Influence of Economic Crisis on The Integration of European Union

This thesis focuses on the changes in the European Union due to the economic crisis in 2008/2009. The thesis defines an integrational system of the European Union and the changes in the system that bring some changes to the economic integration of the European Union. The main research question is whether the economic crisis brings the deepening of the economic integration or some desintegration tendencies in the European Union. The main part is the analysis of the free movement of goods, services, people and capital on the single market in the European Union. With an accent on the analysis of the institutional integration in the European Union. The thesis looks into the connection between the instutional and real integration of the European Union and the economic situation in the member states.
The Institutions of the European Union - the present and prospects

The goal of my work is to introduce and evaluate the main institutions of the EU. To highlight and clarify the main problems and try to estimate the possible future developement of this institution. The content of the first chapter is the history of European Union. Afterwards I am occupied with member countries, candidate countries and potential candidate countries of the EU. In the third chapter I describe the function, composition and the method of election to the European parliament and voting within the European commission. In the fourth chapter I point out the important points of the Treaty of Lisbon and the Europe 2020 Strategy. In the fifth chapter I focus on the great problematical integration projects: the currency of EU and the Schengen Area. In the prenultimate chapter I analyse the fundamental problems of the European Union: unemployment and democratic deficit. On the base of mentioned chapters I estimated the future of the European Union.

The aim of this bachelor's thesis is to provide readers with overview of Czech air transport, its importance, system of regulation and presentation of the most important players in the air transport market and their roles. Furthermore, this thesis focuses on changes that occured as a result of Czech republic's accession to the European Union and to the Schengen Area. It also deals with common legislation, projects and developmet after 2004.

This bachelor thesis is devoted to the evaluation of ten years of Slovakia's membership in the European Union in the field of economic development and foreign trade. The first chapter gives an overview of the accession process. The second chapter discusses the Slovakia as an EU member state and analyzes its economic development. The third chapter focuses on the impacts of EU accession on foreign trade of Slovakia. The last chapter is devoted to the future strategic issues.
Maastricht convergence criteria and their fulfillment by the Czech Republic

Fulfillment of Maastricht criteria is essential in order to enter Eurozone which currently consists of 18 member states. The main objective of this thesis is to assess preparedness of the Czech Republic for adopting common European currency. The thesis is divided into three chapters. The first chapter describes development of monetary integration in Europe and nominal and real convergence criteria. In the second chapter, some thoughts about the possible impact of adopting euro by the Czech Republic are provided. The subject of last chapter is the analysis itself of fulfillment of Maastricht convergence criteria by the Czech Republic through the period from 2010 to 2016. In addition, this chapter describes economic alignment of the Czech Republic with the Eurozone and the acceptance of euro by the Czech Republic.
Comparison of monetary policies of FED and ECB in connection with the mortgage and debt crisis

The paper focuses on the analysis and evaluation of monetary policies of Federal Reserve System and European Central Bank in connection with the mortgage and debt crisis. In the beginning of the paper we describe the history and organisational structure of these banks. Major part of the paper deals with the monetary policies of both FED and ECB, their instruments, strategies and targets. The second part of the paper focuses on the financial crisis and the individual standard and non standard measures that both FED and ECB have used in the process of solving the crisis. We analyse the success of these measures from the perspective of the objectives that FED and ECB wanted to meet using these measures. Analysing this the paper concludes how policies of these central banks have influenced the way their credibility is viewed. The final chapter of the paper focuses on contemporary measures of both banks and the prediction of their impact.
U.S. economy and economic policy: Republican and Democratic approach

This bachelor thesis is focused on the economy and economic policy of the United States of America, in particular on the evaluation of approaches of selected representatives of the two major political parties (Republican and Democrat) to key issues affecting the economic situation of the country. The first part defines the similarities and differences in opinion between Democrats and Republicans, and there is also a description of the economic situation which formed the basis for the second term of President Bush. In the next sections of my thesis, I describe the economy and economic policy in the period during the rule of selected presidents and their administrations and objectives which they set for that given period. Furthermore, I evaluate whether they were able to meet these objectives. In the last chapter, the fourth, I evaluate the approach of individual presidents and their administrations to real economic issues, and describe the state of the economy at the end of the first term of Barack H. Obama.
Poverty in Sub-Saharan Africa: Causes and elimination strategies

The aim of this work is to highlight the issue of poverty in Sub-Saharan Africa. The first chapter focuses on poverty and its definition, classification and measurement. It also outlines the current situation of Sub-Saharan Africa. The second chapter defines the main causes of poverty in Sub-Saharan Africa, including geographic, colonial heritage, internal political instability and socio-economic and demographic causes. The third chapter deals with international organizations such as the key player solving the problems of poverty. The attention is devoted to the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) and strategies of the World Bank, as two possible instruments for poverty reduction. The bachelor's thesis draws upon Czech and primaliry foreign Internet resources and books, especially the statistics, annual reports and databases of international institutions.
The Swiss economy in the early 21st century

The bachelor thesis deals with the Swiss economy in the early 21st century. The economy of Switzerland is one of the most developed in the world, but recent events such as the eurozone debt crisis could threaten its position. The aim of this thesis is to analyse the current state of the Swiss economy, while defining the main sources of risks and predicting the future development of the Swiss economy. A significiant part of the thesis also focuses on the characteristics of each sector in Switzerland. The first chapter deals with the general characteristic of Switzerland and analysis of its current economy. The next chapter is focused on the sectors of economy, foreign trade and on the attitude of Switzerland to the issues of economic and politic integrations. The third part is devoted to the description of the prospects of the Swiss economy, within which I define the main sources of risks and suggest the measures to be taken to protect the Swiss economy from these risks. In this part I predict the future development of the Swiss economy, too.
