PLC-based Flow Monitoring System
Vostřel, Tomáš ; Benešl, Tomáš (referee) ; Fiedler, Petr (advisor)
This Bachelor thesis is focused on designing and implementing a PLC-based flow monitoring system. The system is built on B&R Industrial Automation GmbH devices (especially on a PLC and touch screen combination named Power Panel C70) and ifm electronic GmbH flow sensors (the supported types are SD8000, SD9000, SM2000 and SM9004). System requirements are described in the first part of the thesis as well as the application and visualization concept. The technical equipment and the implementation of the PLC application and visualization are presented in the second part of the thesis. The application was developed in the B&R Automation Studio (4.3.4.121 SP version) using the Structured text programming language (according to the IEC 61131-3 standard). Visual Components (4.34.1 version) tool was used to generate the visualization. All system requirements were met and the system itself is currently in use by the Milacron company in Polička to monitor and record the consumption of compressed air and cooling water of their plastic processing machines.
Multi-Conductor Model of Communication over Outdoor Power Lines
Franek, Lešek ; Steinbauer, Miloslav (referee) ; Vozňák, Miroslav (referee) ; Fiedler, Petr (advisor)
PLC - power line communication is not new. It has been known for many years. But It never be used in massive scale. There were only sporadic applications, for example ripple control system HDO used in the Czechoslovakia. PLC currently experiencing a renaissance thanks to the advent of Smart Grid. PLC offering relatively low bit rates and relatively unreliable transmission, but these disadvantages compensates very low costs to build a communication infrastructure and it offers specific functionalities for Smart Grid. The question is whether the declared parameters will be met in the real world. This thesis tries to find an answer.
Telemetric wireless tire temperature module
Halgoš, Matúš ; Fiedler, Petr (referee) ; Benešl, Tomáš (advisor)
This work dedicates wireless telemetry, specifically one part, which is the measurement of tire temperature. In the individual chapters, giving the reader the reasons who and under what circumstances can benefit from this information introduces the reader to the ways in which the temperature can be measured, processed and sent. In the following chapters, the reader will be introduced to the selection of components used in the design. And the last part deals with the design of hardware and software of the battery-powered module for measuring the temperature of tires, which is part of the datalogger, which collects vehicle driving data.
Temperature, pressure and humidity monitoring system for a workshop floor
Kudera, Tomáš ; Arm, Jakub (referee) ; Fiedler, Petr (advisor)
This thesis deals with the design of overall concept of distributed system which is used for temperature, pressure and humidity measurement. The system is adapted to be used in instrument transformers and sensors production hall of ABB s.r.o. Brno. Firstly, the requirements for the measuring system are defined. After that market research focused on sensors and measurement modules is performed. The selected sensor is afterwards built into own measurement module for which hardware and software part is designed. The work continues with design of local and remote database of measured values. Besides, the PC software used for local and remote data storage is designed afterwards. The components of the measurement system are tested in the final part of the thesis.
Car Driving Simulator
Michalík, David ; Fiedler, Petr (referee) ; Jirgl, Miroslav (advisor)
This master’s thesis is mainly focused on creating our own car driving simulator and basic data gathering from the driver’s input. To achieve this goal, the thesis includes introduction to man-machine systems and basic information about functions and runtime game engine employs. Research about commonly used open source game engines is also presented with a detailed focus on the engine we chose - Unreal Engine. In conclusion ofthis thesis, a full version of a car driving simulator is created with gathered data analysis.
Door control module
Šrámek, Jiří ; Burian, František (referee) ; Fiedler, Petr (advisor)
The thesis deals with development of the control module of a permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSP) which is being developed as a reliable part of the platform door system. The whole electronics (including reliable, safe and information parts) will be a product of STARMON company. The paper fully describes the determination of requirements and limitations coming from the national standards involved. Furthermore, it describes the process used for the identification of PMSM parameters, the method used for controlling the PMSM by the original electronics and other generally known methods, while choosing the most optimal one for this application, including the process of designing appropriate controllers. After that, it deals with designing appropriate schematic and realization of hardware. The end of the thesis describes the structure of communication protocol, developed firmware as well as the developed PC application and its user interface.
RS-485 demonstration board
Hříbek, Šimon ; Burian, František (referee) ; Fiedler, Petr (advisor)
First part is focused on basics of standard RS-485. Characteristics, industrial applicarions and different variants are described here. Second part is about design of device itself. Its focused on schematic design of the device. Three main parts of device are described here. Third part is about proces of choosing right components and theirs key aspects. Last part descibes previous versions of design of device. Major changes and fixes are mentioned here.
Optimization of a production line
Štoudek, Marcel ; Arm, Jakub (referee) ; Fiedler, Petr (advisor)
The aim of this thesis is to analyze the problem of rubber production lines and their possible elimination. The next step is the point that will be devoted to the design of a possible improvement of the line to increase efficiency, the software I worked with will be described, the hardware that was used, and in the final part the source code for the control system, which is designed for very precise frame positioning in one part of the line.
Controller of hot runner for injection molds
Chrenka, Eduard ; Fiedler, Petr (referee) ; Štohl, Radek (advisor)
The thesis focuses on implementation of a hot runner controller for injection molds for plastic materials with a maximum number of 56 regulated zones. The first part of the thesis deals with already existing and used solutions of the given subject. The following part of the thesis describes the principles of temperature measurement by means of thermoelectric sensors, including their linearization as well as communication protocols MODBUS, EUROMAP 17. The identification of a regulated system ( heating zone) has been carried out before the hardware design. The development process is divided into some parts : system conception, hardware design, software development. The controller consists of measuring modules designed to collect data and handle power controllers for management of performance of heating elements. The necessary calculation power is integrated into the controllling computer. All parts of a hot runner controller are implemented taking into account the costs.
Control and visualization of programme blocks for sewage treatment
Monček, Matej ; Fiedler, Petr (referee) ; Štohl, Radek (advisor)
The theme of master thesis was to cover issues of controlling the wastewater treatment plant, to introduce latest standards applied in design of graphical interface and design the set of fucntional and graphical objects. First parts focuses on listing of power devices, sensors used in wastewater plant and issues of its control, followed by HMI standards introduction. Practical part contents of configuration of control system, desription of functions with flowcharts. Subsequently the thesis covers specificall graphical objects and its connection onto functional blocks.
