Janíková, Katarína ; Housková, Anna (advisor) ; Poláková, Dora (referee)
The intention of the thesis is characterization of the innovative poetry, which appears in a composition named Altazor o el viaje en paracaídas by avant-garde poet Vicente Huidobro. In the beginning, I will focus on describing the situation, which anticipated the creation, partly I will present an author`s background and artistic circles, where he used to appear in. He was influenced significantly by francophone environment. Part of his work, including fragments of Altazor, was even written in french language. Consecutively I will describe the evolution of his literary creation to the moment of writing the Altazor. During this period Vicente Huidobro introduced his own literary movement - the creationism. I will subsequently compare fundamentals of the creationism with the ideas of the Spanish philosopher José Ortega y Gasset expressed in his essay named The Dehumanization of art. Here I will focus on describing the perception of literary creations at the time of writing both pieces and also I will outline characteristics of "new art". Then I will analyse the composition of the Altazor itself with regard to composition, language and themes. I will place the most emphasis on thematic analysis of the composition, where I will focus on usage of recurring motifs. In the language analysis I will explain...
Music in the works of Alejo Carpentier
Bartoníčková, Lenka ; Housková, Anna (advisor) ; Sánchez Fernández, Juan Antonio (referee)
As the title suggests, this thesis deals with the work of a significant Cuban writer, Alejo Carpentier, especially the influence of music on the structure and the overall tone of his fiction texts. As exemplary works we chose three of his later prose works: Manhunt, Concert baroque and The Rite of Spring. The first part of the thesis contains a brief biography of Alejo Carpentier, focusing on the writer's activities and events that would represent his relation to music. In order to get a complex image of the author's literary and musical skills, the facts are supplemented with his thoughts and actual memories. In the essential part of the thesis the three selected books are presented and thoroughly analyzed, focusing again on the presence of music in the author's prose. The chapters are divided into subchapters, in order to give the reader a well structured and understandable definitions and analysis of the particular musical elements that are integrated into the books. Thus, in the chapter dealing with the book Manhunt we introduce the sonata form, give the reader its definition and demonstrate the use of the sonata form as a literary composition pattern in the text. Similarly the role of Beethoven's symphony, Eroica, is discussed, as the characters and structure of the book reflect the themes and design...

Cesário Verde, poet of reality
Contemporary Spanish feminine literature
Berecová, Lucia ; Fousek, Michal (advisor) ; Housková, Anna (referee)
The main objective of our thesis is to present the contemporary Spanish literature written by women, taking into consideration historic and social events along with women's situation in western society. The first part of the thesis is dedicated to a brief description of general history of women, laying emphasis on the feminist movement which culminated in the 20th century. In this part we also focus on the woman phenomenon which has been present in the literature as both creative subject and portrayed object. At the beginning of the second part we point out that men's and women's way of writing and perceiving reality differ. The most important part of the thesis consists in analyzing the destiny of female characters in our selection of novels written by contemporary Spanish female authors, and searching for possible connections between their fictive lives and those of real women living in modern society.
Space in the novels on the border between cultures: Ciro Alegría, Gabriel Casaccia and Edgardo Rivera Martínez
Schůtová, Markéta ; Housková, Anna (advisor) ; Sánchez Fernández, Juan Antonio (referee)
First, we focused on defining the notion of space, place, no-place (in utopia and in the concept of Marc Augé) from the philosophical and anthropological points of view. Some of these notions get also reflected in the theory of literary space. The topic of the presented work concerns the relationship between a subject and its space, especially the concept of belonging to place in three Hispano-American novels: El mundo es ancho y ajeno (Broad and Alian is the World), La Babosa ( The Gossiping Woman) and País de Jauja (Country of Jauja). The first piece written by Ciro Alegría depicts Rumi as an idyllic place which meets the notion of an anthropological place. The second one represents an antithesis of an idyllic happy place. Also the relationship between the characters and their space has a different form. In the view of Fernando Aínsa, these two pieces depict the duality of Hispano-American identity reflected in the literature as a conflict between civilization and barbarism, the city and the country. Nevertheless, there is also another possibility proposed by Edgardo Rivera Martínez in his País de Jauja. Instead of a conflict between the Western and Andean worlds, it portrays their harmonic coexistence. The belonging to place is presented mainly on the cultural level. It seems that Jauja could represent...

Then both characters are compared and their similarly attributes are generalized. Key words: Rómulo Gallegos, Doňa Barbara, La trepadora, regionalism, character theory
On the Transcendental in "Yzur" by Leopoldo Lugones
Moňoková, Veronika ; Housková, Anna (advisor) ; Sánchez Fernández, Juan Antonio (referee)
The diploma thesis attempts to identify transcendental elements of "Yzur", a short story by Leopoldo Lugones. The thesis propounds several theoretical-practical methods regarding the matter. One of the methods is to compare "Yzur" to "Persona", the work of art of the Swedish film maker and screenwriter Ingmar Bergman. The comparison of both texts is based on their complementary reading. It is possible to determinate this way the transcendental points of the short story emerging from the following interlaced levels of the texts: the linguistic level, the stylistic level, the structural level, the thematic level and the interpretative one. One of the most outstanding transcendental elements of "Yzur" is precisely the richness of the possible interpretations. Other important transcendental features include the ambiguity, the contrasts and the active participation of the reader. Key words: Leopoldo Lugones, Persona, Ingmar Bergman, transcendental
