Zealand. The initial information is compared at the theoretical level. The empirical part is not included. The thesis compares studies at all universities that provide study fields focused on Czech, Australian and New Zealand sign language. These are pedagogical, linguistic, interpreting and translation fields. The aim is to provide information on the content, distribution and process of education at individual universities, based on the description of fields of study and courses that schools publish on their websites and in study information systems. The described fields are selected according to predetermined criteria. The comparison also includes support services for students and their availability at the described universities. In the introductory chapters, the thesis deals with the history and specifics of sign languages and the development of the education of the deaf. Role of teaching assistant in education of a pupils with hearing impairment

The bachelor's thesis deals with the job description of a teaching assistant in the education of pupils with hearing impairment at a regular primary school. The work also focuses on how the assistants are familiar with the surdopedic care issues. Furthermore, it was necessary to find out if there were any problematic aspects of the teaching assistant's work with a hearing impaired pupil. The research investigation of the bachelor thesis was carried out in a qualitative form. A semi-structured interview was used as a method of data collection. These interviews were conducted with four informants, i.e. four teaching assistants who provide support to pupils with hearing impairments at a regular primary school. The interviews were recorded and transcribed into a verbatim transcript, which was openly coded for research purposes. The research investigation of the work was to point out the practical aspects of the work of a teaching assistant for these pupils and the possible issues of this activity. The survey results showed that the problematic area could include online learning and the subsequent wearing of protective equipment during renewed full-time teaching. Impact of the Covid-19 pandemic in counseling services for the hearing impaired

This diploma thesis maps the issue of counseling services for the hearing impaired during the covid-19 pandemic. It uses a dual view of this situation, both from the point of view of people with hearing impairments and from the point of view of the staff of these counseling facilities, thus achieving a comprehensive view of the issue. To achieve the set research goals, a qualitative method of research survey using the technique of semi-structured interviews was chosen. The research survey was attended by 6 informants with hearing impairments and 3 employees from various counseling facilities, who had to deal with this extraordinary situation. In conclusion, it can be stated that the counseling facilities are coping with this unusual situation quite well.
Self-concept in the context of work realization form pedagogical worker with hearing impairment

This bachelor thesis is focused on the self-concept of pedagogical workers with hearing impairments employed in education, specifically in kindergartens, primary and high schools for the hearing impaired. The theoretical part focuses on the classification of the hearing impaired, the possibilities of education of the hearing impaired and their employment in the labour market, self-concept and related terms, and the characteristics of individual positions in which teachers with hearing impairments can work within a school for the hearing impaired. The aim of the work is to clarify the issue of self-concept of these workers in their employment. Furthermore, it will also shed light on the influence of lenght of experience and education attainment on the self-concept of teachinh staff with hearing impairement, highlight the use of self-assessment and self-reflection by these staff and last but not least, identify how workplace relationships influence the self-concept of teaching staff with hearing impairment. Quality of an everyday life of people with hearing impaired

1 Summary The thesis deals with the quality of everyday life of the hearing impaired. Part of the text defines the concept of the quality of life and points out the present common problems concerning the life of hearing impaired people. The issues of education, job opportunities, identity and personal realization of a hearing impaired individual in the context of the current view of the quality of life are highlighted. The text also focuses on the heterogeneity of the hearing impaired population and emphasizes their different status in mainstream society relating to the communication code they use. The goal of this thesis is to bring closer the problems of the quality of life of the hearing impaired, with the emphasis on the current problem areas which need further improvement. The practical part contains an analysis and evaluation of a questionnaire survay focused on specific areas of the quality of life quality of the hearing impaired - the qualification, employability, job opportunities and ways of communication.
