The main target of this study is to identify the scales in MMPI-2 which could help the differential diagnostic process between Asperger's syndrome and schizophrenia. Adult persons with Asperger's syndrome and adult persons with schizophrenia were examined. The study has a quantitative character, concretely data mining, which offers generating and verifying hypothesis. The results show that configuration of heights of specific scales can be crucial in distinguishing between Asperger's syndrome and schizophrenia. In the concrete we expect increase in 0Si, Sc1, Pa2 and OBS along with medial T-scores in Sc6, Pa1, Psyc and Biz in protocols of people with Asperger's syndrome. People with schizophrenia have increased T-scores in Sc6, Pa1, Psyc and Biz. KEY WORDS  Asperger's syndrome  Schizophrenia  Differential diagnostic  Adulthood  MMPI-2
Integrative Validation
Janečková, Klára ; Hadj - Moussová, Zuzana (advisor) ; Goldmann, Petr (referee)
The main focus of this thesis is Nicole Richard's Integrative Validation approach which has been developed specifically for patients suffering from dementia. The aim is, firstly, to give a comprehensive description of this approach which previously in the Czech Republic has been neither applied nor described in detail, and secondly, to look at its theoretical foundations and evaluate its practical implications for patient care. Integrative Validation is described as a non-pharmaceutical holistic approach to patients suffering from dementia with the principal aim of improving the lives of these patients and of dealing with the problematic behaviour of patients suffering from BPSD (Behavioral and psychological Symptoms of Dementia). The approach makes use of the so called interviews in Integrative Validation which are conducted between carers trained in Integrative Validation and patients suffering from dementia. These interviews are based on several basic principles: carers endeavour to understand the experience of patients, to mirror their emotions and, whenever possible, to come up with solutions. By contrast, carers should not attempt to bring disoriented patients back to reality, confront them with their disorientation, interpret their behaviour, take what they say literally nor distract them from their...

Author is highlighting mounting society tolerance to stress and to alcohol abuse and she also shows this two phenomenon in mutual context. By the women side of population author particular describe dependence and border of society norm. Main goal is to bring to light and explore maladaptive strategies, by women with alcohol dependence, which are varied from ordinary population and the reason of such a behavior. To solve this issue author chose two methods. Firstly she uses data from TAT projective test, secondly verbal self examination test SVF. Inquire group of women author compare with control group of women, who embody no alcohol problem. Better success is expected from control group, because normal population should have better coping strategies. From result of research ensue, that women with alcohol dependence embody worse coping strategies indeed. But this difference is not such as strong as was expected. In declarative test SVF alcohol dependent women overestimate their strategies in comparison to TAT. On the base of this fact author offers hypothesis, that it can be only proclamation in presentation of coping strategies. Women from control group anticipate their strategies more accurately.
