Ostrýžová, Martina ; Dittmann, Robert (advisor) ; Martínek, František (referee)
The M.A. thesis explores the dialect of the village Vír, which is situated in Czech-Moravian boundary dialectal area. The exploration focuses on selected features from phonetics and phonology and morphology, specified on the basis of isoglosses described in the Český jazykový atlas (Czech Dialect Atlas) or in older publications. The research of features followed is based on interviews with old generation informants, which is delimited in accordance with the Czech Dialect Atlas as speakers older than 65. The audiorecordings were further processed, the material was transcribed according to standard rules for dialectological transcription. A comparison with standard works of Czech dialectology (such as Běličʼs Nástin české dialektologie, Český jazykový atlas, Utěšenýʼs Nářečí přechodného pásu česko-moravského. Hláskosloví) shows that the oldest generation speakers in Vír still keep some of the typical traits of the Czech-Moravian dialectal group while other such features are retreating. Key words: Czech-Moravian dialectal group, old generation, local dialect, Vír

The diploma thesis Philological Marginal Notes in John's Gospel of Blahoslav's Translations of New Testament deals with the characteristics of the philological marginal notes in John's Gospel of Blahoslav's New Testament from the year 1564 and 1568. The life of Jan Blahoslav, the information about Blahoslav's New Testament and the history of the research about his translation of New Testament are summarised in the thesis as well as the tradition of Bible commentary and marginal notes in their European and Czech contexts. In the practical part the thesis presents the number of philological marginal notes explored in both editions, the number of variants in marginal notes and their word class distribution. It tries to find possible sources for the text in marginal notes. It uses Czech printed translations of the Bible (Klaudyán's New Testament, Lukáš's New Testament, Optát's New Testament, Melantrich's Bible of 1556-1557) and Latin translations by Erasmus and Beza and their annotations and Vulgate. As a supplement to the thesis there is also a list of excerpted philological marginal notes from both editions of Blahoslav's New Testament and corresponding places in Bible translations examined.
The speech of younger generation in Frýdek-Místek
Janáková, Bára ; Chromý, Jan (advisor) ; Dittmann, Robert (referee)
This thesis presents an analysis of the casual speech of high school students in Frýdek-Místek. Use of dialectal features which should be typical both for the area of Frýdek-Místek and for the broader Moravian and Silesian area was analyzed. Thus, we wanted to document the impact of dialect levelling in the speech of younger generation. Data were gathered using sociolinguistic interviews. The sample was very homogeneous and it was designed to represent a specific category of speakers, i.e. high-school students. Mostly, the interdialectal variants were preferred over dialectal ones. One of the features which is still commonly used is the pronunciation of -mě- as [mje].

One part of the thesis consists of short description of the idiolect of each spokesman and of speech samples of informants. The results of the research are presented separately for each feature for both groups investigated (rural and urban speakers). In the conclusion of the thesis, the author summarizes the results gained. The rural speakers of the Lomnice microregion still use some dialectal features typical for the region under the Giant Mountains (Podkrkonoší), whereas in the urban areas these features are not present to such a high degree....
