Cultural activitis in the City Domažlice

This written work deals with cultural activities of the inhabitants of the town Domažlice between the years 1880 - 1899. The used information is taken from the "Posel od Čerchova" newspaper. The aim of the work is to show particular cultural events as they were presented in the newspaper. The work is divided into three chapters. The first chapter is focused on the concept of culture. It explains the importance of the word culture and events that happened in the 19th century, especially in the second half of the 19th century. The middle part introduces us into the history of Domažlice in the 19th century. We want to create at least a minimal concept of the city development and of the form of the city. We describe the political and economic level of the city in the defined years. We include institutions which were there.The last part shows the cultural activities of the inhabitants the way they were presented in the local newspapers. We answer the question how people lived in a small town and what cultural life they had. We got some answers. The most common activity was the formation of clubs that allowed people to take part in some private or public social events like concerts, trips, lectures, debates etc. The membership brought certain benefits and a certain self-fulfilment. Questions Concerning Elementary Education in Reflection of School Chronicles ZŠ U Santošky 1 (1897-1939) Abstract The focus of this Bachelor's thesis is to comprehend the development of general education in the years 1867 - 1939 in the context of school chronicles from elementary school U Santošky 1 which history illustrates the general scheme. First chapter describes theresian education together with the development of education in Smíchov until 1897, when IVth general school for boys and girls in Smíchov was founded (today elementary school U Santošky 1). The following chapter describes the characteristics of general education and the changes that were applied during the era. The third chapter focuses on changes and development since the foundation of the independent Czechoslovakia until the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia was established. Decline of the Czech teacher's elite 1945-1955

This dissertation focuses on history of czech teachers, primarily high school teachers. The idea is to originate everything from the basics of history that is traditionally in rythm with political changes. This thesis is focused on deeper understanding of transformation of czech education, changes and developpement of one multilayered professional status or in the end a change of czech society in the first half of the 20th century. The time period between 1945 and 1955 is well known for its political, bussines and economic transitions. The main focus of this disertation is to show from the history of teachers which they are related to the teaching laws, the big modification that has happened at the time period. Concrete examples are presented in a detailed developpements which are different between inland and borderline gymnasiums and the way the teaching is conducted. This disertation offers complete picture of this topic, that is until now processed only in ideologically orientated publications. Vítkovice in the Era of State-building. The Contribution to Social History

The aim of the diploma thesis called "Vítkovice in the Era of State-Building. The Contribution to Social History" is to describe and analyse social relations and social interactions in Vítkovice in the twenties of the 20th century. It is focused on two main topics which were really important for society in Vítkovice in that period. The thesis consists of two chapters, which are: relation between nations and housing strategy. The dynamics of the society in Vítkovice is determined by the Vítkovice Ironworks. That is reason why company is such important part of the research field. Position of Vítkovice Ironworks was very influential because of connection between the company and the city. Whereas relations between nations were strained because of policy of the company, despite of housing crisis Ironwork's housing strategy helped to unify the society.
Economic life of Hořovice town until 1945

Podbrdsko is characteristic area of iron processing. The local production of iron goes along human lives for centuries. Komárov ironworks, which had a unique effect for the whole region, were very important in iron processing evolution. Domestic production was the second type of iron processing. Hořovice were well-known for domestic production of nails. Around 1850, domestic production began to gradually disappear. The reason was the move to the factory production. Many large iron processing factories was founded in Hořovice. Harmonicas manufacturing, match industry or hospitality services were other important economic sectors in Hořovice.
