Contemporary perception of personality and legacy of John Amos Comenius by educators and pupils of elementary schools

This bachelor thesis is focused on finding answers, even partial ones, to the questions of whether the character of Jan Amos Comenius is just a dusty bust in honorary niches of educational institutions, or whether it is still a living, viable and inspiring life story for educators and pupils of today's elementary schools in our country; story with an overlap to the present day. The thesis contains both theoretical and practical part with a survey in the form of a questionnaire survey. The aim of the theoretical part is not only to cover major works of Jan Amos Comenius, if possible in all spheres of his active work, but it also briefly examines the perception of his legacy over several centuries through selected historical epochs and ideologies, as well as several significant personalities of the public, spiritual and cultural life of the Czech nation, who helped maintain and spread the ideas of Jan Amos Comenius for many centuries after his death and on whom these ideas had a considerable influence. Thesis Perception of cultural differences in children with different mother tongue and children from bilingual environment is a case study at a specific primary school. The theoretical part deals with methodology of education of pupils with different mother tongue than Czech and the methodology of education of pupils living in a bilingual environment. Furthermore, the cultural differences, the identification of cultural clashes is explained here. The thesis also deals with the issue of national minorities in the Czech Republic, stereotypes and labelling. The practical part is focused on finding out whether the students with different mother tongue and students from bilingual environment perceive cultural differences at a particular primary school. Education of pupils suffering from ADHD in elementary school

Thesis consist of theoretical part and empirical part. In the theoretical part of the thesis the author will look into the characteristics of the ADHD syndrome and its subtypes. It will also focus on other issues related to ADHD, such as specific learning disabilities. The author will define the concept of ADHD, including its etiology. The theoretical part will also contain a part that will be devoted to diagnostics, treatment and medication of pupils with ADHD. This part will describe the specific manifestations of ADHD syndrome in each developement stage of a child. There will also be a part dedicated to special education needs and support measures that could be applied to an inclusive approach in education for pupils with ADHD. The research part will use a qualitative research method, including a case study, interview and observation. In this part of the work, the author will focus on two case studies of students with ADHD, supplemented by an interview with the mother of twins. Possibilities of employing a social educator in the framework of prevention of burnout syndrome by teachers at a selected elementary school

In this diploma thesis I deal with the topic Possibilities of employment of a social pedagogue within the prevention of burnout syndrome in teachers at a selected primary school. In the theoretical part I deal with the concepts of social pedagogy and social pedagogue, stress factors and burnout syndrome in pedagogical practice. It also defines the competencies of a social pedagogue not only in the school environment. In the practical part I present quantitative and qualitative research. Quantitative research used a questionnaire method. Questionnaires were addressed to the teachers of the selected primary school. The obtained data are processed into graphs. Qualitative research, which expanded quantitative knowledge, took the form of interviews. From the information I gained, I developed a grounded theory. The main goal of this diploma thesis was to find out the possibilities of support for teachers that a social pedagogue has in the prevention of burnout. The research concluded that educators expect a greater opportunity to share stressful situations with a social educator. The bachelor's thesis "Reasons for leaving or discontinuing foster care for temporary period for fosters for temporary period in the Czech Republic" is divided into two parts - theoretical part and practical part. In the theoretical part there is a summarisation of the main information about substitute family care - its evolution, forms and division into institutional care and foster care. Further, the theoretical part is focused on foster care for temporary period. Specifically on its legislation, foster care for temporary period in chosen European countries, the process of introduction of foster care for temporary period to the Czech republic, kids in foster care for temporary period, and finally fosters for temporary period themselves. The role of social worker in home for abandoned children with school

I choose the topic of my bachelor's thesis on the basis of practice, personal experience and the experience of colleagues in the field. I deal with the description of the activities and risks associated with activities of social workers to achieve the goals in homes for abandoned children with school. I used a qualitative research, method of semi-structured interviews, to achieve these goals. Five social workers from these institutions in Czech Republic were willing to do the interview with me. It was found that the role of social worker is very important and diverse in its content. The social worker is an intermediary between the institution for these kids and all other related institutions. Social worker coordinates the admission of children and administratively ensures their admission, transfer and release, cooperates and mediates contact with OSPOD, CSSA, Czech police, courts, schools and medical facilities. An integral part of his job is the mediation and enabling contact with the family, neighbors, foster parents, informs them about what is happening in the facility and maintains close contact with children and informs them about their family situation appropriate to the age and mental abilities of the child.
