Numerical Study Of Pulsating Jet At Moderately Small Reynolds Numbers
Study of Inertial Particle Separator in a typical turboprop engine
Skála, Adam ; Doupník, Petr (referee) ; Popela, Robert (advisor)
This thesis focuses on ingestion of foreign objects into standard turboprop engine GE H80 situated in aircraft Let L-410 Turbolet. Aim of this study is to create methodology of numerical simulation of particle movement inside the engine, which could be used during design process of Inertial Particle Separator device. Thesis consists of backward-facing step benchmark study which validates used methodology. Second part describes flow field calculation and numerical setup. The last part is dedicated to particle tracking analysis. Simulated trajectories are visually investigated, and coordinates of particle impacts at 1st rotor of a compressor are correlated to position of real observed damage.
Design of turbine engine inlet in NACA-duct configuration
Babinec, Viktor ; Navrátil, Jan (referee) ; Doupník, Petr (advisor)
This master thesis is focused on design and aerodynamic analysis of subsonic turbine engine inlet in NACA duct configuration for unmanned aircraft. The first part of this paper is methodics for design considerations for NACA duct, which is based on theoretical analysis of this type of inlet. The acquired knowledge is used to design an inlet for the specified unmanned aircraft that is subject of CFD analysis. The impact of deflectors is considered in the evaluation and the solution is compared to the S-duct inlet. The proposed inlet with deflectors meets DC60 distortion criterion for all specified cases and the pressure losses requirements are met for lower velocities. Based on the results, the recommended application is for aircraft that flies in optimal design conditions for most of the mission.
Competition aircraft wing tips
Zima, Martin ; Koutník, Tomáš (referee) ; Doupník, Petr (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deal with wing tip design of airplane for competition. Airplane named FabricK I is design for Air Cargo Challenge competition. The first part of bachelor thesis is focused on description of competition and flight aircraft modes. Hereafter are compared the types of wing tips. Most suitable wing tip is then applied on FabricK I.
Modern Aerodynamic Optimization Methods Application to Transonic Wing Design with Implemented Basic Structural Constraints
Doupník, Petr ; Salga, Jaroslav (referee) ; Pátek, Zdeněk (referee) ; Píštěk, Antonín (advisor)
The thesis gives overview of complex aerodynamic optimization approach applied to business-jet aircraft wing design. Response surface method (RSM) potential was explored particularly. The efficiency of RSM approach for CFD based aerodynamic optimization was demonstrated. Basic structural requirements were successfully integrated to optimization – real multidisciplinary problem was solved. Some methods for evaluation of forces distribution along wingspan were explored. Thesis was solving within the frame of 6th EU FP integrated project CESAR.
Computational analysis of high lift devices loads for L410 aircraft and its comparison to experimental data
Florián, Martin ; Koutník, Tomáš (referee) ; Doupník, Petr (advisor)
The computational model design of a twin-engine, turbo-propeller, commuter aircraft and its two landing configuration analysis is the subject of the Master‘s thesis. The solution contents calibration part, creation of a computational mesh, global aerodynamics characteristics definition and detailed high lift devices load of L410 NG aircraft. The acquired results are compared to wind tunnel data. The comparison of accuracy and advantages of CFD is involved as well.
CFD analysis of turboprop engine air intake
Przeczek, Jan ; Doupník, Petr (referee) ; Popela, Robert (advisor)
This diploma thesis is focused on CFD analysis of M-601 turboprop engine nacelle mounted on L-410 commuter aircraft. Calibrating exercise is performed at the beginning of the thesis in order to be more familiar with CFD problems. Next parts of the thesis are chronologically divided with respect to project progress, namely suitable geometrical model creation, mesh creation in order to obtain computational model, calculation using CFD methods, results evaluation and proposal of possible construction transformation at the conclusion.
