Most of the respondents stated that they were aware of the risk of avalanche danger. Nevertheless, 77.5 % of the interviewed were moving on the open terrain during the skitouring tour, of which 25 % were beginners who did not have sufficient experience with it. Only 25 % had avalanche safety equipment, but only 60 % of them performed mutual control of avalanche rescue beacons Conclusion: Based on the results of the...

Schuran, Michal ; Šafránek, Jiří (advisor) ; Brtník, Tomáš (referee)
Title of the study: Cycling - The use of power meters in a race Study aim: The aim of this study is to prove power meters usability during races which are full of variable conditions and to find out in which situations it is suitable or unsuitable to follow this data. Methods: This study is based on quantitative research. We used a questionnaire with open-ended questions. Results: The study confirmed the usability of power meters during races. Power meters are used especially after post-race analysis (92 %). 79 % of all respondents use it for the informative purpose during the race and 67 % ride the race according to the data given by power meters. Power meters are mainly used in time-trials or longer performace, such as climbing or breakaway. The results has shown a significant difference between amateurs and professional cyclists. 83 % of amateurs stated that they often ride according to their critical values when riding more than 15 minutes whereas professionals regularly ride beyond their critical values. Conclusions: Cyclists using power meters while practicing use them also during the races. Amateurs use them especially during races because of more frequent solo ride. Getting data from this questionnaire by World Tour riders would be very interesting as we would be able to compare the results...

Title: The Recumbent bicycle as a World Phenomenon. Objectives: The main goal of this thesis is to map the situation of recumbent bicycles abroad and then to compare it with the situation in the Czech Republic. Furthermore, the key differences are discussed. Methods: The thesis uses the method of quantitative data collection. The collection of data was done primarily and through half-structured questionnaires. In addition, the method of interview was applied as a supportive one. The Results: According to a qualified estimate there are about 550 - 600 thousand of recumbent cyclists. The biggest differences of both groups lie in the following aspects. Cyclists abroad possess of 21,7 % of recumbent bicycles of their own construction less (2,5 %) than the Czech cyclists do. 70 % of foreign cyclists ride their recumbent bicycles from 2 to 3 times per week or every day, the Czechs like these are of 36,4 %. 59,5 % of foreign cyclists state as a reason to ride their recumbent the health prevention. The Czechs do that only in 33,3 %. Conclusion: The research shows interesting connections between the Czech and the foreign cyclists of recumbent bicycles and, at the same time, some differences. Title: Physical activities of persons with cerebral palsy Main Goal: To assess whether selected probands with severe physical disabilities due to cerebral palsy can take active part in selected sporting activities. Objectives: 1) To characterize selected probands with cerebral palsy. 2) To procure special equipment for selected sporting activities. 3) To assess the possibilities of active participation of probands suffering from spastic diparesis and spastic quadriparesis forms of cerebral palsy. 4) To design instruction methods for selected sporting activities. Method: This bachelor thesis is an empirical-theoretical one. It exploits the method of direct observation of sporting activities carried out by students with physical disabilities. Results: In this bachelor thesis, we have verified, based on the theoretical and subsequent practical instruction of several sporting activities, such as canoeing, skiing and sailing, that there are specific differences between individual persons suffering from spastic diparesis and spastic quadriparesis forms of cerebral palsy, depending on the severity and extent of their disabilities. The factors limiting their ability to learn and take part in sporting activities consist predominantly in orthopedic impairments affecting upper limbs, together with sensory and...

Effect fo different sizes of wheels of in-line skates on energy expenditure
Sukovič, Richard ; Jindra, Matouš (advisor) ; Brtník, Tomáš (referee)
EFFECT OF DIFFERENT SIZES OF WHEELS OF IN-LINE SKATES ON ENERGY EXPENDITURE Objectives: The aim of this bachelor thesis is to determine the difference in energy expenditure when using different sizes of wheels of in-line skates. Methods: The research group consisted of 5 people in age 26,4 ± 2,2 years. This was an experiment. The calculation of energy expediture was based on the amount of oxygen consumption (VO2) and exhaled carbon dioxide (VCO2), i.e. indirect calorimetry. For the analysis of respiratory gases MetaMax 3B measuring device was used. Three sizes of wheels of the same hardness were tested. The rides were carried out on a 1,5 km section of a cycle path with the effect of the height difference of 2 mm/m. Probands completed one test ride (with a cadence of 70 rpm) on each size set of wheels. Test ride lasted for 5 minutes. For results were processed values of 3 minutes steady state VO2. Results: We found out a noticeable difference in energy output between 72 mm and 90 mm large wheels. The difference between driving on 72 mm and 80 mm large wheels and driving on 80 mm and 90 mm large wheels was, due to the standard error of measurement, insignificatnt. Conclusion: The energy expenditure reached a noticeable increase in driving with a larger diameter of wheels compared to driving on...
Flyboarding
Civín, Petr ; Vomáčko, Ladislav (advisor) ; Brtník, Tomáš (referee)
Name: Flyboarding - methodology of teaching begininners Goals: The aim of this work is to compare ways of teaching a first flyboard lesson (American, Vietnam, Czech). The other objective is to create a picture diagram that will help instructors in teaching the teoretical part of the lesson. Methodology: In our thesis we used a methodology of analysis and used quantitative research. We apllied the methodology of analysis in parsing each teaching method on 150 beginners. In the period under consideration of the performance stage we evaluate the results accoarding to the Zapata teaching manual [40] and the criteria (1. the lenght of the theoretical and practical part of the lesson, 2. the effectiveness of teaching, 3. the use of aids in the theoretical part of the lesson, 4. the quality of teaching history, safety, how flyboarding works, take-off, 5. the begginer feedback after the lesson) Results: We found out that the most effective teaching methodology is the American lesson. Instructional video effectively prepared beginners for the practical part of the lesson. They were able to fly in less than five minutes. The Czech methodology provedto be standart. This methodology contains all the important segments of a proper lesson, but is largely incomplete or can be easily misinterpreted. Beginners...
