On measures of biodiversity and their applications
Horáček, Martin ; Klebanov, Lev (referee) ; Zvárová, Jana (advisor)
In the present work we study problems that are connected to measures of biodiversity. Our approach to these problems is based on theory of information, namely on so called generalized entropies, also known as f-entropies. If we add a restriction on these f-entropies, we receive a set of functions that we call f-diversities, which satisfy usual requirements for functions that are intended to measure biodiversity. Moreover, we show that many measures of diversity that are used in practice are either f-diversities or continuous functions of some f-diversity. We study various measures of diversity and we investigate whether they can or can not be included in this framework. We introduce a concept that can be used to evaluate sensitivity to changes of various measures of diversity. This concept might be useful to study behavior of different measures of biodiversity. We also study issues connected to estimates of biodiversity measures and we investigate some types of estimates. For one type we present a slightly modified approach that can result in better estimates for some measures. We focus on theoretical investigation of measures of diversity, however most of our results are practically applicable.
Vitality in the architectonic environment
Eyer, David ; Horáček, Martin (referee) ; Hudec, Mojmír (referee) ; Kyselka, Mojmír (referee) ; Žabičková, Ivana (advisor)
More and more research studies are being conducted on the quality of architectural space as a factor affecting our mental, social and physical health. In the past, this topic was often overlooked in its complexity. The establishment of the specialized fields of building biology, biophilic architecture and the works of Christopher Alexander and Nikos Salingaros now allow us to consider various facets of this subject. This dissertation aims to analyse the topic of vitality in architectural space by studying the abilities and perceptions of its users. Therefore its aim is not to develop a new theory of “vitality-enhancing architectural space”, but to describe how this phenomenon is perceived by the users themselves. Users can provide feedback on which features of architectural space they see as the most important for the feeling of vitality. These features have been hierarchically organized based on their perceived importance, analysed and described in detail to allow their relatively easy application in practice. This dissertation will also allow a comparison with other existing works on the studied topic.
Steel Structure of Industry Hall
Kačírek, Michal ; Balázs, Ivan (referee) ; Horáček, Martin (advisor)
The aim of the bachelor thesis is to design a one-nave steel structure industrial hall in Jablonne nad Orlici with dimensions 63x30m and 15.0 m in height of the structure. In the hall, two overhead cranes with lifting capacity 32/8 tons and 20/5 tons are installed. The roof structure is designed in a variant of saddle roof with truss girder and truss purling with the function of the longitudinal roof bracing. The columns are solid panel fixed to the foundation pad. The main construction material is steel classed as S355. Spatial rigidity of the structure is provided by sway bracing and longitudinal bracing. Roofing is made of sandwich panels with polyurethane foam and trapezoidal sheet thickness of 0.9 mm. It is designed in accordance with the ČSN EN 1993.
Steel Structure of Multipurpose Sports Hall
Omaník, David ; Pešek, Ondřej (referee) ; Horáček, Martin (advisor)
The aim of this work is to design and check roofing of the multi-purpose sports hall. Roof of the hall has a maximum dimension of 34.5 x 60 m and a maximum height of 7,225 m. Trussed cylindrical girder span of 34.5 meters form the main load-bearing structures. Girders are pin-supported by a pin. Solid-web purlins are pin-supported and transmit loads from the roofing. Stability is assisted braces, sway bracing and longitudinal bracing. Roofing is made of sandwich panels.
Steel load-bearing structure of a sport hall
Cejpek, Martin ; Horáček, Martin (referee) ; Balázs, Ivan (advisor)
The main target is to design and assess the steel structure of a tennis hall. The steel structure is rectangular shaped, single-nave, with a 24 m span and 48 m length (without hanging gable walls). An analysis of two solutions of the supporting structure was performed. The first variant is a pin-supported truss girder connected to columns fixed in the transverse direction and an alternative is a frame construction. Both variants were compared and the amount of steel was found. The selected option was developed in greater detail.
Multipurpose sports hall
Svoboda, Filip ; Horáček, Martin (referee) ; Pešek, Ondřej (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with structural design of a load bearing structure of a roofing of a sports hall. Span of the structure is 37,7m, length is 56m and height is 10m. Main construction material is steel, grade S235. Main load bearing structure is made of frames with axial distances of 6m. These frames are made of truss with triangular cross section. Frame has variable cross section at both ends. Frame is curved and has different radiuses in the middle and at the ends. Global stability is carried by two roof bracings, which are between two frames. Internal forces were calculated in software scia engineer.
Steel Structure of Velodrom
Dušek, Ivo ; Pešek, Ondřej (referee) ; Horáček, Martin (advisor)
Design of load bearing steel structure of a sports hall for track cycling. Examination of main load bearing structural members. Solution of chosen details of joints. Elaboration of production drawings of chosen sections.
Project Management of large Construction Projects
Horáček, Martin ; Pirožek, Petr (advisor) ; Lešetický, Ondřej (referee)
This thesis analyzes the project management of large construction projects (over 1 billion CZK) in the Czech Republic from the perspective of a private investor of profit sector, taking into account the potential impact of foreign capital in the project management. Theoretical and methodological part is focused on identifying specific project management of large construction project, on the basis of english-speaking - mainly British professional literature. The practical part contains a brief description of the specific project and a specific structure and contents of the Project manual of a specific large construction project, this document is the main managing document of the large construction project.
Real Convergence of Economies and their Disruption of Economic Crisis
Horáček, Martin ; Bartošová, Jitka (advisor) ; Bína, Vladislav (referee)
The thesis analyzes the issues of convergence or divergence of the Czech economy and the economies of Germany, Greece and Germany's economy and economies of China and the United States of America. The analysis takes place in the context of the development of gross domestic product per capita adjusted by purchasing power parity and the percentage of government debt to gross domestic product over the last approximately 20 to 25 years and focuses on analyzing the impact of the global economic crisis of late 2007 on the convergence of economies. The analysis showed the impact of the economic crisis, all three groups surveyed economies. In the case of China to the United States it was strengthening the convergence. In cases the Czech Republic and Greece to Germany it was the change from convergence to divergence.
