Adaptive population shifts in response to climate change Ing. Michaela Horníková, Doctoral thesis Abstract Understanding of species' reactions to past climate and environmental changes is a hot topic in many fields of biology as it is relevant also for addressing species' future under the contemporary climate change. Using an emerging model species, the bank vole, I combine genomic phylogeographic data with information on known intraspecific functional variability and environmental niche modelling and aim to elucidate the particular role of intraspecific variation and ultimately selection in shaping the species' response to the climatic and environmental changes after the end of the last glaciation. Based on the mtDNA markers, bank voles exhibit a complex phylogeographic pattern suggesting population replacement events during the postglacial recolonization of Europe and thus possible involvement of selection in the process. An extensive dataset of more than 6000 SNPs was used to search for signs of population replacement in the bank vole genomic DNA and to investigate the species' postglacial recolonization history throughout its European distribution range. The genomic data revealed even more complex population history than previously detected with mtDNA markers, including not only admixture but also...
Attendance development of Czech spa from 1993 to 2015
Horníková, Michaela ; Valentová, Jana (advisor) ; Machová, Božena (referee)
The master's thesis deals with attendance development of czech spa from 1993 to 2015 according to various segmentation criteria. In the theoretical part, basic terms related to the spa are specified. At first is defined health tourism, spa and product of spa. Further, statistical indicators of attendance and factors influencing attendance development are given. The practical part is focused on analysis of attendance according to age of patients, method of payment and indication groups from 1993 to 2015. The conclusion summarizes essential findings which were discovered in this thesis.
The comparison of chosen travel agencies
Horníková, Michaela ; Petrů, Zdenka (advisor) ; Voříšková, Barbora (referee)
The bachelor's thesis is focused on the comparison of CK Čedok and CK Alexandria on the basis of stated marketing criteria. In the theoretical part, basic terms related to the activity of the travel agency are specified. At first is defined travel agency, its functions, characteristics of holiday package and services provided by travel agency. Further, the definition of marketing, marketing mix and characteristics of its basic elements are given. The practical part deals with the comparison of holiday package offer, prices and special offers, distribution and promotion of CK Čedok with CK Alexandria. Then the information is evaluated by SWOT analysis. The conclusion summarizes essential findings which were discovered in this thesis.
