Memories on racist propaganda, 1938-1945
Havlíková, Hana ; Stella, Marco (advisor) ; Hermann, Tomáš (referee)
The goal of this thesis is to find out if racial and antisemitic propaganda had an impact on Czech people. This goal was realised on antisemitic programmes which were aired in Český rozhlas during the years 1938- 1945. Then I made interviews with people who lived during Protectorate Bohemia and Moravia and who already participated on my previous research. The interviews helped to find out whether the antisemitic propaganda had any impact on the people and if it had, to what extent.
Of ants and men. Myrmecological inspirations of anthropology in the work of V. J. A. Novák (1919-1997)
Hampl, Petr ; Stella, Marco (advisor) ; Hermann, Tomáš (referee)
The work presents life and work of Vladimir Jan Amos Novak, it shows his main thoughts unified by the principle of sociogenesis and points at its inspiration in older traditions of german and russian biology. It also concerns his anthropology as related to the principle of sociogenesis and shows some peculiar Novak's contributions, mainly his opinions on progessive neotenization of man and evolutionary tedency for association. It grasps the principle of sociogenesis as a biological and also a political concept and therefore shows its very political consequences presented mainly on his social thoughts. The work also deals with the relations between eastern and western science on Novák's efforts to unify all sciences under one universal evolutionary framework regardless its geographical belonging. Throughout the work is Novak shown in the context of man-animal relations and the principle of sociogenesis as arising from myrmecological studies. There are therefore presented anthropological works of three important myrmecologists A. Forel, W.M. Wheeler and E.O. Wilson as inspired in the study of ants.
The Contribution of Oskar Heiroth to the Formation of Classical German Ethology
Bradáč, Ondřej ; Hermann, Tomáš (referee) ; Komárek, Stanislav (advisor)
Oskar Heinroth was a German zoologist and is frequently considered as the founder of ethology. Thanks to his lifetime observing of animals, especially birds, made he the conclusion that movement, display of behavior and other signs which haven't been taken into account until his days are equally important for the right animal classification as morphology. He is a discoverer of species typical instinctive behavior and he observed as the first one several other ethological phenomenons as imprinting, drop-off of the treshold value of the signal or idle-running reactions. He iniciated a more pragmatic sight into animal psychics and laid foundations of ethological methodics. Thanks to his publication a darwinistic attitude got access into psychological sciences. Regarding his evidence Konrad Lorenz, Erich von Holst and Nicholas Tinbergen constituted ethology as integrated science, which has later been confirmed on the premisies of universities.

Ochrana životního prostředí a vlastnické právo 67 ČÁST V. 1. Zhodnocení skutečného stavu právní ochrany lesa a ochrany přírody a krajiny. 2 lesního zákona) a řada dalších skutečností, např. skladba nově vysazovaných dřevin, vymezení obecného užívání lesů...

Originality of Science and the Issue of Plagiarism. Three Contribution by E. Rádl from the years 1902-1911 on Language Issues in Science
Hermann, Tomáš
Subject of the contribution includes selected publicistical and polemical outputs of biologist and philosopher Emanuel Rádl (1873-1942) from two decades before the First World War, which touch upon the issues of national language in science: 1. In a small replica from 1902, R. Fick, a professor from Leipzig, was interested in the general issue of the meaning of science being accomplished in the national languages of small nations. 2. In a longer, idependent essay from 1910 on the nature of Czech natural sciences, Rádl reacted to the general accusation that Czech science lacked originality and plagiarized the German model. 3. At the same time, Rádl himself headed directly into the heart of the Czech scientific community, accusing his colleague, botanist K. Domin, of plagiarism. The following furious controversy affected a part of the natural sciences community. The biographical circumstances related to one individual show one type deliberation of the time on the language issue in science.
Project of asubjective phenomenology of Jan Patočka. Contribution to European philosophy from the period of 'normalization'
Hermann, Tomáš
Contribution from the conference, revised into an extensive study. In a synthetic manner it evaluates the philosophical development of Czech thinker Jan Patočka (1907-1977), culminating in the period of normalization with the philosophical project "asubjective phenomenology". The study on the one side follows the origin, character and uniqueness of this project in connection with European phenomenologically oriented philosophy of the 20th century. On the other hand, it notices the significance of Patočka's professional and pedagogical work for Czech education in the period of political restriction, as one of the centers of continuity of Czech independent thinking. As part the study, Patočka's newly discovered correspondence with Czech publisher František Laichter, incorporating the period from the 1930s to the 1970s, is evaluated for the first time.
