Gallium complexes for molecular imaging of bone tissue
Holub, Jan ; Kubíček, Vojtěch (advisor) ; Vojtíšek, Pavel (referee)
Title: Gallium Complexes for Molecular Imaging of Bone Tissue Author: Bc. Jan Holub Department of Inorganic Chemistry, Faculty of Science, Charles University Supervisor: RNDr. Vojtěch Kubíček, PhD. Supervisor's Email address: kubicek@natur.cuni.cz ABSTRACT This thesis is focused on preparing new ligands for selective complexation of gallium, which might serve as potential radiopharmaceuticals for 68 Ga-PET bone imaging. Two new ligands were prepared, combining 1,4,7-triazacyclonone-1,4-diacetic acid macrocyclic skeleton and bis(phosphonate) pendant arm, bound to the remaining free nitrogen atom on the macrocycle. Macrocyclic skeleton is responsible for high kinetic and thermodynamic stability of the Ga3+ complex and the bis(phosphonate) pendant arm insures selective delivery of the complex to the bone tissue. Both new ligands were fully characterized by NMR and mass spectroscopy. Complexation of Ga3+ was studied by 31 P and 71 Ga NMR spectroscopy. Binding to bone tissue was simulated by adsorption of the complexes to hydroxoapatite. Radiochemical experiments including study of 68 Ga complexation kinetics and basic in-vivo experiments including biodistribution studies and PET examination were done in cooperation with Johannes-Gutenberg Universität Mainz in Germany. Data obtained from these experiments were...

Recent developments of the Czech lexicon, notably in economic terminology
Nowak, Filip ; Čermák, František (advisor) ; Holub, Jan (referee)
Economics is ranked among the most popular sciences of Today. It is not only the experts who consider economics; non-professional economists do it as well. Economy influences our daily lives and we have a major piece on its development and on the language that describe it. This situation causes the occurrence of some anomalies among economic terms, tendency to use unusual linguistic means on purpose to catch reader's attention or because of natural motivation of well-known matters lying beyond the economic field. This diploma thesis tries to highlight some of those phenomenons. The research takes its stand on the technical economic studies data from the electronic database of Czech National Corpus (Český národní korpus), which allows to determine their frequency as well. The attention is paid mainly to the most typical model in Czech terminology: adjective - noun, noun - adjective, where in addition to semantic, functional classification and frequency, the metaphoric and metonymic motivation or their pragmatic sides are delimitated. There is an effort to classify the metaphoric and metonymic collocations that occurred in the random text sample into semantic categories. Naturally, there is an outline of terminology and metaphors matters as well. The quantitative results are attached in the tables related to...
Problems of Czech morphology in selected handbooks
Prohorenco, Dmitrii ; Hrdlička, Milan (advisor) ; Holub, Jan (referee)
Czech language is inflective, that is one ending/suffix cumulates many categories. Many words (especially nouns, verbs and adjectives) have many forms. There are seven cases, fourteen basic types for nouns, five verb conjugation classes, ten parts of speech in czech. Verbs have categories of voice, aspect, person and tense. Nouns have gramatic categories of number, case and gender. There is a variety of irregularities, dual forms etc. in czech. Czech orthography is complicated when compared to croatian or finish, but is relatively simple when compared to french or english. One can say that czech orthography is phonological, but it takes into consideration also morphology and etymology. Czech is spoken primarily in Czech republic. There are some czech minorities in Australia, Argentina, Romania and USA. Czech is quite popular for foreigners to study, also it is spoken only by aproximately 12 mln. of people. The czech word order is different from the word order of english or french, that is relatively restrictive. The czech word order is on the other hand relatively free. Often all the permutations of words in a clause are possible. The concept of czech word order introduced Vilem Mathesius - the co-founder of Prague Linguistic Circle. Usually there exists the basic word order. Observing discourse patterns,...
Social democracy in political life of Czechoslovakia in 1918-1920
A právě tento vývoj, přechod sociální demokracie v českých a československých podmínkách z pozice nejsilnější opoziční strany do úlohy strany vládní, tvoří jednu z os této práce. Druhou osou je vývoj ve straně samotné. Odráží se na něm samozřejmě také uvedená změna v postavení strany v politickém systému, ale zásadní je i vnitřní vývoj strany spojený s převratnými společenskými změnami v poválečném období, radikalizací...
The reflexiv personal and possessive pronouns in Czech and in Romanian
Florea, Ileana ; Holub, Jan (referee) ; Hrdlička, Milan (advisor)
In the diploma work, we have treated of the problems concerning retlexive and possessive pronouns "se" (oneself) and "svůj" (my, yOUf, and so on) above aH. In the introduction, we have orientated our attention first to deictic words, and successively we got the general description of pronouns in Czech language, where we came principally to possessive and retlexive pronouns. We have concluded that these pronouns are very difficult for foreign student s learning Czech language. We stopped at personal retlexive pronoun "se" (oneself) and "si" (to oneself), pronoun expressing that a person or a thing, this is indicating, is identical with the originator of an action. This originator of an action is usually expressed by the subject and the action by a definite verb but it is possible that it can be expressed by another way as object or infinitive for instance. (see l.2.) From the point of view of the delimitation of lexical language it is necessary to give attention to the ambiguity of the retlexive pronoun ,,se" (oneself). If this is fulfilling the function of an article of object in a sentence construction (myl se - he washed himselj), it is real retlexive pronoun, and consequently an independent lexical unit. If it is part of a retlexive verb (přiznat se - to confess himselj), ifthe case may be of a retlexive...
Language management in Japanese-Czech corporations in the Czech Republic
Sakamoto, Namiko ; Holub, Jan (referee) ; Nekvapil, Jiří (advisor)
Since 1990, Japanese enterprises have been opening branches in Central Europe. The Czech Republic has been one of the most attractive markets for them and their investments have accelerated, especially since the Czech Republic joined the European Union in 2004. At the end of 2003, I began working as a Czech-Japanese interpreter and translator in several Japanese-Czech corporations in the Czech Republic. As I was involved in the multilingual situations of the economic subjects, I was interested in examining whether the multilingual situations had any effects on the economic activities. This study presents a survey of the language situations in three Japanese-Czech corporations in the Czech Republic, where I conducted semi-structured interviews with eleven respondents and recorded two meetings. I demonstrate how the communication between Czech and Japanese workers is practiced and I analyze the acquired data from the perspective of Language Management Theory (LMT). In addition to the semi-structured interviews and audio recordings, the data inc1udes participant observation based on my own activities as an interpreter and a translator. As this is the first detailed study of the language situations in Japanese-Czech corporations in the Czech Republic, it introduces new data and analysis to the body of research...
