The Role of Czech-Slovak Translation in the Relationship between the two NationsBohemization - Slovakization - Rewriting - Transfer - Translation

The present thesis focuses on understanding the nature of the Czech-Slovak relationship viewed through the lens of translation between the two nations. The thesis follows the history of Czech-Slovak and Slovak-Czech translations: it begins with the earliest signs of Czech- Slovak translation (turn of the 16th and 17th century), continues with the establishment of the standard Slovak language and the first Slovak-Czech translations (at that time, the purpose of the translation was to mask the Slovak origin of a literary work), and concludes with the era of the first Czechoslovak Republic, which strongly affected the Czech-Slovak and Slovak- Czech translations by creating the construct of the Czechoslovak language. The second part of this thesis presents the case study examining the play Maryša written by the Mrštík Brothers and its translation into Slovak by multiple translators. The analysis of several translations of this play exemplifies how an extensive research of this kind of translation of the same literary work by multiple translators reveals in-depth and subtle aspects of the Czech-Slovak relationship, details about the history, and the presence of both languages in Czech and Slovak. Women Characters in Los pasos perdidos by Alejo Carpentier

This thesis will focus on three women characters in the novel Los pasos perdidos written by Alejo Carpentier. The thesis will analyse patriarchal elements in the novel. Firstly, it will briefly describe the terms machismo, patriarchy, and sexism, which are fundamental for understanding the novel. The aim of the work will be the analysis of the three women: Ruth, Mouche and Rosario. Each of them comes from a different social background and guides the protagonist through a specific phase of his life. Each woman in the novel is portrayed as an object serving the protagonist as a toll for his personal development.
Nina Sadur as a playwright

The thesis deals with dramatic work of a contemporary Russian author Nina Sadur (writing since the mid-eighties). Its object is to present main features of her poetics primarily by interpretation of two selected plays - Morokob and Milenkii, ryzhenkii. The first play could be conceived as a metaphysic drama. Its analysis pays attention to two mutually connected levels - those of and of . The second play is based on an older Sadur's subject transposed from the former novel to a radio play. The thesis is concerned with the shifts of meaning caused by this transposition as well as with a critical discussion issued in 2003 and titled Who Is the Cute Little Redhead? exploring various layers of meaning of the novel/radio play. The next part summarizes the available secondary literature, specifies the focus of scholar interest, contains the essential bibliographic data of the author as well as the chronology of her dramas and it lastly mentions the issue of her subsumption under one of the literary movements appearing in Russia since the end of the seventies.
Jewel and Decoration in Art Education at Primary School

This thesis is focused on jewel and his placement in the art education at primary school. The theoretical part focuses on classification and function of jewel in general. It describes his development and monitors the changes of jewellery production from the beginning of the 20th century until now in the Czech Republic and foreign countries. In the theoretical part non-traditional materials used for jewel are described. There is also introduced the textile jewel as a part of jewellery made from non-traditional materials. The practical part includes two methodological art series and the concept of jewel is introduced to children through them. The thesis includes supplementary materials and photo documentation.

Czech translations of the novella Moscow-Petushki by Venedikt Erofeev

"České překlady novely Venedikta Jerofejeva Moskva-Petuški 1" - tak jsme práci nazvali a takové je i její téma. Práce je svým zaměřením primárně lingvistická, ovšem nutně s jistým l iterárním přesahem. Jejím hlavním cílem je porovnání dosavadních českých překladů Jerofejevova nedlouhého, ale o to slavnějšího a významnějšího díla, a pokus o vyhodnocení jej ich speci fik, příp. kladů i záporů, a zejména o posouzení toho, do jaké míry se překladatelům podaři lo zprost ředkovat dílo v celé jeho šíři českému čtenáři. Rozsah analýzy je omezen rozsahem bakalářské práce.
The Journal "Kultura doby"

The bachelor thesis presents the Kultura doby (The culture of the period) magazine, which was published in years 1936 - 1939. It is the first descriptive analysis, which provides a general assessment of this journal. In detail it mostly deals with the history of Kultura doby itself, the people around, the political influences and literary positions. A major part of the thesis deals with a literary critic Fedor Soldan, who was an author, an editor in chief and as of the second year also a publisher of the Kultura doby.
Financial analysis of the company MOCCA, spol. s.r.o.

The bachelor thesis deals with the financial analysis of the company MOCCA, spol. s.r.o. in years 2006 -- 2010. Thesis is divided into two main parts. The methodological one includes the description and explanation of financial analysis methods that were used in the practical section. The practical part introduces readers with the company, after that there is applied horizontal and vertical analysis of accounting statements together with ratio indicators, bankruptcy and solvency models, all in comparison with the food industry. The conclusion includes final results summing up each sections of financial analysis and comprehensive overview of the financial health of the company.
The Day When My Life Changed

The master thesis called The Day When My Life Changed is an educational project for ninth-graders at elementary school centred on the epoch of The Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia. By means of this project pupils get acquianted with the fates of four children, whose lives were significantly influenced by the Second World War and holocaust. It is a History programme, which uses methods of Drama Education. Its facultative part is the theatre production The Angel Has Not Come? The first part of this work deals with the description of the project itself including the screenplay and its performances in two elementary schools. The goal of this project is gaining and deepening history knowledge and especially forming the pupils´ deeper relationship towards this topic.
