Log-optimal investment
Král, Stanislav ; Dostál, Petr (advisor) ; Večeř, Jan (referee)
Suppose we have capital, which we will redistribute into investment oppor- tunities. The financial valuation of these investments will form a sequence of independent, identically distributed random vectors taking values in some clo- sed, positive interval. We will have full knowledge of the entire history of these valuations before each investment. It turns out that if our strategy is to always maximize the mean value of the logarithm return on these investments, then this strategy is in a sense asymptotically optimal. 1
Ability of plants to adapt to changing climate
Brožová, Alžběta ; Münzbergová, Zuzana (advisor) ; Dostál, Petr (referee)
Climate is one of the main selective forces in determining plant distribution and phenotype. Plant populations can cope with climate change through phenotypic plasticity or adaptive evolution or they can track their climatic optimum by migration. These mechanisms are not mutually exclusive and act probably all together. As the rate and intensity of ongoing climate change are very high, rapid adaptation could be of prime importance for many species to survive. There is now ample evidence of distributional and phenological shifts in plant populations, however, less is known about evolution in physiological and morphological traits. This bachelor project is a literature research on plant adaptation to climate change. The first part summarizes mainly theoretical findings, the second part focuses on the methods for testing plant evolution mainly on resurrection approach.
The Use of Artificial Intelligence on Stock Market
The Use of Linear Programming for Optimization of Transport Problem
Macharová, Aneta ; Dostál, Petr (referee) ; Doskočil, Radek (advisor)
This bachelor’s thesis focuses on methods and processes that take place in the company when optimizing transportation cost factor. The first part deals with the theoretical introduction into linear programming methods and distribution tasks including a description of economic and mathematical models. In this part I will also explain the add-on „The SOLVER" which is used for optimal calculations. The practical part uses the described methods with real data from the company "Agromex"; the company will be introduced in this part. The problem that will be solved will also be listed. I will present the models I have created, proposals for solutions and I will interpret the results using the calculation of the add-on „The SOLVER".
Optimization of Production Capacity Utilization Linear Programming
Smoroň, Samuel ; Dostál, Petr (referee) ; Doskočil, Radek (advisor)
The bachelor thesis deals with the issue of production planning and the related use of the company's production capacity. The solution uses the simplex method as part of linear programming. A variable optimization model is created using the Solver add-on, which respects the set constraints. The output is also a VBA form for easier model management. The optimization model is helpful in the managerial decision-making of the company.
Algorithmization for decision support
Šišlák, Petr ; Budík, Jan (referee) ; Dostál, Petr (advisor)
The bachelor thesis is focused on the development of price indicators, which are used for effective trading on the stock exchange. Part of the work is a technical analysis of the selected currency pair at a chosen time and based on the results of create effective indicators and test them at different time intervals.
Algorithmization for decision support
Kvapil, Juraj ; Budík, Jan (referee) ; Dostál, Petr (advisor)
The bachelor thesis is focused on area of algoritmic trading. The main focus in this thesis is aimed towards algorytmic solution to technical analysis on cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin as well as on other instruments, for example currency pair EUR/USD. You will be presented with my method to maximize productivity and make trading efortless. My solution is based on real time runnig software, that is capable of detecting predetermined patterns in price charts. Software has also ability to place automated trading orders based on results of analisys.
The Use of Artificial Intelligence for Decision Making in the Firm
Března, Filip Samuel ; Šebestová, Monika (referee) ; Dostál, Petr (advisor)
Artificial intelligence and fuzzy logic related to it currently belong to very popular and rapidly expanding technological subjects. It finds use in many areas, which also include the process of prediction of future states based on specific finite input characteristics. This master’s thesis deals with predictions that are done in field of agricultural crops growing. Basic principles that are affecting mentioned agricultural growing are explained here, their meaning and significance are specified, these are later on perceived as a key aspect to creation of fuzzy models that are used for prediction. This process is specifically about finding out the most suitable crop on considered parcel for maximization of income. Second part of design section is dedicated to description of approaches for work with fuzzy models and is also used as demonstration of application created for purpose of this thesis.
The Application of Fuzzy Logic for Rating of Suppliers for the Firm
Bendová, Kateřina ; Šebestová, Monika (referee) ; Dostál, Petr (advisor)
The master‘s thesis deals with the use of fuzzy model in the evaluation of television suppliers. This model is used for easier and faster decision when choosing a suplier for a particular commission. The fuzzy model is created on the basis of criteria that are essential for the company. This model is designed by MS Excel and MathWorks MATLAB.
The Application of Fuzzy Logic for Evaluation of Quality of Customers
Nezbedová, Katarína ; Šebestová, Monika (referee) ; Dostál, Petr (advisor)
This master thesis deals with the evaluation of SAP customer quality using fuzzy logic theory and its application. The core of the work is to create models in the MATLAB and Microsoft Excel development environment. Also to use it to create and compare ratings of several customers with different parameters. Using the results, the company can determine the following procedure to solve customer’s problems.
