Gender in the playground: Ethnographic research This hesis analyses the (re)production of gender stereotypes in the playground. The theoretical framework of the analysis is based on the classical approaches (Renzetti and Curran 2005 Jarkovská 2004) , gender socialization (Giddens 1999, Gilligan 2001 and Bem 2003) and is also inspired by current research on playgrounds (Paetcher, Clark 2003 Millan 2012). The research was conducted at a playground located in Beroun throughout years 2013 and 2014 as a non-participating observation of the visitors of the playground. The work presents a comprehensive view of gender and gender stereotypes reproduced at the playground in two areas: 1) the area of gender stereotypes in the playground reproduced by children and 2) the area of gender stereotypes which adult accompaniment brings to the field. Analysis shows the way in which these categories are (re)constructed and played out in everyday life and how they affect the subculture of the playground. The analysis is mainly based on the surprising finding that the children at the playground were accompanied by almost the same number of men as women. Politicizing Sexualities: Mobilization practices and networking within the LGBTQ movement in contemporary Madrid

This ethnographic study intends to explain the recent mobilization practices within the LGBTQ movement in contemporary Madrid in reference to the strategic use of identity and networking in collective action. It describes the Spanish movement as an ideologically polarized heterogeneous aggregate. The active challenging groups criticize the dominant part of the movement for giving up its original message of sexual liberation and diluting it in consumerism by supporting capitalist tendencies and the power of leading political parties. Via launching protest campaigns and collaborating in internationally supported networks with other ideologically related social movement communities, the challenging groups demand civil rights for all people, regardless of their sexual orientation or identity. They mobilize upon the collective identity of "precariousness" while integrating elements of queer and transgender theory into their radical leftist oriented politics in order to transform the Spanish society. By bringing on new critical ideas and adherents, the success of the leftist oriented challenging groups has an impact on the direction of the politics of the dominant group, which thereby is forced to adopt such ideas into their politics. Movements of migrants from Eastern metropolis in a globalizing world

This paper is focused on current trends in migration processes. The content is based on results of qualitative research, using the grounded theory method. This approach followed the movements of young migrants from Eastern Slovak city Košice, in different phases of development. Findings of the research were tied with relevant theories describing current processes, which are the results of intensive changes in society and create challenging environment for migration. Movements of migrants are directly connected to life perspectives and strategies in creating an optimal life conditions. The goal of the paper is to reveal behavioral similarities of migrant, in individualized and diversificated society, and to bring more comprehensive view of migration issue.

Gender aspect in czech music bands

This thesis deals with gender stereotypes and presence of gender regulations in Prague rock bands. This thesis is focused on presence of gender aspects which are viewed from a gender point of view. Main aim of my research is to cover influence of gender regulations in specificic musicial field which has connotation primarly with men. I'm going to fulfill the aim of my research by research in field, by interviews with informators and content lyrics analysis. This thesis is divided into two parts: theoretical and empirical. Theoretical part contains particular definitions and theoretical approaches. Empirical describes a strategy of my research, whole procedure and results of the research. "I feel like an alien" - migration of Filipino women and mixed marriages

This thesis reacts to the Philippine migration trend, supported by Philippine government for economic reasons, mostly regarding to work opportunities of migrants abroad. Author concentrates on primarily non-work related migration but the partnership related one, with focus on Filipino women, who migrate to Czech republic with their husbands. The work is based on 5 in-depth interviews with female Filipino migrants, where choice strategies and important moments in constructed narrative images of reality were identified. In the process of migration the gender power change was identified as non-fluid. Gender is being perceived as anchored in the institutions and social relations that are not space-dependant, in this case it manifests in the family. Family relations are lasting across spatial distance and so they constitute the feeling of migrants that they have to support their family. There is also the difference between strategies of women who could migrate into developed country sooner and therefore broaden their gender power and those for whom Czech Republic is the first country, where they migrated and became financially and also partly socially dependent on their husband.

Identity and Ethnicity View of the czech ethnocultural diversity in Rio Grande do Sul

The aim of this work is to reconstruct the history of the life of the Bo?mios living in the Brazilian state Rio Grande do Sul. This will be done through identifying the importance they ascribe to their tradition, history and memory, as well as, their activity on the Rio Grande social, economic and political scene. Also, it will be necessary to map out their symbolical world - regenerate their collective memory in relationship to important circumstances that led to their immigration to Brazil and their subsequent arrival to Rio Grande do Sul. This research brings description and analysis of the cultural aspects of the Bo?mios in Rio Grande do Sul. For this purpose, the paper draws on the foundations of the life stories of the important representatives of this culture. Recently they showed a great interest in getting to know their real origins, something we could call the search for ethnic identity as a subject of the history of immigration. They founded compatriotic groups, started learning Czech language that has never been their mother tongue and attempted to renew contacts with the Czech Republic. All these circumstances served as an impulse for this research.
