Erosion and swelling during oligoester carriers degradation process
Dvořáková, Vendula ; Dittrich, Milan (advisor) ; Šklubalová, Zdeňka (referee)
The theoretical part of the work is focused on the inteligent biomaterials, their composition, structure, mechanism of the answers on impulses, also on their possible and real use, mainly in tissue engineering. There is a text passage including recent knowledge about biodegradation of polymers focusing on polylactic acid. The main part of the work is the experiment. The time-course of swelling of the matrices made from linear copolymer of DL- lactic acid and glycolic acid and branched terpolymer of DL-lactic acid, glycolic acid and tripentaerythritol in the aqueous medium was studied. The matrices were of different weights - 50 mg and 100 mg. Their swelling was monitored by destructive and non-destructive manner at 7 řC and 22 řC during an eight-day period. The volume oscillation of matrices was revealed and documented. The time-course of this phenomenon is influenced by temperature, matrice's size, and the specific features of molecular structure.
The position of security detention in the system of criminal sanctions
DVOŘÁKOVÁ, Vendula
The dissertation thesis The position of security detention in the system of criminal sanctions has a theoretical character with the aim to provide a comprehensive overview of the development, implementation and the up to date application of security detention. In connection with the study and factual analysis of the issue, the thesis was divided in several chapters. The content and meaning of some basic terms is defined in the first chapter. The second chapter reflects the development of security detention from the perspective of a broader legal comparison and the legislative process of the Act on Security detention execution. The chapter is focuses on pointing out the complexity and pitfalls of security detention development. The third chapter is devoted to the legal regulation of security detention in the current legal system and is divided into subchapters to interpret the individual legal regulations. The fourth chapter is dedicated to the personality of the offender and basic criminal liability. The fifth chapter is designed to point out the category of offenders from a medical perspective. Chapter six then deals with the application of security detention itself and the constitution in the Czech Republic describing the quality of life of inmates. The last chapter of the thesis focuses on the post-detention care itself. The interpretative analysis of primary and secondary sources showed that security detention is an inevitable part of protective measures in terms of increasing the usability of this measure and simultaneously fulfilling the capacity of security detention institutes in the Czech Republic.
The use of evalution and measurement tools for assessment of pain in surgery
DVOŘÁKOVÁ, Vendula
Pain can be a warning sign, but in surgery it is associated mainly with medical procedures. The aim of the research survey was to map out the pain rating scales that are used in practice in surgical patients, to determine the opinion of surgical nurses on these scales and patient experience. Furthermore, the paperwas aimed at the creation of a recommended procedure for evaluation of pain in surgical patients. In the empirical part of the thesis, quantitative and qualitative research was used. In the quantitative research, two questionnaires were created - for nurses (a non-standardized questionnaire) and for surgical patients (a combination of a non-standardized and standardized questionnaire). The focus group method with surgical patients and nurses was used as a qualitative method. The research survey shows that the most commonly used scale in practice is the visual analogue scale and verbal evaluation. Although these methods are widely used, our results suggest that they are not entirely sufficient. Respondents from the groups of nurses and patients wanted to add more accurate verbal description to the evaluation and increase the frequency of pain evaluation by a doctor and nurse. The most frequent symptoms of pain from the perspective of patients included: limited mobility and self-sufficiency, emotional lability, and verbal manifestations. And from the perspective of nurses: limited mobility, non-cooperation, limited self-sufficiency and verbal manifestations. Among the methods that are used most often by patientsto relieve painare medicinesprescribed by the doctor, relief positions, sleep and rest. More than 90% of patients are satisfied with the cooperation with the nurse and the doctor in the evaluation and treatment of pain. Based on the data analysis, a procedure for assessing pain in surgical patients has been proposed. Its clarity and usability were verified using the focus group method with surgical nurses and patients. Both the nurses and the patients assessed the recommended procedure quite positively. Possible pitfalls were perceived in the necessity of sufficient nurse-patient cooperation and enough time to implement the proposed assessment. The research survey was carried out in the territory of the South Bohemian region and is processed as part of thesolution of the GAJU team grant project - Use of Measuring Instruments in Nursing Practice (059/2018/S).
Providers of social services for families with children.
DVOŘÁKOVÁ, Vendula
The aim of this thesis is to determine user satisfaction with the offered services in the selected facilities of social services for families with children. In the practical part of the thesis, qualitative research, personal interrogation and a semi-structured interview have been applied. Using the Registry of Providers of Social Services of the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs, a research sample from the South Bohemian Region was selected. Permission to interview communication partners was granted by a facility of social activation services for families with children and by shelter for mothers with children. The complete reserach sample was covered by ten communication partners, six of them from the first mentioned facility, the remaining from the shelter. The interview for practical part of this thesis contained 19 questions with the aim tofind out how satisfied the users in the mentioned facilities are. Collected data were evaluated by means of open coding method, i.e. data were grouped into individual cathegories to reach better clarity. Research indicates that all communication partners are satisfied with social services for families with children and they can recommend them also to other individuals being in a similarly difficult life position they are not able to solve on their own. This bachelor thesis can serve as a feedback for providers of social services for families with children from their users and at the same time it could lead to eventual improvement of social services. Furthermore, it could be a guide for potential applicants for these social services, so that they know where to look for assistance and what to expect from these facilities of social services.
Moist wound healing in a confrontation with the classical method of wound dressing
DVOŘÁKOVÁ, Vendula
The main focus of this thesis is the comparison of the classical wound healing method and the wet healing method. The latter method is being widely used nowadays but there are still departments healing wounds the classical way. And while the wet method is by far the more favourite one there are nurses who adamantly promote the classical one. The combination of both is also being used very often. The bachelor's thesis is divided in to two parts theoretical and empiric. First part is focusing on the anatomy of skin, wounds in general and the history of their categorization as well as the healing of wounds its phases and influencing factors. Furthermore, there are dressing options, evaluation and documentations of wounds, materials used for wet healing and education of nurses described. Second part contains the case study. Two goals were set in the empiric section. The first is to find a time difference in healing wounds using the classical and the wet method. The second one is to set a difference in the caretaking the methods demand. There were four research questions stated to support the goals. They are as follows: What issues are the nurses facing while using the classical wound healing method? What issues are the nurses facing while using the wet wound healing method? What kind of a dressing the nurses prefer? What is the time difference in healing while using these methods? Qualitative survey was used in processing the research part of the thesis. To collect data semi structured interviews were held with nurses dealing with wound dressing and chronical wound patient's case histories. There were 16 questions in the interview (Attachment 2) that were spontaneously extended by sub-questions. The resulting findings were categorized and further processed. The case studies focused on patients with chronic wounds, hospitalized in the aftercare unit and were extended by photo documentation. The results state that nurses prefer wet wound healing. This method was judged faster andmore comfortable for the patient as well as more efficient from the economical point of view. To be able to adequately work with the materials used for wet wound healing it is very important for the nurses to study the topic continuously. Further findings also show that the classical method or its elements are still being used to treat wounds and even there are positive aspects to be found. The nurses are still fond of certain classical wound healing materials therefore they keep coming back to this method. The research also shows that by combining both methods excellent results can be reached. This thesis is capable of functioning as informational material for those, who are interested in the topic of wound healing. Readers will find basic information about both methods of wound healing accompanied by opinions on this matter provided by professional nurses tasked with wound dressings. The case study part talks about the procedure of healing and the photos provided are suitable for comparing both wound healing methods.
