Tensor Network-based Computational Methods for Strongly Correlated Molecular Quantum Mechanics
Brandejs, Jan ; Veis, Libor (advisor) ; Mančal, Tomáš (referee) ; Pitoňák, Michal (referee)
Despite an immense progress in recent decades, a precise treatment of strongly corre- lated molecular systems still remains a challenge as of today. To help solve this problem, we have developed a massively parallel implementation of DMRG, called MOLMPS. For nonrelativistic systems requiring accurate treatment of both static and dynamical corre- lation, we have extended MOLMPS by the means of the almost linear scaling DLPNO- TCCSD method. In relativistic domain, we are the first who employed the 4c-CCSD to add dynamical correlation on top of DMRG, yielding the 4c-TCCSD method. When tested on benchmarks like the π-conjugated anthracene tetramer with CAS(63,63) and the FeMoco cofactor with CAS(113,76). We showed a good parallel performance on up to about 2000 CPUs. On the example of Iron(II)-Porphyrin model, we showed that the DLPNO-TCCSD captures 99.9% of TCCSD correlation energy. Our spectroscopic study on heavy diatomics showed that the 4c-TCCSD approach increases the precision of underlying CCSD to the order of CCSD(T) and that it is a promising approach. The thesis discusses three different implementations of quantum chemical methods based on QC-DMRG. 1
Optimizing quantum simulations and the DMRG method
Brandejs, Jan ; Pittner, Jiří (advisor)
Title: Optimizing quantum simulations and the DMRG method Author: Jan Brandejs Department: Department of Chemical Physics and Optics Supervisor: doc. Dr. rer. nat. Jiří Pittner, DSc., J. Heyrovský Institute of Physical Chemistry of the Czech Academy of Sciences Abstract: In this work, we explore the quantum information theoretical aspects of simulation of quantum systems on classical computers, in particular the many- electron strongly correlated wave functions. We describe a way how to reduce the amount of data required for storing the wavefunction by a lossy compression of quantum information. For this purpose, we describe the measures of quantum entanglement for the density matrix renormalization group method. We imple- ment the computation of multi-site generalization of mutual information within the DMRG method and investigate entanglement patterns of strongly correlated chemical systems. We present several ways how to optimize the ground state calculation in the DMRG method. The theoretical conclusions are supported by numerical simulations of the diborane molecule, exhibiting chemically interest- ing electronic structure, like the 3-centered 2-electron bonds. In the theoretical part, we give a brief introduction to the principles of the DMRG method. Then we explain the quantum informational...
Analysis of the structural joints of the disc tiller
Smola, Tomáš ; Dzimko, Marián (referee) ; Brandejs, Jan (advisor)
The aim of this diploma thesis is to analyse loading forces which impact on the frame of the disk plough-harrow during the real operation, suggestion and assembling of the measuring system for measuring of real loading. On the basis of this measuring to accomplish structural deformational tensor analysis of the frames load-bearing’s machine. In the introduction is shortly described using of the disk plough-harrow in modern agriculture. The diploma thesis is divided into two parts. The first part is devoted to the suggestion of the measuring system and loading measuring under real working conditions. The second part is focused on deformational tensor analysis of the frames load-bearing’s machine through the method of final elements. In conclusion it follows the evaluation of gained pieces of knowledge.
Design of single-purpose cutting machine for shortening of plant stems
Žižka, Jakub ; Brandejs, Jan (referee) ; Vespalec, Arnošt (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the design of a single-purpose machine for cutting plant stems. The task of the machine is to cut already partially shortened and stripped wheat straw stalks to the required length. The operation of the machine is fully automated, the operator only ensures the supply of semi-finished products to the machine, removes the finished stalks and controls the operation of the machine. In the thesis is a search describing the existing technologies used for cutting plant stalks, the possibility of driving a single-purpose machine and possible solutions for transporting stalks. The research also includes an analysis of the necessary mechanical and physical properties of wheat stalks. Subsequently, the analysis of information from the research part of the thesis and the definition of important parameters for the design construction balance sheet is performed. In the practical part of the work are developed concepts of possible solutions of individual structural nodes and justification of the choice of individual solutions. The second part of the practical part deals with the construction design of a selected conceptual design, including calculations. The work shows a possible solution for the construction of a machine for processing semi-finished products with a large variety of shapes.
Pallet truck
Paulíček, Jiří ; Křupka, Jiří (referee) ; Brandejs, Jan (advisor)
The aim of this bachelor thesis is to design a pallet truck, equipped by mechanism which allows the truck to be loaded into van. Truck is designed for manual-hydraulic drive of forks and for load of 1000kg. The basic types of pallet trucks are described in the research part. There is also described Innolift, which is only one with the self-loading mechanism. The main construction nodes are solved in the design part including strength calculations
The front axle of the three-wheel hobby vehicle
Mlynár, Adam ; Brandejs, Jan (referee) ; Mazůrek, Ivan (advisor)
This bachelor's thesis deals with design of front double wishbone suspension adaptable to reverse trike vehicle. The first chapter is devoted to the overview of three-wheel vehicles, the basic geometrical parameters of the axles and the introduction of the modified vehicle. The next chapter contains a suggestion of suitable geometry and kinematics of the axle and is inspected in program Lotus Suspension Analysis. The conclusion is devoted to conceptual design and structural design in program SolidWorks 2016. A suitable stiffness of the suspension is also proposed, and the factor of safety of the arms and the steering knuckle is checked by finite element analysis.
Engineering design of the hydraulic press for bearings for bikes
Vichr, Tomáš ; Brandejs, Jan (referee) ; Klapka, Milan (advisor)
This bachelor thesis concerns design of a bearing replacement device in the motorcycles wheels. The aim was to develop an affordable and reliable home appliance. In general research are defined the imperfections of commonly available devices on the market. Based on that are designed three conceptual proposals as a solution of these problems. The most suitable one is chosen and the critical crucial points are verified as well as the production price.
Mechanical design of 3D printer head for manufacturing of concrete parts
Slavíček, Jakub ; Brandejs, Jan (referee) ; Paloušek, David (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with a structural design of modular printer head used for 3D print of cementitious mixture. Printer head is designed for continuous printing of cementitous mixture with added crushed stone and accelerator. The main function of printer head is extrusion of the final mixture with established print parametres. In the thesis, the research was conducted into existing 3D concrete printing methods, possibilities of concrete transportation and material characteristics. The analysis is carried out in the second chapter, where the knowledge from the first chapter is evaluated and factors influencing the extrusion of concrete are defined. The design part of thesis specifies basic printing parametres and contains different alternatives of solution. The chosen conceptual solution is elaborated in detail and construction solution includes verifying calculations.
