Progression in Relationship of Parents to Child in the Prenatal Period
DVOŘÁKOVÁ, Kateřina
This work is engaged in a possibility to communicate and make relations of both parents to unborn baby. Main aim of this work is to point out the possibilities to form a positive relation of mother and father to baby in prenatal period. The result is that expectant parents who want to contact the baby can do much more than only caress a belly or speak to it.
Interactions of Zn2+ ions with proteins and nucleic acids
DVOŘÁKOVÁ, Kateřina
Interaction of Zn2+ ions with proteins and nucleic acids Zinc is an important metal in biological systems. It is a strong Lewis acid, forms a stable Zn2+ ion and can exist in several coordination geometries. Zinc is required for the activity of more than 300 enzymes. In proteins zinc can either participate directly in chemical catalysis or can be important for maintaining protein structure and stability. In this work a dataset of high quality (resolution better than 3 Ǻ) crystal structures deposited in the Protein Data Bank on internet have been examined to identify typical zinc binding sites and to establish their coordination geometries. Totally 135 zinc binding sites found in 74 structures have been analyzed. The most frequent coordinating atoms are sulphur in cystein, NE2 and ND1 nitrogens in histidine followed by oxygen atoms in carboxylates of aspartic and glutamic acids. 67% of zinc binding sites were found to be four-coordinated with tetrahedral coordination geometry. In contrast Mg2+ cations show a clear preference to bind to oxygen atoms and to form octahedral cavities. We have not found any structure with a direct zinc coordination to DNA except the 1ZQT structure which was however excluded due to its low resolution (> 3 {\AA}). Similarly only three zinc binding sites have been found in RNA structures which were however determined in the protein free environment. All other zinc binding sites have been located in proteins even in the presence of the nucleic acids.
Collection of aquatic and wetland plants, Institute of Botany, Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic, Třeboň
Navrátilová, Jana ; Husák, Štěpán ; Adamec, Lubomír ; Dvořáková, Kateřina
The Collection of Aquatic and Wetland Plants of the Institute of Botany AS CR in Třeboň was founded in 1976 with the aim to enable ex situ studies of threatened plant species. Since that time the Collection has provided plant material for experiments, repatriation of threatened species, taxonomical studies, and botanical illustrations for the compendium Flora of the Czech Republic. It is also used as an educational collection for university students and public. Since 1998, the seeds from the Collection (about 150–200 species each year) have been collected and offered for exchange to other institutions and botanical gardens within the Index Seminum. The Collection of Aquatic and Wetland Plants is located in the Section of Ecology of the Institute of Botany in Třeboň on an area of about 0.04 ha and its current design come from 1997. The Collection includes more than 400 species grown in outdoor containers and in a greenhouse. The overwhelming majority of these species are native to the Czech Republic; the others are mainly from other parts of the northern temperate zone. The Collection of Aquatic and Wetland Plants is the largest collection of living higher aquatic and wetland plants in Europe and one of the largest collections in the world.
Economic relations between the Czech Republic and Italy
Dvořáková, Kateřina ; Černá, Iveta (advisor) ; Kalínská, Emílie (referee)
The work is focused on economic relations between the Czech Republic and Italy. The relations between these states have a long-lasting tradition. Italy belongs to important business partners of our country. The purpose of this work is to analyse development of the foreign trade between Italy and the Czech Republic during the period of 1993-2008 and evaluate both czech investments in Italy and italian investments in the Czech Republic.
Development of the town Bystřice as a part of the Micro-region Džbány.
Dvořáková, Kateřina ; Kadeřábková, Jaroslava (advisor) ; Khendriche Trhlínová, Zuzana (referee)
In my paper I am trying to prove that it is an advantage for a town to be a member of a micro-region. I do focus at the relationship between town Bystřice and micro-region Džbány. A micro-region can be defined as a voluntary association of villages and communities, in order to solve their common problems, share their experiences and search for ways of getting financial support from funds of the European Union. Also I am trying to completely describe the micro-region Džbány and the town Bystřice. After proving the hypothesis, I chose to examine activity of the micro-region and the town Bystřice since 2002 to the year 2007. In these particular years I am exploring which projects were realized in the micro-region and the consequences for the town Bystřice.
The Second Demographic Transition - Regional Differentiations In the Czech Republic
