Media view of events of november 1939 in chosen years

The presented bachelor thesis deals with media view of events of November 1939 created by Rudé právo, Lidová demokracie and Mladá fronta in chosen years, starting 1945, then 1949 and then after every five years until 1968 and 1969. The theoretical part provides an insight into the historical background of these events based on the academic literature. The practical part contains the analysis of particular articles and it is divided into seven chapters according to examined year. Each chapter includes brief information about the status of media in society in a selected year, a description of the media image of these events produced by the newspapers mentioned above and its subsequent analysis at the end of each chapter. The aim of this thesis is finding how Czech newspapers presented the events of Novemeber 1939 depending on their orientation and the social and political context by using comparative historical analysis.

East Germany press agency ADN

This thesis deals with the establishment and development of the East German press agency Allgemeiner Deutscher Nachrichtendienst (ADN). History and main development changes and tendencies of the agency are described here from its foundation in 1946 till the beginning of 1990. The chapter about cooperation between the East German agency ADN and the Czechoslovak News Agency CTK is part of the main body of the text about the ADN. The paper also gives a brief outline of history of the Soviet occupation zone of Germany and the German Democratic Republic (GDR) from 1945 till the end of 1989. Further, the view on the media sphere of the GDR and its main attributes and characteristics form a part of the paper. Regulation and control system of the media in East Germany in the second half of the 20th century is also introduced in this part.

Challenges in Providing Unpublished Research Data in Biomedical Engineering to Grey Literature Repositories

Regardless of the scientific field or focus, every researcher produces during his or her career a multitude of unpublished research data such as laboratory diaries, grant proposals, images etc. Although making such data more accessible undoubtedly has value for researchers, they are currently not shared in open repositories. Why are researchers still reluctant to actively use grey literature repositories for unpublished contextual materials and data? Authors will discuss how scientists might be encouraged to add such material to grey literature repositories and specific examples of unpublished research data will be shown in connection to model scientifi c project.

Účelem zahraniční pracovní cesty do Würzburgu (Bavorsko, Německo) bylo setkání s Oborovými specialisty univerzitní knihovny Julius-Maximilians Univerzity ve Würzburgu, umístěné v areálu Campusu Am Hubland. Němečtí odborníci byli dotázáni na své zkušenosti a pojetí pozice Oborového specialisty (včetně náplně práce, typických komplikací a výzev, vývoje a změn této pozice v horizontu posledních 30let). Vedlejším cílem bylo zahájení obousměrné komunikace mezi oborovými specialisty, diskuze shodných a rozdílných parametrů pracovního prostředí (univerzitní vs. celostátní odborná knihovna; legislativa…), způsoby oslovení a udržení jednotlivých cílových skupin zákazníků a koncept spolupráce knihoven různého zaměření pro vyšší komfort zákazníků (viz německý model).
