Analysis results are used in the propositional part of the Thesis, which describes the measures to improve the current communication mix of the company.
Changes of physical-chemical parameters of surface water in context with hydrological extremes. Application in the Rolava River catchment.
Šajnarová, Lucie ; Matoušková, Milada (advisor) ; Havlíková, Petra (referee)
6 Abstract The diploma thesis deals with changes in the physico-chemical parameters of surface flows in response to extremes, especially increased flows due to higher precipitation totals or melting snow. The basin of the upper Rolava with peat bogs in the basin and minimal anthropogenic influence was used. The main goal of the work was the analysis of the behavior of electrical conductivity during events when there was an increase in flow rates and the categorization of individual events according to this behavior. Furthermore, the influence of the pre-condition of the watershed on the events and the subsequent behavior of the electrical conductivity was also investigated. The 10-minute electrical conductivity and flow data from the automatic stations of the ecohydrology team of the Faculty of Science, UK, or ČHMÚ were used. Among the methods are data homogenization, construction of hysteresis loops, categorization of loops, calculation of indices for hysteresis loops and PCA analysis for the pre-condition of the watershed. In most cases, a reverse relationship of electrical conductivity behavior was observed during these events, the most common types of electrical conductivity behavior during flow increases include a slow decrease in conductivity with minimum values after the peak of flow (in light...
Development of Nutrient and Pesticide Concentrations in the Sázavka River and Their Changes in Connection with the Rainfall-runoff Regime
Pavlíková, Anna ; Havlíková, Petra (advisor) ; Matoušková, Milada (referee)
This bachelor thesis aims to study the selected parameters and nutrients of water quality in relation to the rainfall-runoff regime in the Sázavka River basin. The rainfall-runoff regime is influenced by many factors, including the climate change, which has received more and more attention in recent years. These changes may have a consequential impact on the quality of surface waters. In the first part of this paper selected parameters of water quality are presented. The aim was to try to understand their behaviour under the changing water flow dynamics. For this purpose, Czech and foreign literature was used. In this thesis there are also presented the most common statistical methods that are used in analysing geochemical parameters. The second part of this paper deals with the changes of climate- hydrological characteristics (air temperature, precipitation, snow cover and flow), the analysis of nutrients (forms of nitrogen and phosphorus) and physical parameters (water temperature and electrolytic conductivity). Lastly, metabolites of herbicides that ware above the detection limit in the watershed (acetochlor ESA, alachlor ESA, dimethachlor ESA and metolachlor ESA) were assessed. The analysis used some of the methods introduced in the research section. The regression analysis, correlation...
Changes of selected surface water geochemistry parameters in relation to rainfall-runoff regime
Bartůšek, Adam ; Matoušková, Milada (advisor) ; Havlíková, Petra (referee)
This work deals with the study of changes in the geochemistry of surface waters in relation to the rainfall-runoff regime and its transformation. As rainfall-runoff extremes such as long episodes of drought with low flows or, conversely, high flows caused by extreme rainfall events have been increasing in recent years, it is important to understand how these phenomena affect water quality. Therefore, the main objectives of this work are firstly a literature search on the changes in surface water geochemistry during change of climate and precipitation-runoff regime and methods that can be used to quantify these changes, and then the application of some of these methods to the analysis of selected parameters and their changes in the Klíčava catchment. In addition to some climatic characteristics and flow rates, the analysis included basic parameters of geochemistry (flow rate, water temperature), physicochemical parameters (electrolytic conductivity, pH), some nutrients (forms of nitrogen and phosporus) and indicators of organic pollution and stream cleanliness (BOD5, CODCr, TOC and dissolved oxygen). In addition, the status and evolution of concentrations of some herbicide metabolites were briefly assessed. For data analysis, e.g. box plots, Mann-Kendall test, correlation coefficients or linear...
Manifestation of flood in June 2013, Upper Lužnice River
Jaček, Matouš ; Šobr, Miroslav (advisor) ; Havlíková, Petra (referee)
This thesis is about progression of chosen fluvial lakes in the upper basin of the river Lužnice. Observed changes were mainly caused by flood in spring 2013. This area is located by national border with Austria. This part of the river is very preserve and almost without human modifications. The Lužnice river is floating throw floodplain creating meanders and also many fluvial lakes. This area is very useful for research in flooding and changes they cause. First part of this thesis is focused on work with literature about fluvial lakes, their changes and characteristic, about floods and their effect on landscape and about the river Lužnice itself. The second part is about measuring and evaluating changes on four fluvial lakes. These lakes were mapped and measured and those measuring were compared to the measuring made before flood in June 2013.
Development of fluvial lakes in the Lužnice River floodplain
Hastíková, Petra ; Šobr, Miroslav (advisor) ; Havlíková, Petra (referee)
The object of the thesis is to evaluate the development of several chosen fluvial lakes in the basin of the river Lužnice, mainly in the section between the border with Austria and Suchdol nad Lužnicí. The river Lužnice in this particular section represents low intensity of modification. Many fluvial lakes are situated there and the river is meandering remarkably in the area. The first part of the thesis deals with the characteristics of the natural conditions in the basin of Lužnice and the defined floodplain and the problematics of lakes and their determination. The main part of the thesis focuses on the evaluation of the flow development and fluvial lakes of the Lužnice floodplain based on the data of a aerosnapshoting. Because of the gradual decease of the meanders and straightening of the flows, it is possible to claim that the river has been considerably shortened with the passing time. In the thesis, 34 chosen fluvial lakes, that were measured morphometrically and batymetrically, were studied in detail.
Impacts of hydrological extremes on surface water quality in headwater areas. Application in the model study area of the upper Rolava catchment.
Šajnarová, Lucie ; Matoušková, Milada (advisor) ; Havlíková, Petra (referee)
Precipitation-runoff extremes in the source areas have a significant effect on changes in the geochemism of surface waters, which also affect peatlands in the basin. The main goals of this theses include research literature on the topic of changes in the geochemism of surface waters in spring areas with peat bogs in the basin in response to precipitation-runoff extremes. Furthermore, an analysis of runoff and precipitation conditions in the hydrological years 2018, 2019 and 2020 and an analysis of changes in water quality parameters depending on precipitation-runoff extremes for the period from 2013 to 2020 were performed. The relationship between conductivity and flow was monitored using hysteresis loops. The work used data from the experimental profile of KFGG PřF UK on the Slatinný potok and data on flows for the profile Chaloupky in the Rolava from ČHMÚ. The results show that the relationship between conductivity and flow can be analyzed using hysteresis loops, especially in the period with a rapid increase in flow and their shape changes depending on the reconditioning of the basin. Flow dependence was also observed for other parameters, such as iron. Keywords: hydrological drought, flood, surface water quality, peat bog, electrical conductivity, hysteresis loop
